TEXT OF INSCRIPTIONS

63 ಸಾವಿರ ಗೋವಕೊಂದ ಪಾತಕಕೆ ಹೋಹರು|| ದಾನಪಾಲನಯೋರ್ಮಧ್ಯೇ
ದಾನಾಸ್ರೇಯೋನ್ರುಪಾಲನಂ[|*] ದಾ –

64 ನಾ ಸ್ವರ್ಗ್ಗಮವಾಪ್ನೋತಿ ಪಾಲನಾದಚು[ತ]೦ ಪದಂ[||*] ಸ್ಚದತ್ತಂ ಪರದತ್ತಂ ವಾ
ಯೋ ಹರೇತಿ ವಸುಂಧ –

65 ರಾ [|*] ಷಷ್ಟಿರ್ವರುಷ ಸಹಸ್ರಾಣಿ ವಿಷ್ಟಾಯಾಂ ಜಾಯತೇ ಕ್ರಿಮಿ[||*] ಮಂಗಳ

HANDĀḌI, UDIPI TALUK, SOUTH KANARA DISTRICT

Slab set up in the prākāra of Heggaḍe Gōpālakṛishṇa temple

Veṅkaṭādrirāya, 1542 A.D.

This is dated Śaka 1464, Śubhakṛit, Āśvija śu. 12, Wednesday corresponding to 1542 A.D., September 20.

It registers a gift of lands for the maintenance of a maṭha by Aṇṇu-haḍavaḷa, younger brother of Īśarahaḍuvaḷa who got it built in the temple of Gōpināthadēva constructed by Saṅku-heggaḍe. The gift was made with the approval of the residents of the village. It states that Atyappa-voḍeya was ruling the rājya (perhaps the same as Bārakūru-rājya) under the orders of the king. This governor may be the same as Achchappa-oḍeya reffered to in No. 185 above.

1 ಶ್ರೀ ಗಣಾಧಿಪತಯೇಂ ನಮ[B*] ಶ್ರೀ ಸರಸ್ವತ್ಯೈಂ ನಮ[B*] ಶ್ರೀ ಗುರುಭ್ಯೋಂ
ನಮ[B*] ನಿರ್ವಿಘ್ನಮಸ್ತು .

2 ನಮಸ್ತುಂಗ ಶಿರಶ್ಚುಂಬಿ ಚಂದ್ರಚಾಮರ ಚಾರವೇ[|*] ತ್ರೈಲೋಕ್ಯ ನಗರಾರಂಭ
ಮೂಲಸ್ತಂಭಾಯ ಶಂಭವೇ[||*]
