SHIRTĀḌI, KARKAL TALUK, SOUTH KANARA DISTRICT

Slab set up in front of Baidarkal Bhūtanātha

1530 A.D.

This record is dated Śaka 1453 Vikṛiti, Mēśa 15, Sunday corresponding to 1530 A.D., April 11 when the Śaka year was current and the weekday Monday.

It states that Dēvaṇṇa-arasa alias Koṁna got a new temple (of Sōmanātha 7) constructed at Ārjunāpura and made a gift of 75 varāha-gadyāṇas to koṭyaṇa-āḷva for conducting worship in the temple. It also records a gift of tax-free land to the deity by Chennarāja-oḍeya. Ramasēnabōva wrote the record.
