Stone built into the platform in front of the Hanuman temple A.D.1440

This badly damaged and effaced record is dated saka 1362, raudri, Bhadrapada, su. 11, Tuesday, corresponding to A.D.140, September 6, Tuesday, f.d.t. 92.

The inscription seems to record a gift of land by certain individuals.

Pedestal of the image of Adinatha- tirthankara A.D. 1445

This damaged record  is dated saka [13] 66, raktashi, Magha, bu., Sunday, the tithi being not given. The intended date may be A.D.1445, January 24 or 31, Sunday

The inscription seems to record the installation of the image of Adinatha.

Top of the door frame of Hanuman temple A.D.1481

This record is dated saka1[40]3, piava, Margasira, su, [7], Saturday, corresponding to A.D.1481, November 27, the weekday being Tuesday  and not Saturday.

This inscription records  the completion of a hall (sabha) evidently in the  temple of hanuman. It mentions Ramarasa who perhaps was responsible for this act.

Fragment of a broken slab lying near the Dharmanata’s

house near the somesvara temple 15th century A.D.

Only the concluding portion of the record is preserved. It seems to record the gift of a picotta. It refers to the boundaries of Lakshumanesvara written at the instance of Mallika[na] data-vadeya, and to a gift to Limganagauda son of somanagauda, of Huligere. Un characters of about the 15th century A.D.

This record, in characters of about the 15th century A.D., is dated the cyclic year Raudra[puspha,su]5, Tuesday. The details cannot be verified. It record the death of Mallaya, son of  Bhayiraya-nayaka, and younger brother Machaya.

This record, in characters of about 15th-16th century A.D., gives the names of Bhutanatha-Yiogesvara-Vodeya, Hire-sarvesvara-vodeya and Channapa-vodeya.

LAKSHMESVARA, SHIRHATTI TALUK, DHARWAR DISTRICT

Slab built into the wall of Virabhadra temple A.D.1513

This record is dated saka 1435, Srimukha, Bhadrapada, su.5, Sunday corresponding to A.D.1513, September 4, the month being Nija bhadrapada.

The inscription record a gift in the presence of god Dakshina-Somesvara of flower-garden by Singisetti–arasa of Kadalige to the temple of Marula –Siddesvara, named after the Saiva preceptor Marulasidda who had come to Huligere. The record is damaged towards the end.

LAKSHMESVAR, SHIRHATTI TALUK, DHARWAR DISTRICT

Slab built into the wall of the backyard of the taluk office [A.D.1538]

This damaged record is dated saka 14…, Vilambi, Prathama-jyeshtha, su.1,Monday. The details regularly correspond to A.D.1538, April 29,if the saka year was 1460.

The inscription registers a deed of settlement of dispute between the Jainas headed by Samkhanacharya and Hemanacharya of the samkha-basit and Kalahastideva and Sivaramadeva of the temple of Dakshina-Somesvaradeva regarding the use of certain honours which had been  misappropriated by the Jainas for their deity.

This badly damaged record, in characters of about the 16th century A.D., seems to register a gift of land, the details of which are all lost. It refers to some nayakas as witnesses of the gift.

This record is dated cyclic year sarvari, Chautra, ba. (mistake for su.) Paurnami, chandrahore, Purva-nakshatra. The details cannot be verified. It is in characters of about the 16th century   A.D.

The inscription  records the construction of a well by Gundayya(?) of Hipparige.

KALKERI, SINDGI TALUK, BIJAPUR DISTRICT

Slab lying in Hirematha [A.D. 1609]

The extent portion of the date of this damaged record is saumya, Pushya, su, 13, Wednesday, Uttarayana-samkramana. On paleographical ground the date may be probably equated with A.D.1609, December 27, Wednesday, f.d.t.66. the samkramana occurred on the next day.

The inscription registers a gift of oil for a lamp to a deity by some trade- guilds (sameya) at Kalkere.

Slab standing in survey No.539 A.D.1635

This record is dated saka 1557, yuva, Ashada, ba. 13, Tuesday corresponding to 1635 A.D., July 2.

The inscription, in Nagari characters and Marathi language, seems to record a fight between padasahi sulatana Mahamada Araka[da] and rajadhiraja Marari Pandit [esvara] on the bank of the Bhimarathi near  Devanagau.

HIPPARAGI, SINDGI TALUK, BIJAPUR DISTRICT

Stone fixed into the front wall of the Hanuman temple near the village Chavidi A.D. 1644

This record is dated saka 1566, Tarana, Sarvana, su. 1 Friday. The tithi corresponds to A.D. 1644, July 24, when the weekday was Wednesday instead of Friday.

The inscription, in Nagari characters and Marathi language, seems to record the construction of Hanuman temple, in stone, and a gift of land made for it.

Stone fixed into the raised platform in the Hanuman temple A.D.1676

This record is dated saka 1597, Rakshasa, Pushya, bu.15, corresponding to A.D., 1676 January 5, Wednesday.

The inscription records that Desayi Lingapagauda of Gutala made grants (of land) in Madatira-sime which was his umabali to several individuals  mentioned.

JUMNAL, BIJAPUR TALUK, BIJAPUR DISTRICT

stone fixed into a wall of the Deyavva temple A.D.1699

This record is dated saka 1621, Pramathi, Dakshinayana, Bhadrapada, Paurnamal. Wednesday, purva- Bhadrapada-nakshatra, corresponding to 1699 A.D., August 30. There was, however, nosamkranthi on that day.

The inscription,in Sanskrit language and Nagari characters, states that a well was constructed. By Raya-Pandita, son of Ramachandra who was the son of Tirthesa.

The first ten lines of this inscription, in characters of the 17th century A.D., are engraved negatively. It seems to register a gift of some Vrittis to Sidhaswami of the matha.

Slab fixed in a wall of Kudali Sringeri-matha A.D.1714

This record is dated saka, jaya, Magasira, Champa-shashthi, corresponding to a A.D.1714, December 1, the saka year being 1636.

The inscription record a gift of land in the village Udagatti, nin Madaleri which was the umbali of the donor, Bahadara Hanumanthagauda,son of Lingapagauda and grand son of Desayi Hanumanthagauda of Gutala, to the matha of Sri Narasimha-bharathi swami of Sringeri.

UDAGATTI, RANEBENUR TALUK, DHARWAR DISTRICT

Slab fixed in a wall of Kudali Sringeri-matha A.D.1726

This record is dated saka 1646, Visvavasu, Pushya, ba.6, corresponding to A.D. 1726, January 12, when the weekday was Wednesday. The saka year was 1647.

The inscription record that sri Sankara-Bharathi-svami got constructed the tomb of Sringeri, who passed away at Udugati on the above- mentioned date. He also had a temple of siva built and made a gift of land at hirebidare for the benefit of this temple.

KALHALLI, JAMKHANDI TALUK, BJJAPUR DISTRICT

Stone built in to the left wall of the Varoha shrine in the venkateswara temple A.D. 1808

This record, in Sanskrit language and Nagari characters, is dated saka 1729, Prabhava, Phalguna, ba 12, Wednesday, corresponding to A.D.1808, march 23.

The inscription states that a certain sesha got constructed the Varaha temple.

Stone built in to the right wall of the Varoha shrine in the venkateswara temple

A.D. 1808

This record dated saka1730, Vibhava, Magha, su.12, Monday. The tithi corresponding to A.D.1809, January 16.

The inscription states that the image of varaha was installed on the hill of Kallali by sesha.
