ACHLĀḌI, UDIPI TALUK, SOUTH KANARA DISTRICT

Slab standing in the ‘Kolagēri’ field

Sadāśivarāya, 1542 A.D.

This badly damaged record seems to register a gift of 135 kāṭi- gadyāṇas for the welfare and prosperity probably of the king, the details of donor etc. are all lost. Acheppoḍeya of Harita-gōtra and Āśvalāyane-sūtra seems to have been ruling a division, probably Bārakūru-rājya under the command of Maleyappa-ayya who had been entrusted by the king with the administration of that territory.

It is dated Śaka 1464 (1465 current), Vaiśākha śu. 7, Vaḍḍavāra corresponding to 1542 A.D., April 22.
