VAḌḌARŚE, UDIPI TALUK, SOUTH KANARA DISTRICT

Slab standing in the Māvinakṭṭe-hāḍi

Sadāśivarāya, 1557 A.D.

This badly damaged record seems to register a gift of money income as uṁbaḷi from Bannāḍi in Voḍarase probably to god Nārāyaṇadēva of Koṭe-kēri by Mallappoḍeya who was governing Bārakūru-rājya under the orders of Sadāśivarāya-nāyaka of Keḷadi who was appointed as the governor of that territory, by the king.

The record is dated Śaka 1478 (1479 current), Naḷa, Māgha śu 1, Thursday corresponding to 1557 A.D., January 1. The weekday, however, was Friday.
