On a stone in the Lakkavva-kere field

Ciraca 13th century

It records a gift of land to the god Somanatha y Hariyana-nayaka.

HUVINA-HIPPARAGI, BAGEVADI TALUK, BIJAPUR DISTRICT

On a stone built into the proper left wall (outside) of the Hanuman temple

Ciraca 13th century

This is dated the month of Srvana su. 4, Friday.  These details are not enough to fix the date.

It records a gift of land to the Jaina deity, Tirthadeva of Ingalesvara, for feeding the Jaina monks and nuns on the occasion of the death anniversary of Remmarasa’s rather by Habu Vitharasa, Remmarasa and Recharasa.  The gift was received by Devachandra in the presence of the preceptor Dharmakirti Bhataraka.

It states that the land belonged to the god Kapalesvara.

It records a gift of land to Aipa, son of the barbr Muda, by the Five Hundred.

SORATUR, GADAG TALUK, DHARWAR DISTRICT

On a pillar in the Mallesvara temple

Ciraca 13th century

This is dated the cyclic year Durmikhi, Asvija su. 10, Tuesday.  On palaeographical grounds the record may be assigned to the 14th century in which case the details correspond to 1356 A.D., October 4.

It states that Gabbinayaka, an officer of Side-nayaka of Handiganur had a ruined temple at Soratur renovated andinstalled the deity Basavesvara theein.

HALKUSUGAL, NAVALGUND TALUK, DHARWAR DISTRICT

On a hero-stone lying in the Hanumantadeva temple

1370-71 A.D.

This is dated Saka 1292, Sunday, the other details being lost.  The Saka year corresponds to 1370-71 A.D.

States that the memorial stone marks the spot where a warrior fought and died.  The name of the hero and other details are lost.

MANGUNDI, DHARWAT TALUK, DHARWAR DISTRICT

On a sati-stone set up in a field called Siddhalinga-hakkala

1354 A.D. (?)

This is dated Kalayuktakshi, Sravana-amavasye, Wednesday.  As the inscription can be assigned, on palaeographical grounds, to the 14th century the above details may be equate to 1384 A.D., August 17, if the cyclic year is taken as Raktaksi.  If the cyclic year is interpretyed as Kalayaukti, the details do not correspond to neither of the Kalayukti years occurring in the century.

On a slab set up near the big stone-well in front of the Marti temple

It records a gift of money and oil by Samganagauda of Honnayakanakate.

On the side of the Bagalkot road, a furlong east of the village

It states that the land was a gift of Monapataiya, son of maligappa, for having constructed a tank.

On a hero-stone built into the wall of the Parvatappa temple

Ciraca 14th century

This is dated the cyclic year Pramadi,  Other details are not given.

It records the death of Naramna in a fight and refers to the setting up of the memorial for the warrior.

On a slab set up in front of the Kalamesvara temple

Ciraca 14th century

It seems to state that the entire yield of areca-nuts from the area was purchased by the three Goravas of the goddess and Jangama Yavoja.

On a pillar to the right of the southern entrance (outer side) into the Amritesvara temple

It seems to condemn the evil of gambling.

It records a saying that there is none who kills a Lenka and none who eats the flesh of a dog.

It seems to refer to the setting up of the nisidhi memorial of a person (name lost), disciple of Chandrakirti of Desiya-gana, probably by Jayakirti.

This fragmentary record mentions Tondarasa.

This is dated the cyclic year Isvra, [Bhadra]pada su. 1.  It cannot be verified It seems to record a gift to deity.  It refers to Mulivada, Alama Rahuta and the Aruvatuvakalu.

KATGERI, BADAMI TALUK, BIJAPUR DISTRICT

On the wall of the Hanumantadeva temple

Ciraca 14th – 15th century

It mentions Bommuttiva, son of Gidapa of Bilekudari.

No. 665

(B. K. No. 49 of 1927-28)

CHYAGIRAKERI, MUNDARGI TALUK, DHARWAR DISTRICT

On one of the two sluices of the tank

1404 A.D.

Tis is dated the cyclic year Tarana, Vaisakha su. 5, Monday.  As the record may be assigned palaeographically to the 15th century, the date may be equated to 1404 A.D., Aprial 14.

It states that the sluice of the tak was set up with due ceremony by Gopanna son of Masavergade Chikkanna-Upadhya.  Senabova Varadapaiya paid thirty Pratapa-Varahas towards its expenses and it was constructed by the mason Tipoja.
