III Prakara, Aryabhattal-vasal Tiers, Inner wall, Proper left of the Entrance

Saka 1349 (1427 A.D.)

Fragmentary. Built in at places. Seems to refer to an endowment of land for a grove (toppu) after excluding from it the manya and bhatta-vritt portions. The details of date are mutilated but for the years Parabhava (expired) and Plavanga (current) and the nakshatra Anuradha and are thus insufficient for verification. But the cyclic year Plavanga--- (Saka 1349) falling in the reign of Devaraya (II 1422-1446 A.D.) corresponds to 1427 A.D.

The record is dated in the cyclic year Paritapi leading to the year Virodhikrit, Chittirai, 26. There is apparently a mistake of juxtaposition or there is an omission of the expression mel before chellum in the relevant passage of the text, for, the year Paritapi follows the year Virodhikrit and does not Precede, as the text would mean. If Uttamanambi and Chakrarayar, two of the signatories of the record are identical with persons of the same name figuring in the preceding inscriptions, the cyclic year Paritapi may be Equated with Saka 1411 when the date would correspond to April 20, 1432 A.D.
