TEXT OF INSCRIPTIONS

(A. R. No. 562 of 1929-30)

HATYAṄGAḌI, COONDAPOOR TALUK, SOUTH KANARA DISTRICT

Slab (No. 2) set up in prākāra of the Lokanāthēśvara temple

1576 A. D.

This record registers a gift od several pieces of land to god Lōkanāthadēva of Hattiyaṅgaḍi by the seṭṭikāras of that place, It states that Baṅkiyarasa alias Hoṁneya-Kaṁbaḷi-voḍeya alias Ammidēvi-amma, Chenneyarasa Toḷaha and the kings of Yikkare (Ikkērī) were ruling Hārunāḍa-sīme as kāṇāchi.

It is dated Śaka 1499, Dhātu, Chaitra śu. 1, , the details being insufficient for verification in the absence of the mention of weekday. The tithi corresponds to 1576 A.D., March 1, the Śaka year being current.

1 ಶ್ರೀ ಗಣಾಧಿಪತಯೇಂ ನಮಃ ಶ್ರೀ ಸರಸ್ವತ್ಯಯೇನಮಃ ಶ್ರೀ ಗುರಭ್ಯೋಂನಮಃ
ನಿರ್ವಿಘ್ನಮಸ್ತು | ನಮಸ್ತುಂಗ ಶಿರಃಚುಂಬಿ ಚಂದ್ರಚಾ –

2 ಮರ ಚಾರವೇ ತ್ರಯಿಲೋಕ್ಯ ನಗರಾರಂಭ ಮೂಲಸ್ತಂಭಾಯ ಶಂಭವೇ | ಸ್ವಸ್ತಿಶ್ರೀ
ಜಯಾದ್ಬುದಯಾ ಶಾಲಿವಾಹನ ಶಕವರುಷ 1466 ನೆಯ

3 ಧಾತು ಸಂವತ್ಸರದ ಚಯಿತ್ರ ಶು 1 ದಲು ಶ್ರೀಮತು ಬಂಕಿಯರಸರು ಹೊಂನೆಯ
ಕಂಬಳಿ ವೊಡೆಯರಾದ ಅಂಮಿದೇವಿ ಅಂಮನವರು ಸಕಲಗುಣ –

ಸೀಮೆಯನು ಕಾಣುಚಿಯಾಗಿ ಅಳುತಿರುಹಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವ –
