APPENDIX C

Principal dates from Appendices A and B to the Annual Report for 1935-36, calculated with the help of the Indian Ephemeris.

Appendix.

Number
of
inscription.

Details of dated with their English equivalents and remarks.

VAIDUMA.
Bhuvana-Trinētra Vaidumba-Mahārāja.

A

7

Śaka 893, Āshāḍha, śu. 7, Thursday, Dakshiṇāyana-saṅkrānti.   The details agree for Śaka 891 (expired) = A.D. 969, June 24, Thursday.     It may however be noted that the king became king in Śaka 894.   (No. 325 of 1905). The quoted tithi and week-day coincided also in Śaka     894 (expired), the equivalent being Thursday, June 20, A.D. 972 ; but     the saṅkrānti actually occurred four days later.

Bhīmarāja.

B

323

Śaka 978, Durmati (wrong for Durmukhi, Āshāḍha, śu. 15, Thursday    = A.D. 1056, June 29, Saturday (not Thursday) ; 90.    If śu. 15 was a mistake for śu. 5, the details work out correctly for A.D.     1056, June 20, Thursday ; 78.

WESTERN CHALUKYA.
Bhūlōkamalladēva.

286

Chāḷukya-Vikrama year 3, Kīlaka, Kārttika, śu. 10, Thursday.     The year quoted was probably a mistake for the king’s regnal year ; the    date was probably A. D. 1129, November 7, Thursday ; f.d.t. 60.    The cyclic year was in expired one.

VELANANDU.
Rājēndrachōḍa.

239

Śaka 1092, Chaitra, śu. 5, Tuesday, Vishu-saṅkrānti
= A.D. 1170, March 24, Tuesday ; 62.

204

Śaka 1093, Khara, Māgha, paurṇamī, Wednesday, lunar eclipse =A.D. 1172, January 12, Wednesday, lunar eclipse.

TELUGU CHODA.
Mahāmaṇḍalēśvara Kandūri Bhīma-Dēvachōḍa-Mahārāja.

224

Śaka 1156, Jaya, Āshāḍha, śu. panchadaśī, Monday
=A.D. 1234, June 12, Monday ; f. d. t. 07.

Gaṅgaya-Dēvachōḷa-Mahārāja.

308

Śaka 1244, Dundubhi, Māgha, śu. 1, Saturday
=A.D. 1323, January 8, Saturday ; 69.

KAKATIYA.
Gaṇapatidēva.

235

Śaka 1182, Siddārthin, Śrāvaṇa, ba. 1, Thursday
=A.D. 1259, August 5, Tuesday (not Thursday) ; 72 ; but in the previous year, i.e., Kāḷayukti (Śaka 1180), the details regularly corresponded to Thursday, July 18, A.D. 1258 ; 01.

Rudradēva-Mahārāja.

240

Śaka 11[9]0, Vibhava, Āshāḍha, śu. 1, Thursday
= A.D. 1268, June 13, Wednesday (not Thursday) ; 17.
