The
inscription records a gift of land by Rechi-bhatta of Kamme-vamsa, one
of
The Three Hundred Mahajanas
of Kalkere included in Hagaritaga-nadu, after
Purchasing it from Vikramanaka-dandadhipa,
the prabhu of Asmatataka (I, e., Kalkere), for the
feeding house (satra) of
the place when Mahamandalesvara Viunadevarasa was administering Hagaritage-nadu.
The gift was made with the consent of the Mahaianas of
Kalkere. The donor Rechibhatta is stated to be the son of
Padmanabha-bhattopadhyaya and grandson of Nandyanavedi.
The
record refers to the regnal year of Vira-Narayana who is identified with
the
Yadava king Bhillama on the ground that the Mahamandalesvara Viruparasa
and
Vikramanka dandadhipa are mentioned in other of this king.1

inscription states that at the request of Siridevi, the wife of
Boppana-nayaka,
To observe kshitiruha-nompi, Dandanayaka Mayideva, the minister of the king,
Planted a number of trees and established a charitu fair (dharma-santhe) in
Beviner situated in Tardavadi 1000, in the presence of Mummuridandas and
other of
Thirty-six-villages division. Boppana-nayaka was governing the
division of Thirty-six village as a subordinate of Mayideva.
It
also records a gift of land and house for the maintenance of the above
Charties made to Bandarasa, the manneya of Tarddavadi-1000
and to Boppana-
Nayaka by Mayideva. Further gifts of trees to the temples of
Taleyakavadeva,
Revanesvara and Bhogesvara and also to Somanatha-pandita, the composer
of the
Record, are registered.

Bhujagavail-kula while
Sarvadhikari Malleya-Sahaniwas governing Tarddavadi-nadu.
Also records other gifts to the same god by Mayideva-dandanayaka,

officer in charge of taxes, and by Brahmadeva-dandanayaka beaded by
Devaparasa,

Singhana. The earlier
Grant seems to be the same as the one referred to in the latter part of
the inscription. It records a gift for the benefit of the same temple,
by Rayamurari Jammugideva,
Bijjaladeva and others. It appears that this grant was discontinued and
was
Renewed during the time of Singhanadeva.

the reign of Singhana, Yuva
fell in A.D. 1215 and
in that year the tithi corresponded to June 28 which was a
Sunday and not Monday. Pushya-nakshatra coincided with the latter day.
The
inscription records a gift of oil for burning a perpetual lamp in the
temple of god[Kedara]deva, by the oil men of Purikaranagara.
It appears that Mayi-pandita was administrating
Purikaranagara at the time as a subordinate of the king.
The
writer of the inscription was a son of Rudrabhattopadhyaya.

latter part of the inscription, written in Kannada language, apparently
refers
To the same gift mentioned above. The donor is called here Taliyara
Mallayya.
It also records a gift of oil made by the Fifty-Families (Aivattokkalu)
of
Kumdumgola, for burning a perpetual lamp in the same temple. The
Thousand
Mahajanas of
Kumdumgula were to protect the gifts.

existing details are irregular. The paksha given, viz., Suddha
Is apparently wrong because of the mention of the solar eclipse.
Again, in the month
of Jyeshtha of the given year there was no eclipse at all. The tithi
also is lost. In
The previous month however, i. e. Nija-Vaisâakha, both the
lunar and solar eclipses
Occurred on Monday, the 7th and Wednesday, the 23rd
respectively in May, A. D.
1240.
The intended date seems to be A. D. 1240, May 23.
The
inscription mentions Mahapradhana, Senadhipati Bommeyanayaka.
