UPPUNDA, COONDAPOOR TALUK, SOUTH KANARA DISTRICT

Slab set up in the outer prākāra of Durgā -Parameēśvari temple

Mallikārjuna, 1451 A.D.

This badly damaged record registers a gift of land to the goddess Durgā Paramēśvarī of Uppunda by Bhānappa-voḍeya who was governing Bārakūru-rājya under the orders of mahāpradhāna Va[lla]bha- daṇṇāyaka.

It is dated Śaka 1374, Prajōtpatya, Kārttika śu. 5, Sunday, corresponding to 1451 A.D., October 31. The weekday, however was Saturday.

TEXT

1 ಶ್ರೀ ಗಣಾಧಿಪತಯೇ ನಮಃ ಶ್ರೀ ಗುರುಭ್ಯೋ ನಮಃ ಶ್ರೀ ಸರಸ್ವತ್ಯೈ ನಮಃ¹

2 ನಿರ್ವಿಘ್ನಮಸ್ತು [||*] ನಮಸ್ತುಂಗ ಶಿರಶ್ಚುಂಬಿ ಚಂದ್ರಚಾಮರ ಚಾರವೇ [|*]
