22 ಗ 162 ಹೊನ್ನು ಅಕ್ಷರದಲು ನೂಱ ಅಱುವತ್ತೆರಡು ಹೊನ್ನು ಯಿ ಹೊನ್ನು
ನಿನಉ್ರದ್ಧಿ ಬಂ –

23 ೦ದರೂ ಆರ್ತ್ಥಬಂದರೂ ಯಿ ಧರ್ಮ್ಮಕ್ಕೆ ಅ ಬೋವನ ವುಡುಪನ ಬಾಳಮೇಲೆ
ಯಿಪ್ಪತ್ತು ಹಾ –

24 ನೆ ಭತ್ತದ ತೆಱು ಹೆರಾಂಜಡ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಸಂಕೆರುಡುಪನ ಬಾಳಮೇಲೆ ಅ ದೇವರಿಗೆ

UPPUNDA, CONNDAPOOR TALUK, SOUTH KANARA DISTRICT

Slab (No.3) set up in the outer prākāra of the Durgā-paramēśvari
temple

Dēvarāya 11, 1446 A.D.

This record is dated Śaka 1369, Kshaya, Vaiśākha śu. 5, Sunday. The tithi corresponds to 1446 A.D., May 1, the month being Nija-Vaiśākha. The Śaka year was current.

It registers a gift of land and house-site free from taxes for providing pañchavādya and śrībali in the temple of Durgā-Parmēśvari of Uppugunda by Dēvaṇṇa-seṭṭi son-in-law of Kuppi-seṭṭi, The donor seems to have purchased the gift land and house-site from out of the siddhāya collected from the nāḍu of Uppugunda and also from himself, when mahāpradhāna Ācharasavoḍeya was governing Bārakūru- rājya under the orders of Mahāpradhāna Mādaṇṇa-daṇṇāyaka who is started to have been administering the rājya. Nāraṇa-dēvarasa son of Saṅgaṇṇajīya-voḍeya had this stone engraved upon by Mallapa son of Bhayiraṇṇa-nāyaka at the instance of Acharasa-voḍeya.
