ŚAṄKAGIRI, TIRUCHCHENGODU TALUK, SALEM DISTRICT

South wall of the central shrine in the Sōmēśvara temple

[Sadāśivarāyal], 1544 A.D.

This badly damaged and fragmentary record seems to register the remission of taxes on barbers. The extant portion of the record refers to the month of Kārttika in the cyclic year Krōdhi, the date falling on someday in October-November 1544 A.D.
