HATYAṄGAḌI, COONDAPOOR TALUK, SOUTH KANARA DISTRICT

Slab (No. 3) set up in the prākāra of Lōkanāthēśvara temple

1545-46 A.D.

       It is dated Śaka 1462, Viśvāvasu. The cyclic year corresponds with Śaka 1467 (1545-46 A.D.)

       The record specifies the amount of paddy to be supplied to the Lōkanāthadēva temple from the lands, whose boundaries etc. are given, situated at Gulavāḍi. It also registers two other gifts of land made to the same temple respectively by Nandiyāḷuva and Nāraṇa, grandsons of Dāruseṭṭi-gaḷutti and by Mallayya-mugila, son of Nāraṇa-hegaḍe, The first of those two gifts was made in the year Iśvara, Bhādrapads śu. 1, Tuesday.

       The second gift was made in the summer month of the cyclic year piṅgaḷa.
