HATYAṄGAḌI, COONDAPOOR TALUK, SOUTH KANARA DISTRICT

Slab (No.2) set up in the prākāra of the Lōkanāthēśvara temple

1575 A.D

This record engraved below No. 423, confirms a gift of land to the god Lōkanāthadēva made by the two brothers Duggaṇa-Koṅga and Timmappa koṅga and by Baṁkiyarasa alias Hoṅnaya-kaṅbaḷi-voḍeya alias Ammidēvi-amma. The two donors had inherited the gift land from their grand-mother Sūramma-seṭṭi. The latter had received the same in the year plavaṅga as kanyādāna from her grand-father Hiriya- Hoṁneya-Kaṁbaḷi-voḍeya alias Baṁki-arasa who, for that purpose, purchased the land from Yisara-aḍah, son of Kōṭīsara-aḍaha for 300 varāha-gadyāṇas.

It is dated Śaka 1498, Yuva, Vaiśākha-amāvāye, Tuesday corresponding to 1575 A.D., May 10. The Saka year was current.

1        ಸ್ವಸ್ತಿಶ್ರೀ ಜಯಾಭ್ಯುದಯ ಶಾಲಿವಾಹನ ಶಕವರುಷ 1498 ನೆಯ
          ಯುವಸಂವತ್ಸರದ ವೈಶಾಖ ಬಹುಳ ಅಮಾವಾಸೆಯ ಮಂಗಳವಾರದಲು
          ಶ್ರೀ ಮತು ಬಂಕಿಯರಸ ಹೊಂನೆಯ –

2        ಕಂಬಳಿ ವಡೆಯರಾದ ಅಂಮಿದೇವ ಅಂಮನವರು ಹಟ್ಟಿಯಂಗಡಿಯ
          ಲೋಕನಾಥದೇವರಿಗೆ ವೊಡವಂಟು ಕೊಟ್ಟ ಧರ್ಮಶಾಸನದ ಪಟ್ಟಿವಕ್ಕಣೆಯ
          ಕ್ರಮವೆಂತೆಂದರೆ ಹಿರಿಯ ಹೊಂನೆ –
