BADAMI, BADAMI TALUK, BIJAPUR DISTRICT

On a stone lying in front of Yusuf-sahib’s house

Circa 12th century

This commences with an invocation to the Varaha incarnation.  It seems to describe an eminent personage.  The inscription being badly damaged, its purport cannot be made out.

BANASANKARI, BADAMI TALUK, BIJAPUR DISTRICT

On a pillar lying in the temple of Banasankrari

Circa 12th century

It states that Keti, son of Sayama, established charities such as free-feeding-house and educational facilities in places like Savasi, Maleyakheda and Narugunda, so that religious merit might accrue to him.

On a fragment of a stone near the Isvara temple

Circa 12th century

It seems to record a gift of land, oil, etc, made in favour of deity and a house-site to the sthanapati Sarvvesvara-pandita.  The record is damaged.

On a fragmentary hero-stone lying in the Hanuman temple

Circa 12th century

It seems to record a gift by the Mahajanas headed by the Gavunda.  The inscriptions is fragmentary.

KONNUR, HUNGUND TALUK, BIJAPUR DISTRICT

On a fragmentary stone lying in the Hanuman temple

Circa 12th century

It seems to have contained a date in the Chalukya-Vikram era.  It mentions a najaka.  The record is fragmentary.

KUNDARGI, HUNGUND TALUK, BIJAPUR DISTRICT

On a stone standing near the village chavadi

Circa 12th century

This is dated the cyclic year Vikrama, Sravana su., the tithi being lost.  It mentions Chaundaya-nayaka. The epigraph is badly damaged.

ANWAL, BADAMI TALUK, BIJAPUR DISTRICT

On a slab built into the embankment in Survey No. 332

Circa 12th century

It fecords a gift of land for maintaining a water-shed for the use of all beings on the road to Tineganuru by Somaya-Savanta of Endegere, for the merit of his father.  The donor who belonged to the Gutta family is credited with a number of high-sounding titles, such as Samastabhuvanasraya.  He also bore the epithet Kogaliya-puravaradhisvara.

MALGI, BADAMI TALUK, BIJAPUR DISTRICT

On a broken hero-slab set up in the Maruti temple

Circa 12th century

This is dated the cyclic year Svabhanu, Ashadha su. 11.  It cannot be verified.  It seems to record a gift by the Five Hundred in memory of a hero.  The record is damaged.

NANDIHAL, BADAMI TALUK, BIJAPUR DISTRICT

On a hero-stone set up in the Maruti temple

Circa 12th century

It seems to register a gift and certain incomes made by Muka-gavunda, the Muliga of Garavalur and the eight Hittus and others in memory of Halliya Basavanta who died in a fight.  Refers to Mallidevarasa as ruling probably the area.  The inscription is damaged.

It states that the village of Baddavatti was a gift to the Bamka-jinalaya.

On a slab set up in front of the Hanumantadeva temple

Circa 12th century

It records a gift of land to Cholasu by Muliga Malligaunda and Bukaya-nayaka.

HIREHAL, HUNGUND TALUK, BIJAPUR DISTRICT

On a broken slabn leaning against the front wall of the Ramesvara temple

Circa 12th century

It seems to register a gift of land which was entrusted into the hands of Amritarasipandita.  The earlier part of the inscription is lost.

BOGANUR, NAVALGUND TALUK, DHARWAR DISTRICT

On the Nandi pillar in front of the Kalamesvara temple

Circa 12th century

It refers to the setting up of a Nandi pillar and mentions Rajaguru Chandra bhushana as the Sthanacharya of the god Nagesvara of Bankapura which is incidentally described as the capital (rajadham) of Indra-vallabha, i.e., the Rashtrakuta king Indra.

On a hero-stone set up in front of the Hanumantadeva temple

Circa 12th century

It seems to record a gift of land in memory of a hero who fell fighting.  The epigraph is badly damaged.

On a broken slab set up in the Siva temple

Circa 12th century

It records a gift of money for feeding the Jaina ascetics, associated with the temple of Tribhuvanatilaka by Perggade Vasiyanna’s wife Chamikabbe who was a disciple of Balachandra Siddhantadeva.

On a fragment of a slab built into the wall of the Kalamesvara temple

Circa 12th century

It refers to Niralayara Marasimgayya and Sivatada Bellagavunda.  The record is fragmentary.

Circa 12th century

It states that the land was a gift to the god Santanatha.

On a multilated Jaina image in the Hanuman temple

Circa 12th century

It contains the names of the Yakshis, Aparajita, Mahamanasi, Anantamati and Chakresvari and, the Yakshas, Vrishabha, Patala, Kubera and Santinatha of the Jaina Pantheon.

HALLUR, MUDDEBIHALL TALUK, BIJAPUR DISTRICT

On a multilated slab built into the front wall of the Hanuman temple

Circa 12th century

It mentions a Mahasamanta whose name is lost. The records is damaged.

HANDARGAL, MUDDEBIHAL TALUK, BIJAPUR DISTRICT

On a large hero-stone standing in the ruined Sangamesvara temple

Circa 12th century

This seems to describe the death of a hero in a fight.   It seems to mention the warrior Tantrapala Karna.  The inscription is much damaged.
