HATTIYAṄGAḌI, COONDAPOOR TALUK, SOUTH KANARA DISTRICT

Slab set up inprākāra of the Lōkanāthēśvara temple

1577 A.D.

This record is dated Śaka 1499, Īśvara, Chaitra śu. 15, Tuesday corresponding to 1577 A.D., April 2.

It registers a gift of income from taxes like bēḍige birāḍa etc, levied on the dēvasva lands of the deities in Guḷavāḍi of Hārū-nāḍu and those of god kōṭiśvara of Kuḍakūru, to god Lōkanātha of Haṭṭiyaṅgḍi for conducting regular worship according to the period, by Baṁkiyarasa alias Honneya Kaṁbaḷi-voḍeya.

TEXT

1 ಶ್ರೀಗಣಾಧಿಪತಯೇನಮಂ ಶ್ರೀಸರಸ್ವತ್ಯಾಯನಮಂ ಶ್ರೀಗುರುಭ್ಯೋಂನಮಂ’
ನರ್ವಿಮ್ಮಮಸ್ತು ನಮಸ್ತುಂಗಂ –

2 ಶಿರಶ್ಚುಂಬಿ ಚಂದ್ರಚಾಮರಚಾರವೇ ತ್ರಯಿಲೋಕ್ಯ ನಗರಾರಂಭ ಮೂಲಸ್ತಂಭಾಯ
ಶಂಭವೇ ಸ್ವಸ್ತಿಶ್ರೀ ವಿಜಯಾ-

3 ದ್ಭುದಯ ಶಾಲಿವಾಹನ ಶಕವರು[ಷ] 1499 ಸಂದು ಉಪರಿ ಸಲುವ
ವರ್ತಮಾನ ಯಿ[ಶ್ವ]ರ ಸಂತ್ಸರದ ಚಯಿತ್ರಶುದ್ಧ

4 15 ಮಂಗಳವಾರದಲ್ಲೂ ಶ್ರೀಮತು ಹಟ್ಟಯಂಗಡಿಯ ಲೋಕನಾಥದೇವರ
ದಿವ್ಯಶ್ರೀ ಪಾದಪದ್ಮಂಗಳಿಗೆ ಬಂಕಿಯರಸರಾ[ದ]

5 ಹೊಂನೆಯ್ಯ ಕಂಬಳಿ ವೊಡೆಯರು[ವೊ]ಡವಟು ಕೊಟ ಸಹಿರಣ್ಯೋದಕ
ದಾನಧಾರಾಪೂರ್ವಕದ ದಾನಪಟ್ಟಿಯ ವ[ಖ]ಣೆಯ

6 ಕ್ರಮವೆಂತೆಂದರೆ ನಂಮ ಹಾ[ರು*]ನಾಡಸೀಮೆಯ ಗುಳವಾಡಿಯ ಮಂದಿನಲಿ
ದೇವರ ದೇವಶ್ವಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಲುವ ಭೂಮಿಯಮೇ-

7 ಲೆ ಕುಡುಕೂರ ಕೋಟೀಶ್ವರದೇವರ ದೇವಶ್ವದ ಭೂಮಿಗಳಮೇಲು ಕಾ[ಲ]ಕಾಲಂ
ಪ್ರತಿಯಲೂ ನಂಮ ಅರಮನೆಗೆ ಬೇಡಿಗ ಬಿರಾ-

8 ಅನಯಸಯ ಅಕರ ಮುಂತಾದ ಹಣಹೊಂನುಗಳಂನ್ನು ಹಿಂದೆ ಕಾಲಕಾಲಂ
ಪ್ರತಿಯಲು ನಂಮ ಅರಮನೆ-

9 ಗೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬರುತಯಿದವಾಗಿ [ಆ] ಹಣ ಹೊಂನು ಯೇನುಂಟಾದರೂ
ಕುಡುಕುರ ಕೋಟೀಶ್ವರದೇವರ ದೇವಸ್ತಾನಕ್ಕೆ
