Siddhalingamadam, Tirukkoyilur Taluk, South Arcot District Same wall.

Tribh Vikramacholadeva: Year 13=1130-31 A.D. 

This inscription records a gift of a nanda lamp for use in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple of Tiruppulippagavadevar in Sirringur, a brahmadeyam in Kurukkaik-kurram in Maladu alias Jananatha-valanadu by a certain Kayirur Pichchan Araisan of Anattar Siruvennainallur (?) in Elur-nadu who was also the Kilan of Tirumunaipadi.  It is stated that he endowed a sum of 8 7/8 kalanju of pon for this purpose and the same was received by the Sivabrahmanas of the temple who had agreed to carry out the object of the endowment for ever. 

Also records the gift by the same donor 80 palam in weight of metal, weighed by the balance called Tirumaltiruppattak-kol, for the (making of) the nanda lamp.

It refers to Sirringur in Kurukkaik-kurram in Maladu alias Jananatha-valanadu.

Siddhalingamadam, Tirukkoyilur Taluk, South Arcot District

North wall of the same mandapa.

Tribh Vikramacholadeva: Year 3=1120-21 A.D. 

This inscription records a gift of a standing nanda lamp for lighting the sanctum sanctorum of the temple of the god Tiruppulippagavar-devar of Sirringur, a brahmadeyam in Kurukkaik-kurram in Maladu alias Jananatha-valanadu by a certain Sadiri, the daughter of Malaiyan alias Rajendrasolach-chedirayan and wife of Tillainayakan Devarkandan, the resident (or owner of the northern bank of Peringur in Tirumunaippadi Peringur-nadu in Gangaiykondasola-valanadu.  It is stated that she gave 32 cows, 16 on the spot and 16 to be purchased for an amount of 91/5 Anradu Narkasu at the rate of ½ and one and a half ma of kasu a cow.  It is further stated that the Sivabrahmanas of the temple received the 16 cows and the money equivalent for another 16 cows and had agreed to burn the lamp as desired by the donor. 

It also records that the donor woman gave 70 palam of bell-metal for making the standing lamp, necessary quantity of bronze for an eating plate (parikalam) and 29 palam of bell-metal for a tripod (attanaikkal) and one kasu.  The Sivabrahmanas received these articles and the money with an undertaking that they themselves would attend to the repairs of these articles.

Tribh Vikramacholadeva: Year 4: 1121-22 A.D. 

This inscription records the sale of land, 700 kuli in extent, as tax-free devadana by the mahasabhai of Sirringur, a brahmadeyam in Kurukaiy-kurram in Maladu alias Jananatha-valandu for an amount of money (not specified) agreed to by the sabhai, to a certain Adavallan Vasudevan alias Mudikondasola Muvendavelan, the madhyastha of Munnuru alias Panditagoshthi-saruppedi-mangalam in Oyama-nadu.  It is stated that he endowed it to provide for the services and offerings connected with the procession on every Sunday and the morning worship of the god Tiruppulippagavadevar.

Parakesarivarman alias Tribh Vikramacholadeva : Year 15=1132-33 A. D.

This inscription contains the prasasti  of the king commencing with pumadu punara puvimadu valara, etc., It mentions the queen Tiribuvanamulududaiyal.

It records the gift of two veli of land, after purchase, as itaiyili devadana  for worship and offerings to the image of the goddess of the holy bed-room in the temple of the god Tiruppulippagavadevar in Sirringur, a brahmadeyam  in Kurukkaik-kurram in Miladu in Irajaraja-valanadu, by a certain Alavandal, daughter of Malaiyaman Nanurruvan Malaiyan alias Irajendirasolachchediyarayan of Kiliyur in Tirumunaippadi-Dama-nadu, and wife of Malaiyaman Iraman Surriyan alias Irajendirasola Malaiyakularayan of the same place.

It is stated that she caused the above-mentioned image to be set up for the merit of her mother (achchi) Udaiyan Suryadevi alias Niraitavanjeydal. It is stated that the land was purchased  by Alavandal through Vikiramasolachediyarayan, son of Irajavirajendirasolach-chediyarayan. Of the two veli of land, one veli in Sirringur was to be a kudi-ninga devadana  and to be cultivated by the sabhai of the place who should pay the income to the god. It is stated that the donor also gave two kasu to the sabhai in this connection.

This inscription is built in at the bottom.

It records the sale of 1,500 kuli of land for a sum of 15 AnraduNarkasu,  to the temple of the god Tiruppulippagavadevar in Sirringur, a brahmadeya,  in Kurukkaik-kurram in Maladu alias Jananatha-valanadu, by certain people of the same place, named Bharadvaji Kumarasvami Tiruppulipagavan, Attraiyan Tiruvannamalai-udaiyan Uyyavandan-bhattan and Attraiyan Venkadudevan Akalankan.

This inscription is slightly damaged.

It records the sale of 455 kuli of land for a sum of 4 ½ Anradu Narkasu  by two persons named Bharadvaji Nakkapiran Tiruppulipagavan and Kasyapan Tiruvannamalai Kumarasvami of Sirringur, a brahmadeyam  in Kurukkaikkurram in Maladu alias Jananatha-valanadu, to the temple of the god Tiruppulippagavardevar of the same place.

Parakesarivarman alias Tribh Vikramacholadeva : Year 2=1119-20 A. D.

This inscription contains the prasasti of the king commencing with Pumadu punara punvinadu valara, etc., and mentions the queen Mukkokkilanadigal. 

It records a gift of land, by purchase, 500 kuli in extent, as devadana to the temple of the god Tiruppulippagavadevar of Sirringur, a brahmadeyam  in Kurukkaik-kurram in maladu alias Jananatha-valanadu, by Nilisingi, the wife of Malaiyaman Tirukkalaimarundu alias Alvanangakkara Malaiyaman of Kiliyur in Tirumunaippadit-Dama-nadu. The gift was intended for various items of worship and offerings to the above-mentioned deity for the processions conducted on all Amacasi days, fifty two in number, in a year. The land was purchased from the mahasabhai of Sirringur for a sum of 3 Anradu Narkasu  by the donor. The inscription gives a detailed list of articles offered at the worship and their equivalents in rice.

Tribh Vikramacholadeva : Year 7=1124-25 A.D. 

This inscription is built in at the bottom and hence a few details of the gift are not available. 

It records a gift of a sandhi lamp to the temple of the god Tiruppulippagavadevar of Sirringur, a brahmadeyam, in Kurukkai-kurram, in Maladu alias Jananatha-valanadu, by a certain Semmarudaiyan Solan Vichchadiran of Semmaru in Emapperrur-nadu in Tirumunaippadi in Gangaikndasola-valanadu.  It appears that the endowed some money in respect of this, which was accepted by two Sivabrahmanas of the temple, named Bharadvaja Pulliyan Sivabattan alias Nanurruva bhattam and Bharadvaja Marundu Porkoyil-nambi.

Vikramacholadeva: Year 5=1122-23 A.D.

This inscription is built in on the left side and at the bottom. 

It records is built on the left side and at the bottom. 

It records the gift by sale of 2 and 9-1/2 ma (49-1/2 ma) of land and 1-1/2 ma of kitchen-garden land (kollai), in Tiruchcherai as tax-free tiruchchennadaippuram to the goddess of the bed-room in the temple of the god Tiruchchenneri-udaiyar of the place, by the mahasabhai including the Battars of Biramadeyam Visalur.  The land was sold to the temple itself for a sum of 248 kasu. 

It records a gift by sale 9-1/2 ma cultivable land in the same place, as tax-free land to the temple of the god[.......]-nayanar.  The land was sold to the same temple, by the same mahasabhai, for a sum of 47 ½ kasu.

Tribh Vikramacholadeva : Year 4=1121-22 A.D. 

This inscription records that the mahasabhai (assembly) of Brahmadeyam visalur sold 3 ma of land in Tiruchcherai to the temple of the god Tiruchchenneri-udaiyar for 7-1/2 kalanjlu of the gold and gave it to the temple as tax-free land. 

It mentions a land belonging to a temple of Gangaikondasolavinnagaralvar and a canal called the Rajaraja-vaykkal on the boundary of the gift-land.

This inscription is damaged in some places and built in at the bottom. 

It records that the same assembly of Brahmadeyam Visalur sold 3 ma of land to a certain Vidivitankar Karuvunayikan alias Pillaiyadiyan, which together with a house-site belonging to him was given as tax-free gift to the temple of the god Tiruchchenneri-udaiyar.

Tiruchchirai, Kumbakonam Taluk, Thanjavur District Same wall.

Tribh Vikramacholadeva : Year 9, Singa (Avani) ba. 5, Monday, Asvati =1126 A. D., Aggust 10. The week-day was Tuesday. 

This inscription records that the assembly of Vanavanmadevich-chaturvedimangalam, a Brahmadeyam  in Serrur-kurram in Kulottungasola-valanadu, sold to the temple of the god Tiruchchenneriyudaiya-mahadevar of the place a land measuring 3-3/8 ma in extent and a kitchen-garden measuring 1-3/4 ma in extent for a sum of 13-1/4 kasu and made it tax-free.

Tiruchchirai, Kumbakonam Taluk, Thanjavur District Same wall.

Tribh Vikramacholadeva : Year 5, Mithuna (Ani) ba. 13, Thursday, Rohini=1122 A. D., June 4. The week-day was Sunday. 

This inscription is damaged in some places.

It records the sale of land by the assembly of Srirajasundarich-chaturvedimangalam, aBrahmadeyam in Serrur-kurram in Kulottungasola-valanadu to a certain Kolari Ulaguyyavandan alias Vanadi[rayan] of Undalanjeri who in his turn gave the same, after it was named after him as Ulaguyyavandavilagam, to the shrine of the goddess Aludaiyal of the bedroom of the temple of the god Tiruchchenneriyudaiya-mahadevar of the place. The cultivable land and kitchen-garden land were taken by some local persons by paying kudivilai. It is stated at the end that the assembly received 117 kasu in respect of this land from the temple and it was made tax-free.

Konerirajapuram, Thanjavur Taluk, Thanjavur District Same wall.

[Vikramachola] : Year (lost). 

This is engraved in continuation of No. 696 above and it is built in at the right end and is also incomplete. 

It contains the last part of the prasasti of the king. 

It appears to record a gift made by the Sivabrahmanas of the thirty circles of the temple of the god Tirunalamudaiyar of Tirunalam, a Brahmade[sam*], in Vennadu in Uyyakkondar-valanadu providing for the bathing service and food offerings to the god.  Other details are lost.

Parakesarivarman alias Tribh Vikramacholadeva : Year 13, Karkataka (Adi) ba. (the tithi is omitted),

 Punarpusam=1130 A.D., July 6. The tithi was ba. 14. 

This inscription is damaged in some places and its continuation is not traceable.  It contains the prasasti of the king commencing with Pumadu  punara, etc. 

It records that the various groups of servants like the devakanmis, Srimaesvarakkankanis, sabhaikkankanis and the [Japan] doing people of the temple of the god Tirunalamudaiyar of Tirunalam, a Brahmadeyam¸ in Vennadu in Uyyakkondar-valanadu, received a gift of land in the, year 5 of the reign in Dhanus (Margali) ba. 4, Wednesday, Maraiyurai (?) made by a certain Aritan Tiruchchirrambalamudaiyan Tilainayakan of the same place, to provide for food and other offerings to the god from the month of Tai.   It states that the tenants of the gift-land left the place not being able to pay their  dues to the temple and that therefore the temple services were perhaps suspended.  To remedy this situation of the above-mentioned groups of the temple servants received the gift of paddy from a certain Sinayakan in the month of Arpagai and had agreed to provide the offerings to the god as well as arrange to feed of Sivasogi (Sivayogi) everyday in the temple from out of the interest on the gift paddy.

Parakesarivarman alias Tribh [.......] (Vikramacholadeva) : Year 3, Mesha (Chittirai) [......] 13,

 Svati=1120 A.D., April 15. The paksha was sukla and the tithi was 15. 

This inscription is very much damaged and so only a few particulars can be gleaned.  It contains the prasasti of the king (name lost) commencing with Pumalai madaindu, etc. 

It appears to state that the Perumguri mahasabhai of Tirunalam, assembled and decided to sell some land in the place, probably to a person (name lost), the kilavan of Madavur in Ambara-nadu in the same [vala]-nadu, who probably endorsed the same to the temple to provide for feeding the Sivasagi (Sivayogi) who visited the temple as apurvis (coming without previous notice).  It further that the sabhai made the land tax-free in this connection.

Rajakesarivarman alias Tribh Kulottunga-choladeva (II) : Year 3=1135-36 A. D.

This inscription contains the prasasti of the king commencing with Pumevuvalar  and mentions his queen Bhuvanamulududaiyal. It records the gift of a nanda lamp to the temple of the god Tiruvalakkoyiludaiyar of the village occurring in No. 279 above, by an individual named Kirandai Selvan Suriyadevan of the same place. It is stated that to provide for the gift, he sold a piece of land for a sum of 5 anradu-narkasu ­to the ur of the place.

Rajakesarivarman alias  Tribh Kulottunga-choladeva II.Year 7=1139-40 A. D.

This inscription contains the prasasti of the king as in No. 280 above. It records the sale of a land in the same Tirukkachchur by the ur of the place for a sum of 10 gold anradu-narkasu to a certain Satturu-kalan Marundan of Tirukovalur in Naduvi-nadu ; who endowed the money with the same ur  who had agreed to burn a nanda lamp in the temple of Tiruvalakkoyiludaiyar of the place.

This inscription is incomplete.

It commences with the prasasti of the king, Pumevu ualar tirupponmarvu punar, etc. Mentions the queen Bhuvanamulududaiyal, and stops.

Olakkur, Tindivanam Taluk, South Arcot District

West wall of the same temple.

Rajakesarivarman alias Tribh Kulottungacholadeva II : Year 5=1137-38 A. D.

This inscription is incomplete and it contains the prasasti of the king commencing with Pumevi valar tiruppon, etc., and mentions the wueen Buvanamulududaiyal. 

It states that Irajendradevar gave 100 kalanju  of gold for raising a stone structure (tirukkarrali) to the god Tiruvagattisvaramudaiya-mahadevar of Ulakkaiyur alias Irajamahendranallur in Oyma-nadu alias Vijaiyarajendravalanadu in Jayangondasola-mandalam. The money was entrusted  to ur of the place. Of this a sum of 50 kalanju was expended to raise the structure up to the level of the panchanga. The structure remainded unfinish thereafter, because the balance of 50 kalanju was otherwise spent out in course of time. When the artisans and the Sri-Mahesvaras demanded that the stone structure should be finished, the ur people were not able to do that. To make good the loss a sum of 20 kalanju  of  pon  was spent to set up an image of the god Umaskandasahita in the temple as it lacked one. Then the inscription proceeds to refer to a gift of two veli of land as devadana to provide for the services in the temple, but stops.

Parakesarivarman alias Tribh Kulottungacholadeva II : Year 13, 127th day=1145-46 A. D.

This inscription contains the prasasti of the king commencing with Pumevuvalar tirupponmadupunara, etc., and mentions the queen Buvanamuldudaiyal. 

It records the gift, made by the king, and executed by Tribhuvanachakravartti Konerinmai-kondan, of  the village Adarpadi Meyur alias Nallavur in Kudal in Rajaraja-valanadu, yielding an income of 155 ½ madai of money, as iraiyili devadana  for worship and services to be done by the servants of the deity and the superintendents of the temple affairs, to the god Mahadevar Tiruppulippagavar of Sirringur, a brahmadeyam in Kurukkaik-kurram in Miladu alisa Jananatha-valanadu. The name of the gift-village was changed into Sivapadasekaranallur. It is stated that this gift of the village with the money income there from was registered in the official records by Anapaya Muvendavelan, the tirumandira-volai. A certain Malaiyapparayan figures as the signatory.

This inscription contains the prasasti of the king, commencing with Pumevuvalar tirupponmadu punara, etc., mentions the queen Buvanamulududaiyal.

It records a gift, made by the king and executed by Tribhuvanachakravatti Konerinmaikondan, of 10 veli of land as tax-free devadana in Adarpadi alias [Kama]vanavan-madiripuram in Kudal in Rajaraja-valanadu, for tiruppadimarru  and other services in the temple of the god Tiruppulisvaramahadevar of Sirringur in Kurukkaik-kurram in Jananatha-valanadu. A certain Villavarayan figures as the signatory.

Rajakesarivarman alias Tribh Kulottungacholadeva II : Year 10, Mithuna

(Ani) 29=1143 A. D., June 23, (Wednesday).

This inscription which is slightly damaged contains the prasasti  of the king commencing with Pumevu valar Tirupponmadu,  etc., and mentions the queen Buvanimulududaiyal. 

It records the gift of 5 kasu, 2 ½ kasu each by [. . . . .] Isvaradevan and by Kausikan Aravamudu Panmanabhan of Sirringur for two sandhi lamps to be burnt in the temple of the god Tiruppulippagavadevar of the same Sirringur, a brahmadeyam  in Kurukkaik-kurram in Maladu in Rajaraja-valanadu. It is stated that the Sivabrahmanas of the temple received the money and agreed to burn the lamps.

On the south wall of the central shrine in the Cholesvara temple

Ra[ja*] ra[ja*]deva II : Year 8=1153-54 

This is built in at the end and damaged.  It seems to record that Rajendrasolan Keralan alias Nishadharajan, probably identical with the person occurring in No. 3 above, made some provision for the installation of Sivalinga and for the consecration of the vimana (main shrine) probably at [Ponnamarapati] which is here stated to have been situated in Puramalai-nadu, a subdivision of Rajendrasola-valanadu in Rajarajap-pandinadu.

On the south wall of the central shrine in the Cholesvara temple.

Kulottunga-choladeva III : Year 18=1195-96 A.D. 

This inscription records a gift of land as madappuram to a matha called Nilamai-Alagiyan tirumadam (see No. 13 below) in the tirumadai-vilagam (sacred precincts) of the temple of Rajendrasolisvaram-udaiya-nayanar by Tirukkodungunramudaiyan Alagiyadevan alias Nishadharajan of Ponnamarapati in Puramalai-nadu.

This incomplete inscription records the construction, at Ponnamarapati in Puramalai-nadu, of the central shrine (Sri-vimana) and the installation in it of god Rajendrasolisvaramudaiya-mahadeva by Viman (Bhiman) Rajendrasilan alias Nishadharajan as well as the distribution of the days of worship amongst the Sirabrahmanas of the temple.

Tribh Rajarajadeva II : Year 15=1178-79 A.D. 

This inscription records a gift of land for a sandhi lamp to the temple of Tiruvalakkoyiludaiya-nayanar of Tirukkachchur in Sengunra-nadu in Kalatturkottam in Jayanagondasola-mandalam, by Sendamaraikkan Tiruvalakkoyiludaiyan, an oil-monger of the same village. The land is stated to have been received by the Sivabrahamana Kanchikkuri Srikantha-bhattan Ekambiradevan of Bharadvaja-gotra who had right (of worship) in the temple, and four others of the group of Udaiyapillai, namely Tiruvegambamudaiyar Ekambiradevar, Udaiyapillai and Tiruvalakkoyiludaiyar. It is stated that a few incomes from the land are to be enjoyed by the donor himself.

This inscription records a gift of 16 kasu to the temple of the god Tiruppulipagavadevar of Sirringur, a brahmadeyam  in Kurukkai-kurram in Maladu in Rajaraja-valanadu, by the Brahmani Atkondan-sani, wife of the Sivabrahmana Kasyapan Periyanda[n] of the same place, in connection with the setting up by her of an image of the deity Kshetrapalap-pillaiyar and consecrating it in the said temple.. Besides, a sum of 18 kasu was also deposited in the temple by her to provide for food-offerings to the same image during a sandhi.

This inscription contains the prasasi of the king commencing with Pumaruviya tirumadam Puvimadum, etc., and mentions the queen Ulagudai Mukkokkilanadigal. 

It records a gift of land for the purpose of raising a flower-garden to provide for flower garlands to the god Tiruppulippagavadevar of Sirringur, a brahmadeyam in Kurukkaik-kurram in Maladu in Rajaraja-valanadu, by Manalurudaiyan Tiruvagattipalippili, the madhyasthan of Manalur alias Kalyanamahadevichchaturvedimangalam, a brahmadeyam, in Sengunranadu of Vanagoppadi on the northern bank of the Pennai river, in Rajaraja-valanadu. The land is stated to have belonged to the donor who had purchased it from Bharadvaji Andapillai Tiruppulippagavar and others.

It records a gift of 4 veli of land in Marudur alias Abharanadaninallur in Rajaraja-valanadu, by Malaiyaman Attimallan Sokkapperumal alias Rajagambhirachchediyarayan of Kiliyur in Tirumunaippadi in Rajaraja-valanadu, for food-offerings to the god Tiruppulippagavadevar of Sirringur, a brahmadeyam, in Kurukkaik-kurram in Maladu in Rajaraja-valanadu. It is stated that various incomes specified relating to the gift land need not be paid and that the gift would be maintained hereditarily.

Tribh Rajarajadeva II: Year 9=1154-55 A. D.

This inscription records an order of the king at the instance of a certain Kangeyarajan executed by a certain native of Alambakkam in Poygai-nadu in Tribhvanachchakkaravatti Konerinmaikondan Ulagudai-Makkokkilanadi-vala-nadu, according to which he was enjoined to give to the sabhai of Madurantakach-charuppedimangalam, specified quantities of paddy and kasui in respect of the land probably held by him in the village of the sabhai. It is stated that he should give the paddy from the 8th year in the reign of the king. It also states that in case kamuku (areca) trees were grown in a land, no tax-need be paid for five years from the date of planting of the trees, but afterwards, the stipulated levy in the from of paddy should be given.

Tribh Rajadhirajadeva II : Year 8, Tai=1171 A.D. (?) 

This inscription records a gift of the tax paid in oil as well as one palankasu per oil-press from the oil-presses established on the premises of the temple of Tiruvalakkoyiludaiyar of Tirukkachchur to provide for the expenses of the temple connected with the burning of two nanda lamps and ten sandhi lamps, for food-offerings on every Anavasya day and for oil for the torches used on the occasion of taking out (the images) in procession.  The gift was made by the assembly consisting of the oil-mongers, who went by the name of Managar, of Sri-Kanchimanagar and the people of the 24 Nagaras of the Kanchi-mandalam, who had gathered in full strength and with no absentees, in the temple of Tirukkattuppalliudaiya-nayanar or Kanchimanagar.  This endowment is stated to be a Jati-dharmam.  One samaiyanarayanat-tamilavelan is stated to have written this on the orders of the Nayara (i.e., the members of the above-mentioned assembly).

The last part of the inscription is missing. 

This inscription records a gift of a nanda lamp to the temple of the god Tiruvirkolamudaiyar of Kuvam alias Tiyagasamudranallur in Manavir-kottam in Jayangondasola-mandalam by Sangambai, wife of Tumburan Tiruvaranga-mudaiyan of the same place.  To provide for this a sum of 15 Anradu Narpalankasu was endowed by her from the month of Appasi of the year, which was received by the temple Sivabrahmanas, viz.  Kausikan Sennerperran, Gautaman Udaiyapillai, Gautaman Tiruvalamudaiyan, Kasyapan Devappillai, and Bharadvaji Ka(Ga)napati-bhattan who had agreed to burn the temple for ever.

This inscription contains the prasasti of the king commencing with Kadal sulnda par madarum, etc., Mentions his queen Ulagudai Mukkokkilanadigal. 

It states that a certain Appan Sattan of Kudippalli, the hamlet of Nediyam in Eyilnedungala-nadu in Vijaiya Rajendra-valanadu in jayangondasola-mandalam and another man named Orali Udaiyan-perumal of Uratti in Uratti-nadu in Venkunrak-kottam went for hunting. There the arrow aimed by the latter at a pulvay (bird) accidentally hit the former who died due to this. Then the various groups of important people of the mandalam, like the pattapperumakkal, periyanattar and pannattar assembled and ordered that Orali Udaiyan Perumal, to atone for the killing, should gift a nanada lamp to the god Vatapivitankar in the temple of the god Tiruvagattisvaramudaiya-mahadevar of Ulakkaiur alias Rajendranallur in Jayangondasolamandalam. Accordingly the man gave the lamp and 32 cows and a bull to provide for this. The sabhai of the central shrine of the temple accepted the animals and agreed to burn the lamp.

This inscription is incomplete in some places.

It records a settlement arrived at amongst the Brahmanas and Periyanattars residing on either bank of the kudakkal (small canal) through which water flows into the channel called the Tiruppuli(ppagava) nurrukkal dug out by a certain Andar Arasukkadiyar for the god Tiruppulippagavadevar of Sirringur a brahmadeyam.  The settlement appears to have been over a dispute concerning water supplied from the canal of Marudur.

Mulam=1174 A. D., August 9. The week-day was Friday.

This inscription is damaged in some places. 

It records a sale of 1-1/8 house-site measured by 4-1/2 foot-long rod, by Panchanadivana-battan, son of Sri-Madava-battan of Vangipuram of Sri-Madhurantaka-chaturvedimangalam, a Brahmadeyam in Poygai-nadu in Rajaraja-valanadu, to the temple of [ . . .]daiya-mahadevar of the same place for a sum of 30 Anradu Narkasu. It is stated that out of this, 7 kasu was gifted to the shrine of the dancing god Kuttadundevar.

This inscription records a gift of paddy at the rate of 4 nali per ma land in their village and its hamlets by the Vellalars of Sri-Madhurantakach-chaturvvedimangalam, a Brahmadeyam,  in Poygai-nadu in Vadakarai-Rajaraja-valanadu-mahadevar of the village. There is an imprecatory passage warning those who tried to harm this gift. At the end is a Tamil verse containing the purport of the gift.

Tribh Rajadhirajadeva II: Year 12, Kumbha, ba., Thursday,

Svati=1175 A. D., February 1. The day in the month of Kumbha was

21 and the tithi was ba.5.

This inscription records a gift of house-site (manait-tidal) of the extent of 9/16 ma as  dharmmadana to the temple of Sri-Kayilasam-udaiyar of Sri-Madhurantakach-chaturvedimangalam, a Brahmadeyam in Poygai-nadu in Vadaka[rai]-Rajaraja-valanadu, by a certain Tatparamporul-battan of Vangipuram of the village. The signatories were Settabhogan Dakshinamuttibatta-somayajin, Pounambala-nambi, son of Damodara-battan of Sirukottaiyur. Aludaiyanbhattan of Karambisettu, Sankaranarayana-bhattan of Nerattur, Alkollibhatta-somayajin of (place-name lost) and Narayana-bhattan of (place-name lost). 

It is stated at the end that the donor got 10 kasu as parisattam (?) for giving the land, the purport of which is not clear.

Tribh Rajadhirajadeva II: Year 13, Mesha ba. [ . . .] Thursday, Purattadi=1176 A. D., March 11. The tithi was ba. 14 of Phaiguna month.

This inscription refers to the king as who was pleased to take Ilam and Madurai.

It records an ubhayattittu (gift-deed) given to the executives of the temple of Sri-Kayilasam-udaiyar of Madurantaka-chaturvedimangalam in Poygai-nadu, by the Sivabrahmanas having the right of worship in the 30-day circle of the temple. It is stated that from among them, some had left the place and that their right of worship should be distributed amongst those Sivabrahmanas who remained there. The temple gave these people 448-1/4 kasu in this connection. It is stated that with this money the Sivabrahmanas got 32 cows and one bull and from the ghee derived from their yield, the Sivabrahmanas had agreed to burn two nanda lamps in the temple. It is stated that each cow costs 13-1/2 kasu plus 1-3/4 ma kasu, and that 91-1/4 nali of ghee for 365 days at 2-3/4 nali plus 4 sevisu per cow per day was required for burning the two lamps perpetually.
