BAINDŪRU, COONDAPOOR TALUK, SOUTH KANARA DISTRICT

Slab built into the compound wall of a private house
near the Śayanēśvara temple

Sadāśivarāya, 1559 A.D.

This record is dated Śaka 1482, Siddhārthi, Vaiśākha śu. 15, the given tithi corresponding to 1559 A.D., April 21, the Śaka year being current. The details are not verifiable.

It records a gift of tax-free land by Sēnabōva-seṭṭi, son of Baḷi- seṭṭi, the seṭigāra of Chārabaḷi, to the maṭha caused to be constructed by him to the west of the Sēnēśvara temple. It states that mahāmaṇḍalēśvara Chenna-Bayirādēvi was governing Baidūru and other areas from her capital at Saṅgītapura.
