TRASI, COONDAPOOR TALUK, SOUTH KANARA DISTRICT

Hero-stone set up by the road side in the village

1546 A.D.

This damaged record is stated to have been set up by Kiri-tāyi Basava-nāyakiti probably in memory o the death of a hero. It refers to Honnādēvi-amma, the ruler of the maneya of Hāḍuvali and to the bhanḍari (treasury) of Saṅkaradēvi-amma, It is dated Śaka 1462, Viśvāvasu, The cyclic year corresponds with Śaka 1467 (1545-46 A.D.)

It is dated Śaka 1468, Parābhava, Kārttika ba. 1, Vaḍḍavāra, The tithi corresponds to 1546 A.D., November 8, the weekday being Monday.
