KADLEEEVAD, SINDGI TALUK, BIJAPUR DISTRICT

Slab lying in the Temple of Svdmilinga Sovideva---A. D. 1168

This record is dated in Saka 1090, Sarvadhari, Asvija, su. Purnima, Wednesday, Lunar eclipse, corresponding to A. D. 1168. September 18, Wednesday, f. d. t. 03.

The inscription states  that  Mahamandalesvara  Simgidevarasa  and  the Silahara family who was governing Elamelu, made a grant of certain taxes and incomes due From Sembevada under the administration of the temple of gift was entrusted to Acharya Sovarasideva. It also registers another gift of one  gadyana from each of  the Villages in the nadu by Mahamandalesvara Gomadevarasa  eteya-nayaka of Hada-Valahatti and the prabhus and garundas of Elamela-30 and Simdige-12, for the benefit Of the same temple. The king is stated to have been ruling from Mamgaliveda.

AGARKHED, INDI TALUK, BIJAPUR DISTRICT

      Slab fixed into the wall of the temple of Sankaralinga

Sovideva---A. D.  1178      

This record is dated in the cyclic year Vikrita, Jyeshtha, Amavasya,Monday, The king’s regnal year is not given but the cyclic year Vikrita which fell in the reign Of Sovideva, coincided with A. D. 1170. In this year, the details of the date Correspond  regularly to Monday, June 15, f.d.t. 10.

The inscription records a gift of land to Dugga-jiya made by Dandanayaka Basavarasa, an officer of Mailaya-nayaka, his brother Kopparass, Mahamandalesvara Vararasa, the probhu and gdvundas of Kheda, etc., out of the gift of 325 mattars of Land which had been (formerly) made by Mahamandalesvara kailasarasa, a subordinate Of Subhatungadeva to the temple of kailasadeva at Kheda, the rajadhani of the Thirty- Six-village (division) included in Tarddavadi-nadu. It also registers the gift of an Gift, apparently to the same temple, made by Babbagavunda and Lakshmadevi on the Occasion of a solar eclipse.

BHUYAR, INDI TALUK, BIJAPUR DISTRICT

Broken slab near the ruined Mallikarjuna temple

on the bank of the Bhimarathi river Sovideva—( A. D. 1172 )

This record is dated in the king’s regnal year 4, Khara, Phalguna, Amavasye, Monday. The details of the date correspond to A. D. 1172, February 25, which was Friday and not Monday as stated in the record.

The inscription registers a gift of land for burning a perpetual lamp in the temple Of god Kudaladeva, by Dhayya, Maya-sahani, Rechaga vunda  and others.

KADLEVAD, SINDGI TALUK, BIJAPUR DISTRICT

Slab set up in the temple of Sivalinga Sovideva---A. D.1172

This record is dated Saka 1094, Nandana, Pushya, su. 8, Monday, Uttarayana- Samkranti, corresponding to A. D. 1172, December 24. The week-day was, however Sunday.

The inscription states that Dandanayaka Kumara Bammidevarasa who was Administering Sagara, Hagarittage and Elamela divisions and Mahamanadalesvara Simgidevarasa of Elamele visited the temple of Svayambhn Somanathadeva at the Ghatikasthana Kadalevada and made a gift of land for worship, offering and the feeding Of the ascetics in the temple. The gift was entrusted to acharya Sovarasi-panditadeva Who, in his turn, made some gift of land to his son (Putra) Samgoja who is called an architect (sutradhari) and an export in building.

The king is stated to have been ruling from Seleyahalli.

Fragment of stone lying in the compound

 of Sankaralinga temple Sovideva –A. D. 1174

This record is dated in the king’s regnal year 8, Jaya, Chaitra, su. 2, Monday The details of the date correspond to A. D. 1174, March 6, when the week-day was Wednesday and not Monday.

The inscription records a gift of land, house-sites  etc., to the temple of Koti- Sankaradeva of Nimbahalla by Vararasa, the prabhu of Tadavalage, and other.

KADALEVAD, SINDGI TALUK, BIJAPUR DISTRICT

Slab set up in the temple of Svamilinga. Sovideva---A. D. 1174

This record is dated in the king’s regnal year 8, Jaya, Sravana, ba. 8, Monday, Corresponding to A. D. 1174, July 22, Monday, f.d.t. 39.

The inscription records a gift of taxes made by Mahapradhana Kumara Bammidevarasa to god Svayambbu Somanatha of Kadalevada. The latter place was Situated in Yelamela-nadu, which was governed by the donor. The gift was entrusted to Somesvara-pandita.

JAMKHANDI, JAMKHANDI TALUK, BIJAPUR DISTRICT 

hero-stone in the temple of Nandigappa sovideva--A.D.1175

In this damaged and broken record only the date portion is preserved. It is dated in the king's regnal year 8, Manmatha,Margasira, su.8, the week-day being lost. The given details correspond to A.D.1175, November 23,Sunday.

KADALEVAD, SINDGI TALUK, BIJAPUR DISTRICT

Slab set up in the temple of Sivalinga Sovideva—A. D. 1176

This record is dated Saka 1097, Manmatha, Pushya, ba. Amavasya, Tuesday, Uttarayana-samkranti, corresponding to A. D. 1176, January 13, Tuesday. The Samkrantidid not, however, occur on that day.

The inscription states that Mahamandalesvara Simgidevarsa of Elamelu, belonging to the Silahara family, Kasapayya-nayaka, Mahaoradhana, Dandanayaka Kumara Bammidevaeasa, sirkarana Chakanayya-nayaka, the mahaprabhu of Kummasi, Gundarasa and his brother Mahadevarasa made a gift of land certain taxes for The worship and offerings to the temple of Svayambhu Somanatha. The gift was Entrusted to acharya Sovarasideva. The king is stated to have been ruling from Mamgaliveda.

Fragmentary stone lying in the compound

of the Sankaralinga temple Sovideva—A. D. 1176

This damaged and mutilated record is dated in the king’s regnal year 10, Durmati, Chaitra, su. 5, Wednesday. Apparently, the cyclic year Durmsti is a mistake for Durmukhi. The details of the date correspond to A. D. 1176, March 17, Wednesday. The inscription appears to record a gift of land to the temple of Sankaradeva other details are lost.

This damaged  inscription records a grant made to god [Dhru] vesvaradeva. The Name of the donor and the details of the grant are lost.

TUNAGL, JAMKHANDI TALUK, BIJAPUR DISTRICT

Slab near the Paramananda temple outside the village Sovideva—(Date lost)

The record is badly damaged and the date-portion is lost, except the week-day, Which was Thursday. Towards the end is contained another date which also is Partially preserved, viz., the 5th year,  Khara, eclipse. The regnal year is apparently of the same king.

The inscription seems to record a gift of land for the benefit of a temple (name Lost) by Mahapradhana Chiddarasa, Mahaprabhu Chaudana-Bhattopadhyaya of Agrahara Tumgula, and others The details of the gift are lost.

It also registers a gift by a Deverasa and his brother (name lost) made for The benefit of the temple of Chennakesavadeva The king is stated to be ruling from Modeganuru.

Broken slab built into the window of the rangamandapa

in the Sambhulinga temple Sovideva –(Date lost)

The record is damaged and worn out and the date is only partially preserved, i.e. Friday, lunar eclipse.

The inscription seems to state that the king made gift of land for the worship Of god Svayambhu and for the feeding of the ascetics, at the request of Mahapradhana Lakshmidhara—dandanayaka and others.

TENIHALLI, INDI TALUK, BIJAPUR DISTRICT

Broken stone built into the wall of the house of the Jahagirdar Mallugi –A. D. 1176

This fragmentary record is dated in the king’s regnal year 2, Durmukhi, Margasira, Amavasya, Thursday, Dhanu-samkramana, corresponding to A. D. 1176 November 2. Thursday, f.d.t. 19. Samkrmana did not ccur on that day.

The inscription registers a gift of income derived from the cess on paddy, betel leaves and nuts in the Thirty-six villages division with Cbikka-Ruvige as the chief place.

BIJAPUR, BIJAPUR TALUK, BIJAPUR DISTRICT

Slab (No. 56) in the Archaeological Museum Mallugi—A. D. 1176

This fragmentary record is dated in Saka 1098, Durmukhi, Margasira, Ba. 8, Thursday, corresponding to A. D. 1176, November 25, Thursday.

The inscription registers a gift of income derived from cess on certain articles Made by the Five-Hundred of Ayyavole, Mummuridundas and others to the temple of Nagesvaradeva.

The king is stated to have been ruling from Masanuru.

RUGI, INDI TALUK, BIJAPUR DISTRICT

Right side of a stone standing close to the

front wall of the Hanuman temple  Mallugi ---A. D. 1176

This damaged record is dated in the second year of Mallugideva, durmukhi,Monday, Samkranti ; the other details are not given. It is engraved in characters of About the 12th century. During the reign-period of Mallugi, the cyclic year corresponded to A. D. 1176.

The inscription registers a gift of land by Mahamandalesvara Chamundarasa Who was governing Taddavadi-1000 District.  For the benefit of a temple (name lost) Of the agrahara Aneya ruvige in Muvattarumbada. The gift  was entrusted into the Hands of Sarbbesvaradeva. It also records other gifts by prabhu Brahmadeva and Others (details lost ).

LAKSHMESVAR, SHIRHRTTI TALUK, DHARWAR DISTRICT  

Slab in the back-yard of the Taluk Office [Sanka]ma—A. D. 1179

This fragmentary and damaged record is dated in the king’s regnal year 3, Vilambi, Magha, su. 5, Monday, corresponding to A. D. 1179, January 15, Monday.

The inscription records a gift, the details of which are lost, for repairs to the Temple of Svayambhu-Lakshmanesvara of  Huligere.  The gift was entrusted to Trilochana-pandita.

Broken slab lying in the temple of Mallikarjuna Sankama—(Date lost)

In this badly damaged and mutilated record, only the parsasti of the king is Preserved. The extant date portion is Kartiks, Purnima. The king is stated to have Been ruling from Kalyana.

Hero-stone in the temple of Somesvara Ahavamalla—A. D. 1183

This record is dated in the king’s rengal year 4, Sobhakrit, Vaisakha, ba. 1, Sunday, corresponding to A. D. 1183, April 10, Sunday. The month given was Adhika-masa.

The inscription records the death of Bammuga, a servant of Chaladamka-rama Madana-setti in a fight with Vemmana at Rattahalli.

BABLESVAR, BIJAPUR TALUK, BIJAPUR DISTRICT

Fragment of a slab fixed in a niche in Virakta-matha

In this fragmentary record dated during the reign of Kalachuri king whose Name is lost, only the tithi and the weekday, i.e., Pamchami. Brihaspativara, are Preserved.

The inscription seems to refer to the construction of the temple Mulasthana by The chief of Babhulesvara (name lost ) and mentions the tax-officer (sumkad-adhikari) Tipparasa.

Fragment of a stone built into the wall of the village school

The inscription which is partially preserved contains the prasasti of a Kalachurya King whose name is lost.
