Kunnakkudi, Tiruppattur Taluk, Ramanathapuram District

On the north wall of the Agastyesvara shrine at the food of the hill.

Jatavarman Rajarajan-Sundara-pandyadeva 

This inscription is built in at the end and damaged. 

It gives details of date such as trayodasi, Monday and Punarpusa, the other details being in the built-in part. 

It seems to register the sale of the village Mullikkundu, a devadana of god Tenarru-Nayakar, as kudininga-kani to a person (name lost), by the trustees of the temple of the god mentioned above.

This incomplete inscription seems to record a gift of one achchu to the temple for burning a lamp there.

Maravarman alias Tribh Kulasekharadeva : Year 5, Panguni 23.

This incomplete inscription records a gift of one achchu by a certain Sattiyanayakkan, a Vellalan Kari of Arangur in Kilkararai-Pundurai-nadu for a lamp given by the donor to the deity Avinasiyaludaiyar.

Pandyadeva: Year 11, Aippasi. 

This is another incomplete inscription which records a gift a lamp to the same deity mentioned No. 214 above, by a certain Kamindan a Vellalan Kalanjipari of Nambiperur in Vadaparisara-nadu.

Maravarman Tribh (Kings Name lost): Year 27.

This inscription is too fragmentary.

It mentions Ada[nur] in Surangudi-nadu and Mudugudi-nadu and some people like Pavittiramani[kkam] Gangadevan.  It appears to record a gift of nanda lamp.

Solapuram, Sivaganga Taluk, Ramanathapuram District

North wall of the same verandah.

Tribh............... : Year 7, Panguni . 

This inscription is damaged in some places. 

It records the order of the king confirming the grant of land as tax-free devadana given by his uncle (amman) Tondaimanar, to the temple of the god Vikramanpandisvaramudaiya-nayanar in Uttamasolapuram in Anma-nadu.  The land was situated in the same place and it was given to the temple from the month of Panguni of the 7th year in the reign of the king.  It mentions the temple of the god Uttamsolavinngararempurumanar of the same place. 

The signatories were Tiruambaiyurudaiyan and Virapandya Pallavaraiyan and another whose name is lost.

Solamadevi. Udumalaipet Taluk, Coimbatore District Same wall.

Tribh Koneimelkondan : No date.

This inscription records an order of the king addressed to the servants of the deity Kulasekhra-Isvaramudaiyar of Solamadevainallur in Karaivali-nadu. It states that a certain Kadavarayan, a manradu of the village, became a traitor to the king and that his manradu land was forfeited to the king, and that this land was sold to the temple servants. It mentions a gift of land for rearing a flower-garden for the use of the temple.

Suttamalli, Tirunelveli Taluk, Tirunelveli District

South wall of the mandapa in front of the central shrine in the Bhagavatisvara temple.

Tribh Konerimelkondan : Year 3+7 

This damaged inscription records a gift of land as tax-free devadana made by the king in Kudaikkulam in the western quarter of Seravanmadevicch-chaturvedimangalam in Mulli-nadu, to provide for the festival held on the birth-day of the king in the month of Vaikasi in the temple of the god (name lost) in Suttamalli alias Viravinodach-chaturvedimangalam in Mel-vemba-nadu. It seems that the request for the gift was made by a certain Nambi (full name not preserved) of Manabharana-mangalam.

Suttamalli, Tirunelveli Taluk, Tirunelveli District Same wall.

Tribh Konerimenkondan : Year 7, day [510 ?]

This inscription records a gift of land, 10 ma in extent, as tax-free devadana, made by the king, for worship and offerings in the temple of the god Bagavatisvaramudaiyar of Suttamalli alias Viravinodach-chaturvvedimangalam in Mel-Vemba-nadu. It is stated that the land belonged as jivitam to a certain Srivallava Savanadarayar, an Angavayijya for Rajaraja-Chaturvvedimangalam in Mulli-nadu and that it was taken over from him and was assigned to the temple. 

The signatories were Arayan Kuvalayachandiran alias [Puli]yan Pallavarayan of Koluvanur in Kilkurru in Milalaik-kurram, Araiyan Sri . . . devan alias Vinnadudaiyan  of the same place, and Araiyan, Tudaiyan alias pallavaajan of Ulakkudi in [ . . .]ndaiyirukkai in Madurodaya-valanadu.

Suttamalli, Tirunelveli Taluk, Tirunelveli District Same wall. 

Tribh Konerimenkondan : Year 7, day [510 ?]

This inscription is incomplete at the end.

It is a copy of the order of the king dealt with under No. 483 above. But here the king is stated to be seated on the seat called Pallippidam Munaiyadaraiyan in the hall of the sleeping apartment in the temple at Madakkulakkil Madurai.

The signatories here were Udaiyan of Karkuruchchi in Tiruvalidi-valanadu and Terpoliyaninran Valudinattu Muvendavelan.

Suttamall, Tirunelveli Taluk, Tirunelveli District North wall of the same temple.

Tribh Konerimenkondan :  Year 22 , day of 212. 

This inscription records a gift of ½ ma of land made by the ruler in Tavanaipparru on the eastern side of the fort (kottaikkilpal) for a flower-guarden in favour of the image of the goddess of the Tirukkamakkottam shrine in the temple of Angundisuramudaiya-nayinar set up by Sivanindakalan alias Sembiyadaraiyan.  It is stated that the land was given tax-free and it was to be in possession of the above-mentioned Sembiyadaraiyan and his descendants.

Solapuram, Sivaganga Taluk, Ramanathapuram District Same wall as above.

Tribh Konerinmelkondan : Year 5, Vaikasi, day 313.

This inscription is damaged.

It records a grant of land by the king to the temple of the god Vikramapandisvaramudaiyar of Solapuram in Anma-nadu, to provide for a festival (name lost) instituted there after the name of the king, and for food and other offerings at the daily worship in the same temple. It is stated that the land, situated in Sakkaraneri in [......] pandya-chaturvedimangalam.....in Arinadu was brought as karpura-vilai for a sum of 1000 panam from a certain Sundarapandyavanakovaraiyar, and was granted to the temple for use from the month of Vaikasi in the 5th year in the reign of the king.  It is also stated that the king ordered that this year onward annually a sum of 100 pon from the income of the gift land might to deducted for this purpose.

Solapuram, Sivaganga Taluk, Ramanathapuram Districct Same wall.

Tribh Konerimeikondan : Year 13, day 1119.

This inscription records an order of the king containing the re-grant of some villages at the instance of a certain Viratamuditta Perumal and on the request of the sabhai of Uttamasolacl-chaturvedimangalam, a devadana of the temple of Uttamasolavinnagar-Alvar of Solapuram. The re-grant was made to the same temple. The village regranted were Vellaiyarainallur alias Danmaparayanappereri, Tiruchchlur in Tudaiyanurmuttam, Amanaputtur, Kondayaneri and Upaniyanmangalam. It is stated that the sabhai brought to the notice of the king the fact that these villages were granted to them during the term of his elder grandfather and later they were grouped into one under the name of Sundarapandyach-chaturvedimangalam after the king’s younger grandfather during the latter’s time and that they subsequently become fallow due to drought and taxation difficulties, with the result that the worship (in the temple) was suspended. It is further stated that the sabhai requested the king Uttamasolapperiyar, the grandson, to rename the group of villages as Uttamasolach-chaturvedimangalam and give it to 20 persons and make them reclaim the villages and use the products for worship in the temple of Uttamasolavinnagaralvar. It is stated that the king consented accordingly.

Solapuram, Sivaganga Taluk, Ramanathapuram District Same wall.

Konerimelkondan : Year 10.

This inscription is built in at the end and therefore several details are not clear. 

It records the gift of land made by the king to the image of the god Sundarapandyavinnagar-alvar set up by a certain Nachchiyar (name lost) in the temple of the god Uttamasolavinnagar Alvar of Uttamasolach-chaturvvedi mangalam in Anma-nadu. The gift was intended to provide for worship and offerings daily. 

Such places as Vikramapandyappereri in Ari-nadu a devadana of Udayanayaka Vinnagaralvar, Manalur in Kottu-nadu, and Sri-Parantakach-chaturvedimanagalam are mentioned as forming the boundaries of the gift-land Other places like Panaiyur and Karuvanur also are mentioned. 

The signatory was Periya [. .] perumal alias Venavudaiyar Tirumana  . . . . . . .]of Pirambalur.
