however, was su. 2 and not su . 7.
The
inscription records gifts of land benefit of the temple of Chandesvara
at kumbittage,
by
Mahasamanta Simgarasa of Siyalara family and Udayadityarasa. It also records gifts of land, garden and oil to
the same temple and also to the temple of Vinayaka and Adityadeva by Ketaladevi, queen of Tribhuvanamalladeva. The latter is said to have been ruling form
his camping place at Pounguppe.

This
record, written in Sanskrit and Kannada languages, is dated Saka 969
(in words),
Chalukya
âVikrama year 2, Pingala, Ashadha su. 12, Wednesday corresponding Regularly
to A. D. 1077 July 5. There is a second date in the record the details
of which are Saka 1000, Kalayukta, Madhumasa (Chaitra) Amavasya, Sunday. This corresponds to A. D.
1078, April 14. Saturday, on which day the tithi ended at 90.
This
inscription records the death of srinandi- Panditadeva of Surastra-gana
by the rite of Sallekhana observed for one month at Anesejjeya-basadi at
Purikaranagara. It also record the death on the second date of Bhaskaranandi-Pandita who is said to have
been the elder brother of the former.

record is dated the cyclic year Durmati, Pushya, ba.
Bhrigu-shashthi, Uttarayana
-Samkranti
corresponding to A. D. 1081, December 24.
The
inscription, which is incomplete, registers a grant made by Dona, the
younger brother of Mahasamantadhipati Eremayya who was administering the
Purigere-300, for the Jaina cult in Purikara. The gift was entrusted to
Narendrasena (II), of the Sena-gana in the Mula-sangha, the disciple of Nayasena Suri who in his turn
was the disciple of Narendrasena (I). It is stated that at the time of
the record the kingâs younger bother Yuvaraja (III) was governing the
two SixâHundreds (vis. Belvola-300 and Puriger â300), Banavasi
â12,000, Santalige-1000 and Kandur- 1,000.

was Wednesday.
The
inscription registers a
gift of land made by the Five âHundred members Headed
by Santi-setti of Purigere, after purchasing it form the Brahmanas with
the money which had accumulated with interst, granted, formerly to
Talara
Nagavaraman, a subordinate of Vavana- nripati, to Lakkana-setti, father of
Santi-setti,
For
the benefit of drawing water by picotta (eat) from the well called
Ratanada-bavi
When
Trailokyamalla Vira â Nolama-Pallava-permanadi-Jayasimhadeva was
governing Purigere-300., Belvola â300, Banavase-12000 and
Kander-1000. It refers to one Jayakeaief Sagara family as the
subordinate of Jayasimha.

bottom portion of the inscription is chiseled out. It mentions
Mahasamanta Simgarasa of Siyalara family, Udayaditya and Perggade
Chandimayya who was the Prabhu of Kumbittage.

Jnanasakti-pandita after purchasing it from the 420 Brahmanas of the agrahara Paldala.
The
record was composed by Karpparasa who was the son âin âlaw of
Mahasandhivigrahi, Dandanayaka Kalidasa âBhatta and the son of Chandra
and Chamambike. The engraver was Kavoja.

of two fragments, seems to record the renewal of an earlier gift for a
water âshed, students, etc., which had lapsed, by Mahamandalesvara
Kaliyammarasa, with the consent of the king who is stated to have
been
ruling from his capital kalyana.

Sridharayya and Dandanayaka Asapayya were administering Vaddaravula and
other taxes.

Kalyana.

The
record is dated Vira âVikrama, i.e., Chalukya â Vikrama year 21,
Dhatu, Pushya ba. 13, Sunday, Uttarayana- samkranti. The details given
are irregular. The tithi corresponds to January 14, Wednesday, A .D.
1097.But in the next year, I .e. A.D.
1098, the title corresponds to January 3, when the weekday was Sunday.
In neither case did the said Samkranti occur. The latter date, viz., A.
D. 1098, January 3 might be the intended date.
The
inscription records a gift, by the king, of land in Kareyabagu village
to the temple of Jinendra built by Kalasena of the Ratta family. It further records another gift of land by
the Ratta chief Sena II to
the sametemple. It also refers to a gift of land by the Ratta Chief
Kannakaira II to his guru Kanakaprabbasiddhantadeva.
Mahamandalesvara Kartavirya is mentioned as the feudatory of the king.
