This
records a gift of a silver plate weighing 400 kalanju by the urkkal
for keeping the offerings to god Tiruvelvikkudi-Kahadeva, by Ayyan
Marasingan alias Virasekhara-Muvendavelan of
Gunamalappadi in nallarrur-nadu. The name of the village is reminiscent
of a velvi or sacrifice having been performed at the place.

It seems to record an endowment for a perpetual lamp in the
temple of Maravan-Isvara-griham at Siru-Paluvur by the wife of a
Palavettaraiyar chief (names lost).

This
records a gift of 15 kalanju of gold with which were purchased 90
sheep, for a perpetual lamp in the temple of Mahadeva at Tiruttavatturai
in Idaiyarru-nadu, bu Araiyan Ayyarradigal of Ovaichcheri a
hamlet of Brahmapurinallu in Malanadu on behalf (in memory) of his
parents Sulapani Ovaraiyar and Kuvavan Tiruvadi.
This is probably an inscription of Parantaka I.

the north wall of the same shrine
This
records an endowment of two plots of land measuring 4 ma and 3 kani
respectively, by Kumarandai Kari Adittan of Parantakapuram in
Idaiyarru-nadu for maintaining a perpetual lamp in the temple of
Isvara-Bhattaraka at Tiruttavatturai in the same nadu.
The former situated in Tengankudi a brahmadeya in
Brahmapurinallur in Mala-nadu, is said to have ben originally purchased
from the sabha of that village by one Kandan Tiruvaruli of
Paaiyur a merchant of Irayaripuram, and then to have passed on from his
sons as stridhanam to Kumarandai Kari Malapadi who into turn sold
it to the donor. The other
land was also purchased by the donor (evidently from the assembly), the
price paid being 20 kalanju for the both.
An equal amount made up of 13 kalanju received from the
donor and 7 from the temple funds, was paid to the assembly, towards the
exemption of the taxes irai, echchoru, vetti, vedinai, sennir-vetti etc.

the north wall of the central shrine, Tirukkotisvara temple
This
inscription is slightly damaged. It
registers a sale of ten sky of land situated at Kalakkudi and
belonging to the sabha of Mahendravarma-chaturvedimangalam to
the temple at Tirukkodikaval after making it tax-free.
The sabha gave facilities for irrigating the land by
permitting the damming of the channel near the village before its
confluence with the river. This
is stated to be a copy of an old document incised on a loose stone slab
which, being of no further use, was destroyed.

This
is also stated to be a copy from an old inscription on a slab which
latter was consequently cancelled. It records a gift of 13 kalanju of gold by one
Paramayogi a resident of Manimangalam, for burning a perpetual
lamp in the temple of Mahadeva at Tirukkodikaval, with the interest
thereon.

the north wall of the central shrine, Pushpavanesvara temple
This
records a gift of 96 sheep of made by Pisangan Korran Arkkattuvelan resident
of nanandur in Arkkattu-kurram, to the temple fo mahadeva at
Tirutturutti, fr burning a perpetual lamp in the shrine of the goddess
and for worship during a service therein called the santi-villa.
The sabha of Tirutturuti made themselves responsible for
the maintenance of this service by collecting 7 nali and an uri
of ghee every month from two shepherds with whom the sheep were left.

in the temple of Mahadeva at Tirutturutti by Soman Etti of
Nanandur. The sabha of
the place received the amount and agreed to maintain the lamp with an ulakku
of ghee daily.

This
records an endowment of 2 plots of land made tax-free after purchase by Muvenda-Pallavaraiyar
of Nalvayal in Sengunra-nadu for the daily offerings to the god in
the temple of Tiruvalakkoyil-Perumal at Kachchur in the same nadu, which
was a subdivision of Kalattur-kottam.

This
records a gift of 90 sheep for burning a perpetual lamp in the temple of
Madevar at Tirumaraikkadu by one Madevan.
An ulakku of ghee was to be supplied daily for the purpose
by the shepherds who received the sheep.
Mention is made of the liquid measure kana-nali.

records some provision (gift of sheep) for burning a perpetual lamp in the temple by one Palai
Erkutti a merchant of Tamaraippundi a devadana in Umbala-nadu.
Tirumaraikkadu was also in the same nadu.

Tirupparkadal,
Walajapet Taluk, North Arcot District

the south wall of the central shrine, Kharapurisvara temple
This
is built in the middle. This records an agreement by the maha-sabha of
Kavidippakkam alias Amaninarayana-chaturvedimangalam in
Paduvur-kottam through their Tank Supervision Committee to burn a
perpetual lamp in the local temple of Tirukkarapurattu-Perumanadigal and
in that of Tiruvagattisvarattu Perumanadigal at Pakkam.
For the former they received a piece of garden-land endowed by
one Sivapudi Achchanadan son of Mahasena-Kramavittar, and for the
latter, a gift of 50 (kasu) of pure gold from Sembiyan
Ilangovelar Pudi Adittar. This donor was evidently a Kodumbalur chieftain.
Mention is made of certain angamani-dravya (cash realized
by sale of ornaments) which was the property of the donorâs
(deceased) mother, out of which he is said to have purchased the land
endowed. An executive
official of the sabha called the Sirruratchi-kolvan who was
appointed for the year, was to look after the maintenance of the gift.

Somasi the wife of Atraiyan Kesvan Maran.
