Saka 1466 (1544 A.D.) 

Registers a gift of the income from the six village, Viramanallur, Kumara-mangalam, [N]angaipuram, Mulangudi, Tirumangalam and  . . . . .  . . .of Viluttandalai-sirmai by Chikka Timmaiyadeva-Maharaja who is stated to have routed Kuruvanniyar and restored the worship at the temple for providing pulugukappu (civet anointment) to the god every Friday.  The date viz. Saka 1466 (Chetasvasye) Krodhini, Rishabha, su. 6, Tuesday, Magha, corresponds to 1544, A.D. May 27, Tuesday, f.d.t., 02, f.d.n. .19.

Saka 1466 (1544 A.D.) 

The inscription records the gift of the village Kilaimuri Marudur in Pachchil-kurram in Malai-nadu, a sub-division of Vadagarai Rajarajavalanadu in Tiruchchirappalli-usavadi by Vitthaladeva-Maharaja, son of Timmayadeva Maharaja who had obtained the village as nayakkattanam from the king, for worship  and offerings to god at Tiruvarangama.  This donor also claims to have routed Kuruvanniyar and restored the worship in the temple (vide No. 453 above).  The date of the record, Saka 1466, Krodhin, Uttarayana, Rishabha, su. 6, Tuesday, Magha, correspond to 1544, A.D. May 27, Tuesday; f.d.t. 02; f.d.n. 19.

The record, written in Sanskrit in Grantha characters, gives the genealogy of Vitthala of the Aravidu family and registers the grant of some villages for providing offerings, worship etc, to god Sriranganatha.  Nalla-Timma, his elder brother made a chandraprabhu-vahana in silver, while Ahobala-Dikshita of Krishnapuram, probably their guru, presented a golden suryaprabha to the god for the god’s procession during festivals.  The inscription is not dated.  See Nos. 453-54 above.

Date lost  

Fragmentary.  Seems to refer to a sarvamanya gift of land by Vitthaladeva-maharaja for the Masi festival in the temple.  The details of the gift and the date are lost.

Shrine of the goddess Ranganayaki, tiers, north west and south walls.

Saka 1466 (1544 A.D.) 

Registers the annual income of the gift village Cholanganallur as poliyuttu for expenses towards offering and Friday services to the goddess by Parasara Bhattan Sikkayangar (Chikkayyangar) of Harita-gotra and Apastamba-sutra, the priest (purohita) of Srirangesa (i.e. god Ranganatha).  The gift village is stated to have formed the western hamlet (padagai) of Tiruvellarai in Vadavali-nadu, in Amur-nadu, a division in Pachchil-kurram in Malai-nadu in Rajaraja-valanadu.  The details of the date viz., Saka 1466, expressed by the Chronogram tatavandye Krodhini, Uttarayana, Rishabha su. 6, Tuesday, Magha correspond regularly, to 1544 A.D. May 27, Tuesday, f.d.t. 2; f.d.n. 19.

II Prakara, convolute tier around Chandana-Mandapa

Saka 1467 (1545 A.D.) 

Highly damaged.  The details of the gift are lost.  The date of the record is Saka 146[7], Visvavasu, Mesha, su. Tuesday, Paurnami, Hasta.  The Saka year corresponds to 1545 A.D., but the details of the date are irregular.  In the year Visvavasu corresponding to 1545 A.D. there were two Paurnamis in Mesha; the first was the Chaitra Paurnami which was a Saturday and the other the Vaisakha-Paurnami which was a Sunday.  In neither case could the nakshatra have been Hasta.

IV Prakara, south wall, proper right of the Aryabhattal-Vasal

Saka 1468 (1546 A.D.) 

Registers a gift of a village (name lost), exclusive of the lands in it that had been already endowed, as manya by Vitthaladeva-Maharaja, son of Timmarasa of Atreya-gotra Apastamba-sutra and Yaju-sakha, for worship and offerings during the deities’ halt at the mandapa at Tandagai in the garden of the 2nd day of the festival and another endowment of some lands in another village (name lost) for daily offerings to god Vitthalesvara consecrated by the donor in theyear Paridapi (perhaps a mistake).  The date Saka, 1468, Parabhava, Rishabha su. 10, Friday, Uttiradam, is irregular.  In the year cited Rishaba su.  10 corresponded to 1546 A.D., May 10, but the week-day was Monday and the nakshatra, Uttiram.

Saka 1467 (1546 A.D.)    

Registers the gift of the village Chintamani by Mahamandalesvara Ramaraja-Sadasivadev-Maharaja to Srisaila-Purnacharya Tatacharya alias Avukku Tiruvenkadayangar who, in turn, made it over to god Ranganatha for offerings in the manner in which they were formerly conducted during the time of Nalantigal Narayana-Jiyar, for the merit of the Raya and the king.  Refers to the erosion of the river Kaveri into Srirangam and to its diversion near Chintamani during the time of Chola king, and to the compensation in land in the Kolak[u]ttai village granted to the brahmana residents of Chintamani.  The record is dated Saka 1467.  Visvavasu Phalguna su. 7 Monday, Rohini corresponding to 1546, A.D. February 8, Monday su. 8 (not 7); 43, 79.

Tirukkuraippan (Vamana) shrine, west wall.

Saka 1468 (1546 A.D.) 

States that Srirangadevarayar who was the disciple of Tatacharya built the garbha-griha, ardha-mandapa, maha-mandapa, gopura, etc. at Vamana-kshetra and endowed a village to the same.  Gives the epithet Srirangadeva-sikhamani to Tatacharya.  Except for the Saka and the cyclic years viz., 1468, Parabhava, no other details of the date are given.  The year corresponds to 1546 A.D.

Saka 1468 (1547 A.D.) 

Records the gift of Panaikkuruchchi in Atikamangalapparru-siramai towards food offerings to the god by Rangarajar, son of Manuvira Chokkaraja, a Svayam –vyakta-pradhana of Srirangam.  One fourth share of the offerings is allotted to the Alagiya-manavalajiyar-matha.  The details of the date viz., Saka 1468, Parabhava, Kumbha, su. 2, Monday, Uttiratradi, regularly correspond to 1547, A.D. February 21, Monday; 91, .71.

Plavanga (1547 A.D.) 

Records gift of cows for a lamp to the temple by Suryadevar Paliyappa-Mandradiyar, a merchant of Erulapura-nagaram.  The characters belong to the 16th century A.D.  The record is dated in Plavanga, Avani 9, but the details are insufficient for verification.  The cyclic year plavanga falling in the 16th century may correspond to 1547 A.D.

Saka 1469 (1547 A.D.) 

Records the gift of two villages Tenseri and Kattuvari of Venba-nadu in Pulipurambur-kurram by Surappa-nayaka.  Son of Aryakshatrakulamani puravaradhisvara  . . . . Adappam Peddappa-nayakkar of Kasypa-gotra.  Pulipurambur-kurram is stated to be a Nayakkattanam of the donor.  The king’s name has been erased.  However the details of the date given viz., Saka 1469, Plavanga, Makara, ba.  3 Thursday, Magha, regularly correspond to 1547 A.D., December 29, Thursday 37; 90.

The portion of the record containing the details of the gift etc. is built in and covered up by the floor slabs.  The details of the date viz.  Saka 147[0] [Kilaka], Mesha, su. 12, Friday, Uttiram correspond to 1548 A.D., April 19, Thursday (not Friday), 72, 22.

Damaged and party built in.  Seems to record a gift of some land out of the sarvamanya village Melappakkam in Solasingapurapparru by Kandadai Appangar, son of Tolappar, the acharya of . . . . .  devaraja.  The details of the date viz., Saka 1470, Kilaka, Mina ba. 10, Friday correspond to 1549 A.D.  March 23, Saturday, not Friday

II Prakara, proper right Jamb at the western entrance into the Chandana-Mandapa. 

Seems to record some provisions made for various services and food offerings to the goddess Sriranga-nayakiyar, apparently by Kandadai-Appangar (vide No. 466 above), who is also assigned the donor’s share of the offerings.  Sriranganarayanapriyan, the accountant of the temple figures as a signatory in the record.

Incomplete.  Contains the date Saka 1471, Saumya, Vrishchika, Corresponding to 1549 A.D., November.  The details of date, viz. tithi 7, Saturday and Uttirattadi are irregular.  Seems to refer to some endowment made into the Sribhandaram of the temple.

Fragmentary and damaged.  Records an assignment of a share in the offerings to Tallapakkam Tirumalaiyangar, son of Annamayanagar (Cf. 496 of 1916 from Kanchipuram).  See No. 470 below.

Saka 1473 (1551 A.D.) 

Records gift of the income from the village Uttamasolanallur in Manappidinadu, a sub-disivion of Tiruchchirappalli usavadi for offerings to god by Narapparaja, son of Mahamandalesvara Nandyala Narasingaraja.  Refers to a previous gift of a portion of the income from the same village for a feeding house conducted by Siru-Tirumalaiyyangar, son of Talappakkam Periya-Tirumalaiyyangar.  The details of date viz., Saka 1473, Virodhikrit (for Virodhi) Vrischika, su. 10, Friday, Rohini are irregular.  If the tithi is a mistake for su. 15, the details agree for 1551 A.D., November 13, Friday, 38.; f.d.n. 19.

Incomplete.  Records gift of lands in Pattaiyiruppu and Malaiyanpettai in Melaimuri in Malanadu by . . . . . . Kondaya . . . . son of Timmaraja and grandson of Ramaraya of Somakula, Yajus-sakha, Apastamba -sutra.  The date viz. Saka 1474.  Paridapi, Mithuna, su. 3, Friday, Tiruvonam, may be equated with 1552 A.D., June 9, Thursday (not Friday), 58, f.d.n., 04, uf su. 3 is a mistake for ba. 3.

Damaged.  Seems to refer to an endowment of money made by Kurucheti Srirangaraja to the shrine of Kurattalvar.  The details of date viz.  Saka 1474 Paridhavan, Sravana ba. Srijayanti correspond to 1552 A.D., August 12, (Friday) 78; f.d.n. 21.  A fragment probably connected with this mentions Narayyangaru of Puttur as one of the purchasers of vrittis in Perangiyuru.

Saka 1475 (1553 A.D.) 

Registers gift of lands, after purchase, by Narasinga-Gangaya, son of Nagu-Setti of the Nedungumara-gotra, for offerings to the god every evening and for unguents and offerings on Fridays.  Mentions Gangayadeva-Maharaja and Vittaladeva Maharaja who were connected with lands which were given.  The date of the record viz.  Saka 1475, Paridhavin, (expired), Pramadieha (current), Mesha, su. 1, Thursday, Bharani, correspond to 1553 A.D. April 13, 67; 73.

Registers a gift by Ramaraja, son of Ramaraja Jagaraja of Aravind of the villages Pasaru in Valla-nadu, a subdivision of Tirupparutti-sirmai and Sembiyankalar for conducting festivals in the temple in the month of Vaigasi.  The details of the date, viz., Saka 1475, Pramadicha, Mithuna, ba. 10, Monday Revati, correspond regularly to 1553 A.D. June 5, Monday ;  81 ; 26.

Registers gift of the village Matteri in Kuluttandalai-siramai, by Krishnamman, wife of Aparchintala Periya-Timmaraja, son of Ramaraja Timmaraja of Aravidu, for offerings to the god and for feeding Srivaishnavas in the Kandadai Annan Ramanujakutam.  The details of the date viz, Saka 1475, Pramadicha, Mithuna, ba. 15, Saturday, Mrigasirsha correspond to 1553 A.D., June 10, Saturday, f.d.t 06, 61.

IV Prakara, south wall, proper right of the Aryabhattal-vasal

Saka 1476 (1554 A.D.) 

Records that Mahamandalesvara Obalaraja, son of Ramaraja Koneti-Ayyan of the lunar race and of the Atreya-gotra, Apastamaba-sutra and Yajus-sakha having constructed the Tiruppanalvar-mandapam which had fallen into ruins, endowed lands at Ramapuram and Akhilandapuram alias Ekaviramangalam assessed to yield 30 pon per annum for offering sand worship of the god when the deity halted in the mandapa on the occasion of the Viruppanna-Udaiyar-tirunal, the 5th day festivities in the month of Chittirai.  The details of the date viz., Saka 1475, Ananda, Simha, su.  Uttiradam may perhaps be equated with 1554 A.D., August 10, Friday on which day the nakshatra Uttiradam ended at .88 of the day.

Damaged.  Refers to an endowment of money.  The details of the gift are lost.  The details of the date, Saka 1478, Rakshasa, Chaitra,  . . . . .dvadasi are insufficient for verification.  They may be equated with 1555 A.D., April 3 (su. 12) or April 18 (ba. 12).

Damaged.  Seems to register a provision made for offerings to the god on the days of the asterisms of Bhupati-Udaiyar, Krishnarayar, Jaggaraja-Ramaraja, Koneti-Timmaraja etc., nine in all, by Timmaya . . . . . . . . . of the Bharadvaja-gotra Apastamba-sutra and Yajus-sakha and hailing from the northern country.  The date Saka 1477, Ananda (expired) and Rakshasa (current) Mesha su. 14, Friday, Hasta corresponds to 1555 A.D., April 5, Friday .89 .67.

Fragmentary and damged.  Seems to record a gift of the village Tirumalarajapuram named evidently after the son (Tirumalaraya) of Madraja Vengalaraja, by Konamman.  Also refers to a provision for offerings made for the merit of Lakshmamman, wife of Mutta-Ramarajar.  The details of date viz., Saka 1478, Nala, Kanni, su. 15, Saturday, Revati regularly correspond to 1556 A.D., September 19, Saturday, .17, .99.

Saka 1480 (1557 A.D.) 

Damaged and fragmentary.  Records a gift of land by Ekangi Narasingayya, a devotee of Bhattar, for the feeding of the Srivaishnavas.  The details of the date viz.  Saka 1480, Pingala, Asvija ba. 10, Sunday correspond to 1557 A.D., October 17, Sunday .37., the Saka year quoted being current.

Saka 1479 (1558 A.D.) 

Damaged.  Seems to record an endowment of a sum of 2,000 chakra varahas, probably towards the purchase of a village, and another, of 1,000 chakra-varahas in the year Kalayukti by Srirangaraja, son of Pochiraja of Atreya-gotra, Apastamba-sutra and Yajus-sakha for the worship of Kurattalvar and conducting the tirunakshatra (natal asterism) and the tiruvadhayayana festivals of Bhattar.  The details of the date viz. Saka 1479, Pingala, Pushya su. 12, Monday are irregular.  For the given details which correspond to 1558 A.D., January 1, the week day was Saturday and not Monday.

Records the gift of the village Adippuliyur in Ogaimagani, a sub-division in Ayppadi-sirmai, included in Tanjavur-usavadi in Sola-mandalam as tiru-vidaiyattam for offerings to god Sriranganatha, by Rayasam Venkata  . . . . . son of Gundamaraja Timmapparaja of Aruvelu community.  The details of date viz.  Saka 1484, Dundubhi, Karkataka, ba. 11, Saturday, Rohini, regularly correspond to 1562, A.D. July 25, Saturday, 78; .68.

Saka 1486 (1564 A.D.) 

Records a grant of 1 3/8 veli of land at Vikkiramangalam as tiruvidaiyattam and assessed to yield 18 pon per annum, towards provisions for the deities halt at Ammaiyar-pandal in Tirumudikkurai en route to Guhapriyam and offerings to the god on the 3rd day’s festivities of the Adi-Brahma festival, by Koneti Obalaraja of the lunar race and Atreya-gotra, and hailing from the north (Uttaradesam).  The details of the date viz. Saka 1486, Raktakshi, Dhanus su. 5 Friday, Avittam correspond to 1564 A.D., December 8, Friday, 68; 45.

Saka 1487 (1565) 

Registers an endowment in money made by Perumal-Jiyar with the interest on which offerings were to be made to god Sriranganatha, on the occasion of the sacred bath of the deity in the Kaveri on the Panguni-Uttiram day during the annual festival (Adi-Brahmavin-tirunal) in the temple.  The donor’s share of the offerings was assigned to Alagiyamanavala-Jiyar alias Senapatidhurandhara alias Sriranganarayana-Jiyar.  The details of the date viz.  Saka 1487, Krodhana, Kanni, su. 3, Thursday, Vaisaka correspond to 1565 A.D., September 27, Thursday, 50; 55.

Shrine of the goddess RangaNayaki, tiers, north wall.

Saka 1488 (1566 A.D.) 

Records a poliyuttu grant of the income on certain lands in Vadavur alias Srirangarajapuram, a brahmadeya in Uraiyurkurram bought over from Ayyakki Narayana-Iranggappan and made over to Koyil-Kandadai Annan by Surasarai Sirran Emberumanardasan for conducting some specified service in the name of Kandadai Annan in the temple of the goddess during the ankurarpana on the occasion of the festivals named after Aliyaramaraja-Udaiyar, Krishnadeva-maharayar, Adi-Brahma, Viruppana-Udaiyar and Jaggaraja-Ramaraja, in the temple.  The details of the date viz.  Saka 1488, Kshaya, Vrishabha, ba. 11, Wednesday, Revati correspond regularly to 1566 A.D., May 15, Wednesday, 53; 62.

Kshaya (1566 A.D.) 

Partly built in.  Seems to record a provision made for celebrating the annual festivities for the Alvars.  The character are assignable to the 16th century and the details of the date viz. to the 16th century and the details of the date viz.  Kshaya, Mithunga su. 10, Wednesday may be equated to 1566 A.D., June 26 f.d.t. 04.

Facing the east wall of the Senaimudaliyar shrine

Date lost 

Damaged.  The record in 3 disconnected pieces is in Sanskrit, engraved in Grantha characters and seems to register a gift of the village Kilaikkovan-kudi to the temple by Kumara Achyutabhupa.  In the body of the text occur the name Sadasivaraya and towards the end, Tammarasa son of Apparasa.

Saka 1489 (1567 A.D.) 

Damaged.  Describes the ten avataras in verses and records gifts of lamps for Ranganatha, Lakshmi, Vishvaksena, Garutman etc. and gold for conducting festivals and offerings to the various deities by Kumara Achyuta, son of Chinna-Chevva and Murt-yamba.  The details of the date viz.  Saka 1489 expressed by the chronogram nidh-ibha-abdhi-chandra, Prabhava, Vaisakha su. The record is prefaced with a Sanskrit verse invoking blessings of god Rangasayin and a short Telugu prose passage stating that the inscription records the gifts made by Achyutappa-Nayaka, born to Chevvappa-Nayaka and Murti-amma by the grace of god Ranganatha.  The main inscription which is in Tamil registers the grant of 25 villages situated in Chola-Mandalam as Poliyuttu Yielding an aggregate amount of 6200 pon to be utilized for various services on specified occasions for the deities.  Among the persons entitled for a share in the offerings are mentioned the donor’s preceptor Sravinutula Srinivasacharyar, son of Tirumalai Tattaiyangar, Parasara Bhattar Ayyangar Tiruvengadacharyar, Viravalli Annayyangar and others.  The details of date viz., Saka 1492, Pramaoduta, Vrischika, su. (Panchami), Friday, Purvashada may be equated to 1570 A.D., November 2.  But the week day was Thursday and the nakshatra ended at 39 of the day.

Registers an endowment of 120 pon from out of the interest on which certain offerings were to be made to the god during the recitation (Tiruvadhayayana) of  Tiruvaymoli along with other sacred verses on the day of the asterism Tiruvadirai of Emberumanar (Ramanuja) in the month of Chittirai and the offerings distributed among the Srivaishnavas, piligrims and Ekankis.  The gift was made by Jiyyar Ramanuja–Jiyyar alias Ramanujadasa in the name of his esteemed guru Yatindrapravana-Prabhava Pillai Lokacharya-Jiyyar, himself a disciple of Paravastu Nayinar-acharya of Tiruvengadam.  This record is a good specimen of the manipravala style which is a characterstic of Vaishnava literature.  The record quotes the Divya-srisukti (i.e., Nalayira-divyaprabandham) of Periyalvar in giving the ingredients of the preparation called Akkaravadisil which is referred to in the work as Tiruvonam.  In describing Ramanuja extracts from Ramanuja-nurrantadi are freely quoted.  The record ends with a Sanskrit sloka written in Grantha invoking prosperity to Ramanuja’s teachings.  The details of the date viz., Saka 1534, Paridhavi, Mesha, su. 3, Thursday, Rohini regularly correspond to A.D. 1612, April 23; 86; 22.

Saka 1548 (1626 A.D.) 

Records an endowment probably of land by Alagiyasiyan, the Srikariyam officer of Tirumangai-Alvar and refers to the latter’s Divyaprabandham.  The details of the date viz., Saka 1547, Kshaya Karttigai 15, Vrischika su. 7, Thursday, Sadayam correspond to 1626, A.D., November 16, Thursday’ the day of the month is however 17 and not 15 ; 01 ; 75.  The Saka year quoted is wrong for 1548.

Registers a gift of land as tirunamattukkani to the temple.  The details of the date, viz., Saka 1547, Kshaya, Vrischika ba. 5, Monday, Pusam correspond to 1626, A.D. November 27, Monday, f.d.t. 11 ; 24.  The Saka year quoted is wrong for 1548.

The inscription is very faintly engraved.  The text being illegible, much of the details except the date Saka 1550, Vibhava, Wednesday, Hasta and the word poliyuttu, cannot be made out.

Saka 1556 (1633 A.D.) 

Registers an endowment of lands purchased for 80 pon by Nagaraja, son of Achyutayyaraja, the tanapati of Ramadevaraya, for food offerings to god Ranaganatha on the occasion of the deity’s halt at the mandapa on the banks of the Chandrapushkarini built by the donor himself, during the festivals conducted in the name of Krishnappa Nayakarayyan and Viruppana-udaiyar.  At the end of the record is the label Sarvarajavin sada servai.  The details of date viz., Saka 1556, Srimukha, Mithuna, su. Friday, Chittirai correspond to A.D. 1633, June 7, Friday, the tithi was 10 (not 12) .15, .06.

Saka 1558 (1636 A.D.) 

Registers an endowment of money as poliyuttu by Emaluranar, a Sattada Vaishnava, for offerings to the god on the occasion of the deity’s halt at the yagasala on the first day of Tiruppavitrattirunal.  The details of date viz., Saka 1558, Dhatu, Kanni, su. 3, Chittirai, Tuesday may be equated to 1636 A.D. August 23, 57 f.d.n. 26, but the solar month would be Simha and not Kanni.

Saka 1570 (1648 A.D.) 

Records a poliyuttu endowment of money for specified offerings to god at the . . . . .. .  mandapa on the 3rd of the Adi-Brahma’s festival by Iranganathayyan, son of Aditya Bhattar Tiruvanantalvar of Siriyavenmani.  The details of the date viz., Saka 1570, Sarvadharin, Mithuna su. 5, Thursday, Makha regularly correspond to 1648 A.D., June 15, Thursday, 66, 47.

III Prakara, Nalikettan-Vasal, south and west walls of the proper right Niche in the passage

Saka 1572 (1650 A.D.) 

Registers a poliyuttu gift by Cheruku Chennamanayakan for various offerings on the occasion when the deity was brought and seated in the mandapa in the grove which was also granted by the donor to the deity.  The writing is very faint and illegible and is a Palimpsest over an earlier record.  The prefaces in Telugu gives the details Uttirashadha of the date viz., Saka 1572, Vikriti, Margasira, ba. 5, Sunday, and the Tamil section that follows gives the details of date viz.  Saka 1572, Vikriti, Vrischika, su. 5, Sunday, Uttirattadi.  The intended date seems to be 1650 A.D., November 17, when the paksha was sukla and the star was Uttarashadha.

Saka 1574 (1652 A.D.) 

States that Ramanuja-Mahamuni constructed the Yajnasala-(mandapa) in the temple.  The record is in Sanskrit verse written in Telugu characters.  The details of the date viz.  Saka 1574, expressed by the chronogram Vasumatye, Nandana, Vaisakha su. bhadra, Atithi, correspond to 1652 A.D., April 5, Monday; su. (7)

Saka 1577 (1655 A.D.) 

Damaged and faintly engraved.  Seems to record a gift of money by Vasantarayan for conducting the sixth day festival of the Krishnayyatirunal of the god when the deity would be seated in the pavilion at Muttarasanallur.  Gives a long list of the various provisions made for the occasion.  The details of the date viz., Saka 1577, Manmatha, Dhanus, su. 3, Thursday regularly correspond to 1655, A.D. December 20, Thursday, 91; 62.

Saka 1583 (1661 A.D.) 

Registers an endowment of money poliyuttu by Potturaja Venganan, son of Tirumalai-nayakkar of the Nandakula-gotra for the 6th day festival of Adi-Brahma and other specified provisions for the god.  This is engraved over an earlier record of Kulottungachola whose Prasasti is partly traceable on the stones.  The details of the date viz., Saka 1583 Plava, Kanni, ba. 7, Wednesday, Rohini regularly correspond to 1661 A.D., September 4, Wednesday, f.d.t. 12: 80.

Damaged and partly built in.  Seems to record a grant of land probably in Sattanur, by [Chokka]natha-nayaka, (son of) Visvanatha-nayaka.  The date of the record viz., Saka 1584, [Subhakrit], Mithuna ba. 1 Sunday, Uttiradam, correspond regularly to 1662 A.D., June 22, 50, .95.

Damaged, Dated in the reign of Sri-Rangarajadeva-maharayar, the inscription records some provisions made for food offerings and their distribution.  Mentions Visvanatha-nayakkar and Chokkanatha-nayakkar. 

The details of date viz., Saka 1585, Sobhakrit, Makara, su. 13, Thursday and Mrigasirsha correspond to 1663 A.D., December 31, f.d.t. 30; f.d.n. 19.

Damaged and very lightly engraved.  Records an endowment by Adimula . . . . . .  Nambi-mudali for specified provisions in the temple of Emberumanar on the tirumugam (orders) of Visvanatha-nayaka Chokkanatha-nayaka.  The details of the date viz., Saka 1588, Parabhava, Mesha su. 7, Sunday, Punarpusam correspond regularly to 1666 A.D., April 1, Sunday, 74, f.d.n. 17.

Rayagopuram, huge stone pillar in the passage proper right

Saka 1588 (1666 A.D.) 

Records the gift of the village Vidivitankan and Pachchiyur situated in Tiruchirappalli-usavadi in Chola-mandalam to sixty Srivaishnava Brahmanas of Tirumugatturai Adivarahapuram by Visvanathanayaka-Chokkanatha-nayaka on the occasion of a lunar eclipse, the former for colonizing the donees and the latter for the Sirappukkattalai service to the god. The details of the date viz., Saka 1588, Parabhava, Mithuna su. 2, Sthiravara, Pushya regularly correspond to 1666 A.D. June 23, Saturday, f.d.t. 20; f.d.n. 14.  This is the only record in this temple which cites the reign of  Srirangadeva-maharaya of Vijayanagara.
