MULGUND, GADAG TALUK, DHARWAR DISTRICT

On a slab built into a wall inside the Chandranatha-basti

1420 A.D.

This is dated Saka 1342, Sarvari, Vaisakha su. 14, Vaddavara (i.e. Saturday), corresponding to 1420 A.D., April 27.

It records the death of Bulisettiya Keshappa of Mulugunda, who was a lay disciple of the preceptor Hemasena of Sena-gana.  The teacher bore the prasasti Raya-rajaguru, Mandalacharya, Vadi-vadisvara, etc.

On a slab built into a wall inside the Chandranatha basti

1421 A.D.

This is dated Saka 1343, Plava., Bhadrapada su. 9, Friday, corresponding to 1421 A.D., September 5, Friday, f.d.t. 14.

It records the death of Nagarasa, son of Senabova, Heggade Maduvarasawho was minister and Bahattara-niyogadhipti of Tilakarasa of Soratur.  The earlie portion, in Sanskrit, records the death by the vow of sannyasa of Amrita, disciple of Bhattarakadeva of Balatkara-gana.  The details of the date of the latter’s death ae the same as those given above but without the Saka year.

TANGADIGI, MUDDEBIHAL TALUK, BIJAPUR DISTRICT

On a stone standing near the Hanuman temple

1445 A.D.

This is dated the cyclic year Krodhana, Sravana-amavasye, Monday.  Palaeographically the record might be assigned to the 15th century.  The date would thus correspond to 1445 A.D., August 2, Monday, f.d.t. 53.

It records a gift of land for offerings to the god Kapilasidda of Devinayakara-matha by Mallinayaka of Barige for feeding the Jamgamas in the name of Kapadiya Samgama.

HATTIRIKIHAL, BAGEVADI TALUK, BIJAPUR DISTRICT

On a stone in the front wall of the kallinatha temple

1488 A.D.

This is dated Saka 1410, Kilaka, Karttika su. 10, corresponding to 1488 A.D. October 15 (not verifiable).

It seems to record a gift to the god Kalinatha of Hatrikihala by Nandigaunda and others.

The extract portion refers to Chaitra su. 10, all other details of date being lost.  It seems to record a gift of money to the god Somanatha.  The inscription is damaged.

It records a gift of land to the priest Siddaramaiyya Vodeya for the worship of the god Siddayyadeva.

On a slab set up in front of the Kallappa temple

Ciraca 15th century

This is dated the cyclic year Plavana, Margasira su. 15.  The details cannot be verified.  It records the gift of the village Kallur or Kallapura in Mulugunda-valita to Bommanaiya for the benefit of the god Huttada Mallikarjuna of Gekinakatte by Chaadi Kadamba-nayaka.

It records a gift of land to the god Sripatideva by a son of Sridharacharya, whose name is not mentioned.

On the side of the Bagalkot road about two furlongs from the village

It seems to state that the land was a gift to the tank constructed by Raghavaji Bhimapa Desayi.

This is dated the cyclic Srimukha, Magha su. 1.  The details of date cannot be verified.  It records the gift of a village to the Dombas.  The epigraph is damaged.

It states that the village of Krishnarayasamudra was granted as an agrahara to the Brahmanas and it was indicated by the stone with the figure of Vamana bearing the epigraph.  The record was engraved by Kariyoja son of Devoja.

KERUR, BADAMI TALUK, BAIJAPUR DISTRICT

On the bank of the well called Hunasimarada-bhavi

1509-10 A.D.

This is dated [Saka]1431, Sukla, Karttika ba., the other details being lost.  The Saka year corresponds to 1509-10 A.D.

It seems to record a gift of land to the deity Basava by aMahamandalesvara.

KABAKIKATTI, RON TALUK, DHARWAR DISTRICT

On a stone set up in front of the Kariyavva temple

1515 A.D.

This is dated Saka 14, Yuva, Sravana ba. 1.  With the help of the cyclic year the Saka year can be restored as 1437.  Thus the details would correspond to 1515 A.D. July 26.  The details cannot, however, be verified.

It records a gift of land to the goddess Udachadevi by Mahamandalesvara Tarimaleya Koneriraju …….. Chinnayadeva Maha-arasu.

MARAGOLI, BAGEVADI TALUK, BIJAPUR DISTRICT

On a stone set up near the Hanuman temple

1522-23 A.D.

The last line of the inscription seems to refer to the date Saka 1444, which corresponds to 1522-23 A.D.

It mentions Devanayaka, son of Bichinayaka.

NILGUNDA, GADAG TALUK, DHARA DISTRICT

On a slab lying in a field about a furlong to the west of the village

1524 A.D.

This is dated Saka 1445, Svabhanu, Magha, ba. 30, Friday, corresponding to 1524 A.D., February 4.  The weekday, however, was Thursday.

It records a git of land to the god Siddhesvara of Mulugunda by Vemgalapa, son of Bagila Malapa-nayaka.

MUSHTIKOP, MUNDARGI TALUK, DHARWAR DISTRICT

On a pillar lying in the Venkatesdeva temple

1532 A.D.

This is dated Saka 1454, Sravana su. 5, corresponding to 1532 A.D., July 7.  The details cannot be verified.

HUYILGOL, GADAG TALUK, DHARWAR DISTRICT

On a stone set up in the Maruti temple

1536 A.D.

This is dated Saka 1458, Durmukhi, Bhadrapada ba. 10, Sunday, corresponding to 1536 A.D., September 10.

It records the death of badakala Nemo-nayaka and his two sons, the kanachikaras of Talavarike, in a dispute over the boundary of the villages Huligola and Gavaradeva. The stone was set up in memory of the deceasesd by Giriyapa-nayaka another son of Nemo-nayaka.

ABBIGERI, RON TALUK, DHARWAR DISTRICT

On a stone leaning against the left wall of the temple of Udachava

1541 A.D.

This is dated the cyclic year Plava, Bhadrapada su. 10, Tuesday.  As the epigraph can be assigned to the 16th century, on palaeographical grounds, these details may be equated to 1541 A.D., August 30.

BALAGANUR, MUDDEBIHAL TALUK, BIJAPUR DISTRICT

On a stone near the Hanuman temple

Ciraca 1544 A.D.

The inscrption first mention Hemalambi and then Saka 1466.  The said cyclic year occurring in Saka 1459 correspond to 1537 A.D.  The given Saka year corresponds to 1544 A.D.  The second date seems to be the date of confirmation of the grant made previously.

It records a gift of land as sarvamanya to Kampeya-vodeya, the Jangamu of Nalvatubada by the Aruvattokkalu of Balahanur and Dogi-nayaka of Hangarige.

1547 A.D.

This is dated Saka 1469, Plavamga, Karttika su. 7, Friday, corresponding to 1547 A.D., October 21.

The record stops with the mention of the date.
