BADAGABETTU, UDIPI TALUK, SOUTH KANARA DISTRICT

Slab lying by the side of the tank belonging to the private house called
‘Chitpāḍi-bīḍu’

1485 A.D.

The record registers a gift of land for feeding the brahmaṇas in the maṭha at Chiṭṭapāḍi by Jinabhakta-Dēvaru-seṭṭi who purchased the land from Lakshmīnārāyaṇa-mūḍīla for that purpose.

It is dated Śaka 1408, Viśvāvasu, Bhādrapada śu. 12, Tuesday corresponding to 1485 A.D., August 23. The Śaka year was current.

1 ಸ್ವಸ್ತಿಶ್ರೀ ಗಣಾಧಿಪತಯೇ ನಮಃ[|*] ನಿರ್ವ್ವಘ್ನಮಸ್ತು | ನಮಸ್ತುಂಗ ಶಿರ[ಶ್ಚುಂ]-

2 ಚಂದ್ರಚಾಮರ ಚಾರವೇ ತ್ರೈಲೋಕ್ಯ ನಗರಾರಂಭ ಮೂಲಸ್ತಂಭಾಯ

3 ಶಂಭವೇ | ಸ್ವಸ್ತಿಶ್ರೀ ಜಯಾಭ್ಯುದಯ ಶಕವರುಷ 1408 ನೆಯ ವಿಶ್ವಾವಸು

4 ಸಂವತ್ಸರದ ಭಾದ್ರಪದ ಶುದ್ಧ 12 ಮಂಗಳವಾರದಲು ಶ್ರೀಮತು ಚಿ-

5 ಟ್ಟಿಪಾಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಲಕ್ಷುಮಿನಾರಾಯಣ ಮೂಡಿಲದ ಬಾಳು ಹೊಲ-

6 ದಲ್ಲಿ ಆ ಚಂದ್ರಾರ್ಕ್ಕವಾಗಿ ಬಿಟ್ಟ ಪಾಡಿಯ ಗ . . . ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಮೂಡ

7 ಬಡಗಹತ್ತಿಲು ಬಾವಿಯ ನಿರಂ[ದ]ನಾ[ಲೆ] . . ವಾಡಿಯನು

8 ಮೂಡಿಲರು ತಂನಮನ[B] ಪೂರ್ವಕ[ವಾ]ಗಿ [ಕ]ರಣಂತರ ಬಳಿಯ

9 ಹಿ . ದ ಸೆಟ್ಟಿಯ ಅಳಿಯ ದೇವರುಸೆಟ್ಟಿ ಮೂಡಿಲವರು ನಡ[ಸು]-

10 ವ ಸಹಾಯದಿಂದ ಜಯಿನಾಗಮ . . . . ಸಂಸುತನಾದ ಶ್ರೀ

11 ಜಿನಭಕ್ತ ದೇವರುಸೆಟ್ಟಿ ತಂನ ಕಯಿಂದ ಹೊಂನಕೊಟ್ಟು ಮೂಲ-

12 ವ ಕೊಂಡು ಬಡಗ ಮಠದಲು 6 ಮಂದಿ ಬ್ರಾಂಹ್ಮಣರ ಭೋಜ-
