KULEKUMATGI, SINDGI TALUK, BIJAPUR DISTRICT

Slab built into the left wall of Chandrasekharadeva  temple

  Tribhuvanamalla (Vikramaditya VI)---A D. 1077

The record is dated Chalukya –Vikrama  year 2, Pimgala, Pushya, su. 7, Sunday, Uttarayana – samkranti, corresponding to, A. D. 1077, December 24. The tithi, however, was su. 2 and not su . 7.

The inscription records gifts of land benefit of the temple of Chandesvara at kumbittage, by Mahasamanta Simgarasa of Siyalara family and Udayadityarasa. It also records gifts of land, garden and oil to the same temple and also to the temple of Vinayaka and Adityadeva by Ketaladevi, queen of Tribhuvanamalladeva. The latter is said to have been ruling form his camping place at Pounguppe.

LAKAHMESVR, SHIRHATTI TALUK, DHARWAR DISTRICT

Slab built into the will of the backyard of the Taluk Office 

Vikramaditya VI----A. D. 1077 –78

This record, written in Sanskrit and Kannada languages, is dated Saka 969 (in words), Chalukya –Vikrama year 2, Pingala, Ashadha su. 12, Wednesday corresponding Regularly to A. D. 1077 July 5. There is a second date in the record the details of which are Saka 1000, Kalayukta, Madhumasa (Chaitra) Amavasya, Sunday. This corresponds to A. D. 1078, April 14. Saturday, on which day the tithi ended at 90.

This inscription records the death of srinandi- Panditadeva of Surastra-gana by the rite of Sallekhana observed for one month at Anesejjeya-basadi at Purikaranagara. It also record the death on the second date of Bhaskaranandi-Pandita who is said to have been the elder brother of the former.

LAKSHMESVAR, SHIRHATTI  TALUK,  DHABWAR DISTRICT

Slab built into the wall of the backyard of the Taluk office  

Tribhuvanamalla (Vikramaditya VI ) ---A . D. 1081

The record is dated the cyclic year Durmati, Pushya, ba.  Bhrigu-shashthi, Uttarayana -Samkranti corresponding to A. D. 1081, December 24.

The inscription, which is incomplete, registers a grant made by Dona, the younger brother of Mahasamantadhipati Eremayya who was administering the Purigere-300, for the Jaina cult in Purikara. The gift was entrusted to Narendrasena (II), of the Sena-gana in the Mula-sangha, the disciple of Nayasena Suri who in his turn was the disciple of Narendrasena (I). It is stated that at the time of the record the king‘s younger bother Yuvaraja (III) was governing the two Six–Hundreds (vis. Belvola-300 and Puriger –300), Banavasi –12,000, Santalige-1000 and Kandur- 1,000.

Broken piece of a slab built into the front wall of the Ranganatha 

Tribbuvanamalla ( Vikramadhitya  VI ) – A. D. 1081-82

This record is dated Chalukya –Vikrama year 6, Durmati, the other details being Lost. It corresponds to A.D. 1081-82. The portion containing the details of the gift etc., is lost.

LAKSHMESVAR, SHIRHATTI TALUK, DHARWAR DISTRICT  

Slab record into the wall of the backyard of the Taluk office

Tribhuvanamalla ( Vikramaditya --- VI ) –A. D. 1082

This record is dated Chalukya – Vikrama year 6, Dundubhi, Vaisakha, su. 5, Thursday,corresponding to A. D. 1082, April 6. The weekday, however, was Wednesday.

The inscription  registers a gift of land made by the Five –Hundred members Headed by Santi-setti of Purigere, after purchasing it form the Brahmanas with the money which had accumulated with interst, granted, formerly to Talara Nagavaraman, a subordinate of Vavana- nripati, to Lakkana-setti, father of Santi-setti, For the benefit of drawing water by picotta (eat) from the well called Ratanada-bavi When Trailokyamalla Vira – Nolama-Pallava-permanadi-Jayasimhadeva was governing Purigere-300., Belvola –300, Banavase-12000 and Kander-1000. It refers to one Jayakeaief Sagara family as the subordinate of Jayasimha.

Tribhuvanamalla (Vikramaditya VI ) ---A. D. 1082

This record is dated Chalukya- Vikrama year 7, Dundubhi, Ashadha, amavasye Tuesday, corresponding regularly to A. D. 1082, June 28.

The bottom portion of the inscription is chiseled out. It mentions Mahasamanta Simgarasa of Siyalara family, Udayaditya and Perggade Chandimayya who was the Prabhu of Kumbittage.

HADLI, RAMDURG TALUK, BELGAUM DISTRICT  

Slab standing in front of the village Chavadi  

Tribhuvanamalla ( Vikramaditya VI )----A. D. 1084

This record is dated Chalukya- Vikrama year 9, Raktakshi, Chaitra, su .1 Monday, Corresponding  to A. D. 1084, March 10, the weekday being Sunday.

The inscription records a gift of land to god Gavaresvaradeva by the sage Jnanasakti-pandita after purchasing it from the 420 Brahmanas of the agrahara Paldala. The record was composed by Karpparasa who was the son –in –law of Mahasandhivigrahi, Dandanayaka Kalidasa –Bhatta and the son of Chandra and Chamambike. The engraver was Kavoja.

BEKKINAI, SINDGI TALUK, BIJAPUR DISTRICT  

Slab built into the raised platform of the darga outside the village  

Tribhuvanamalla ( Vikramaditya VI )—A. D. 1085

This record is dated Chalukya- Vikrama year 10, Krodhana, Paushya, su. 5, Monday, Uttarayana- samkramana corresponding to A. D. 1085, December 24.The weekday was, however, Wednesday.

The inscription, which  consists of two fragments, seems to record the renewal of an earlier gift for a water –shed, students, etc., which had lapsed, by Mahamandalesvara Kaliyammarasa, with the consent of the king who is stated to have been ruling from his capital kalyana.

TAVARKHED, SINDGI TALUK, BIJAPUR DISTRICT  

Slab standing in front of the Hanuman temple [ Vikramaditya VI] ---A.D. 1086

This record is dated Chalukya – Vikrama year 10, Krodhana, Phalguna,su. 1, Sunday.  The tithi corresponds to A. D. 1086, February 17, the weekday being Tuesday.  

The inscription records a gift of 100 mattars of land at Elamela by Mandalika Nayimarasa. The record falls in the reign-period of Vikramaditya VI.

KALKERI, HANGAL, TALUK, DHARWAR DISTRICT

Slab set up near the Somesvara temple   

Tribhavanamalla (Vikramaditya VI) ----A. D. 1088

This record is dated Chalukya – Vikrama year 13, Vibhava, Paushya, ba, 1, Sunday, Lunar eclipse, corresponding to A. D. 1088, December 31.The eclipse occurred on the previous day .

The inscription, which is damaged, records of a gift of income from certain taxes, for the worship and offerings in a temple (name lost), by Mahamatya Perggade Changadevayya and other when Dandanayaka Sridharayya and Dandanayaka Asapayya were administering Vaddaravula and other taxes.

KANNOLLI. SINDGI  TALUK, BIJAPUR DISTRICT  

Slab built into the right wall of Hanuman temple  

Tribhuvanamalla ( Vikrmaditya VI ) ---A. D. 1094

This record is dated Chalukya- Vikrama year 19, Bhava, Chaitra, su. 1 Sunday, Corresponding to A. D. 1094, March 19, Sunday, f.d.t. 14.

This badly damaged inscription seems to register a gift of land, garden, and oil-mills by Pattamahadevi Mailalamahadevi, queen of Vikramaditya. She seems to have been administering Kannavalli while the king was ruling from his capital Kalyana.

SAUNDATTI, PARASAGAD TALUK, BELGAUM DISTRICT

Slab set up in the Basti- gudi   Tribhuvanamalla ( Vikramaditya VI ) ---A. D. 1098 (?)

The record is dated Vira –Vikrama, i.e., Chalukya – Vikrama year 21, Dhatu, Pushya ba. 13, Sunday, Uttarayana- samkranti. The details given are irregular. The tithi corresponds to January 14, Wednesday, A .D. 1097.But in the next year, I .e. A.D. 1098, the title corresponds to January 3, when the weekday was Sunday. In neither case did the said Samkranti occur. The latter date, viz., A. D. 1098, January 3 might be the intended date.

The inscription records a gift, by the king, of land in Kareyabagu village to the temple of Jinendra built by Kalasena of the Ratta family. It further records another gift of land by the Ratta chief Sena II to the sametemple. It also refers to a gift of land by the Ratta Chief Kannakaira II to his guru  Kanakaprabbasiddhantadeva. Mahamandalesvara Kartavirya is mentioned as the feudatory of the king.

YARGAL (BHUJRUKH), SINDGI TALUK, BIJAPUR DISTRICT

Slab built into the wall of Ramalinga temple Tribhuvanamalla (Vikramiditya VI) A.D. 1098

This record is dated in the cyclic year Bahudhanya, Asvayuja, punname, Monday, Falling in the reign of Tribhuvanamalla and regularly corresponding to A.D.1098, September 13.

The inscription is badly damaged and effaced. It seems to register a gift to God Svayambhu-Ramesvara, and others. It refers to the trade-guild of the 500 Svamis of Ayyavole.

MALGHAN, SINDGI TALUK, BIJAPUR DISTRICT

Slab learning against the right wall inside the

Basavanna temple Tribhuvanamalla (Vikramaditya VI)—A.D.1100

This record is dated Chalukya-Vikrama year 25, Vikrama, Pushya, ba. 6, Monday, Uttarayana-samkranti corresponding to A. D. 1100, December 24.

It records a gift of land and house-site by Antahpura-verggade and DandaNayaka Vamadevayya for worship and offerings to god Adityadeva, Kesavadeva and Vamesvaradeva which were installed by him at Mallagana which was situated in Kummasi-30 of Tarddavadi-1000 division and which was a sarvvanamasya-agrahara Of Puranada Divakarabhattopadhyaya. The king is stated to have been camping On the Bhimarathi while proceeding to the west against Bhoja.

MALGHAN, SINDGI TALUK, BIJAPUR DISTRICT

Same slab as in No. 64   Tribhuvanamalla (Vikramaditya VI)—A.D. 1101

This record is dated Chalukya-Vikrama year 25, Magha, su. 3, Friday, the name Of the year being lost. If the cyclic year is Vikrama as in No. 64, the details of the Date would correspond to A.D.1101, January 4.

This slightly worn out-record seems to register a gift of garden and to god Traipurushadeva made over to Divakara – bhattopadhayaya by Vamade [ vayya ] at the Time of the construction of a well.

LAKSHMESVER, SHIRHATTI TALUK, DHARAWAR  DISTRICT

Slab built into the wall of the backyard of the Taluk Office Vikramaditya VI ---A. D. 1102

This record is dated Chalukya-Vikrama year 27, Chitrabhanu. Ashabha, su 5, Sunday, corresponding  to A. D. 1102, June 22.

The inscription registers a gift of income from taxes to god Muddesvara in the Temple of Svayambhu – Somesvara at Poligere by Dandanayaka, Achchupamnayadadhi- Shthayaka Madhava-bhatta who was a subordinate of Mahasamantadhipati, ManeVerggade Bhivanayya who was administering the achchupannaya tax of Palasige-12,000, The gift was entrusted to Mahendrasoma – pandita, the acharya of the temple .

KONDGULI,SINDGI TALUK, BIJAPUR DISTRICT 

slab fixed into the left outer wall of Hanuman temple 

Tribhuvanamalla (vikramaditya VI)--A.D.1107

This record is dated chalukya-Vikrama year 32, sarvajit, Amavasya,Monday, solar eclipse, corresponding to A.D.1107,March 25 f.d.t., 36.But there was no eclipse on that day.

This badly damaged inscription register a gift of land to the temple of jyotisvara for worship, offering and repairs and for the maintenance of the priest of the temple. It mentions the sarvanamasya-agrahara Kondaguli.

KONDGULI, SINDGI TALUK, BIJAPUR DISTRICT

On the face of a broken pillar set up on the bund of the well outside the village

Tribhuvanamalla   ( vikramaditya VI ) --- A. D. 1107

This record is dated Chalukya-Vikrama year 32, Sarvajit, Asvayuja, Amavasya Solar eclipse, Wednesday, corresponding to A. D.1107, October 16, Wednesday. f. d. t. 98. No eclipse, however, occurred on that day.

The inscription is badly damaged and seems to record a gift of toll- incomes, for The benefit of god Somanatha, by Sunkaverggade Madhava- Senadhipati, Heggade Madeyanayaka and other.

KONDGULI, SINDGI TALUR, BIJAPUR DISTRICT

First face of a broken pillar set up on the bund of the well

out side the village Tribhuvanamalla ( Vikramaditya VI ) ---A . D. 1107

This badly damaged record is dated Chalukya – Vikrama year 33, Sarvajit, Marggasira, Amavasya, Monday, solar eclipse, regularly corresponding to A. D. 1107, December 16.

This inscription is in two fragments and registers a gift land, measured by The Bandhuchintamani pole, by Mahapradhana Dandanayaka Kesirajarasa of the Vaji- kula to the temple of Somesvara constructed by him at Kondaguli.

YELIVAL, KUNDGOL TALUK, DHARWAR DISTRICT

Slab built into a wall of Kalamesvara temple

Tribhuvanamalla ( Vikramaditya  VI 0--- A . D. 1108

This record is dated Chalukya –Vikrama year 33, Sarvadhari, Ashadha, Amavasya, Wednesday, solar eclipse. The solar eclipse occurred on Jyeshtha amavasya according to which the corresponding dated would be A. D. 1108, June 10, Wednesday. d. t. 15.

This damaged inscription seems to a gift of three stalls to a deity (name lost ) By Kesiyanna in the presence of the Thousand Mahajanas of Kumdumgula.
