On the west wall of the Kasi-Visvanatha temple.

[Vi]rarajendradeva : Year 20=1226-27 A.D. 

This inscription, of which the beginnings of all the lines are lost, records a gift of one achchu of money by Solan Ilankesvaradevan to the temple of Tiruvalandurai-udaiyar at Tiruvalandurai in Karaivali-nadu, for the decoration (tiru-melpuchchu) of the idol.

On the south wall of the Venkatesa-perumal temple.

Virarajendradeva : Year 15=4=1225-26 A.D. 

This damaged inscription records a sale of land by Amattan-Kari Ilankaiman, a manradi of Irattaiyanpadi in Vaikavi-nadu to Tambiran-tolan an ascetic of the Tirunirittan-tirumadam, situated in the tirumadai-vilagam of the temple of Aludaiyar Muttirattisiramudaiyar at Kolumam in Karaivali-nadu.

This fragmentary record mentions the matha Tirunir[ittan] situated in……….ram-udaiyar tirumadai-vilaga, evidently the same as that which is mentioned in No. 100 above.

This fragmentary inscription of which the date portion is lost, mentions Para-tiriyan Alaga[n] of Pullamangalam, Tambiran-tolan, an ascetic, and Brahmade[sa] in Vaikavi-nadu.

On the north wall of the Venkatesa-perumal temple.

Konerinmaikondan (Virarajendradeva) : Year 21, 82nd day=1227-28 A.D. 

This inscription dated in the 82nd day of the 21st year of the king records the order granting 16 nali of rice daily for food offerings to god Aruvaraiattatta-Pillaiyar, set up at Kolumam by some people (name not clear).

Virarajendradeva: Year 10=1216 A.D. 

This damaged inscription records a grant of land in Kannadipputtur to a matha (name not clear) in the Adirajendran-tirumadai-vilagam in Kolumam by Gangan-solan Anukkappallavaraiyan alias Anukkanambi of Elsilur in Karaivali-nadu.

On the bali-pitha in the Venkatesa-perumal temple.

This fragmentary inscription mentions the god Adiya-solisvaram-udaiyar and a certain Iyakkatimincheya-pallavaraiyan.

Virarajendradeva: c. 1007-50 A. D.

This fragmentary inscription, of which the date portion is lost, probably records a grant of 12 achahu of money by a person or persons (name not preserved) for the decoration (tiru-melpuchchu), evidently of a deity (name not preserved).

Konerinmaikondan (virarajendradeva) : Year [3]=1009-10 A. D.

This inscription records the royal order addressed to Anantanarayana-bhattan alias Tiruvalikku-adiyan of Alagar-Tirumalai in Pandi-mandalam informing the grant of land, for the merit of the king., to the matha of the servants, engaged in burning lamps, of the temple of Alagar-Tirumalai by Sena . . . . narayanan, Alavandi alias Brahmapallavaraiyan of Sri-Viranarayana-chaturvedimangalam, a brahmadeya in Virakerala-valanadu.

On the north base of the karivaradaraja-perumal temple.

Viracholadeva: year 20=1201-03 A. D.

It records the gift of land in Virasolachaturvedimangalam in Virakeralavalanadu, as tiruvilakkuppuram, by Kurangattu Sri-Krishnan of Sri-Kumarangavima-chaturvedimangalam, a brahmadeya in Karaivali-nadu to the temple of Kariyapiran for burning 16 lamps in the temple.

On the west and south bases of the Karivaradaraja-perumal temple.

Konerinmaikondan (Virarajendra ?) :Year 22=1228-29 A. D. (?)

It records the order of the king addressed to the servants of the temple pf Kariyapiran assigning the paddy due as svamibhoga I to the Brahmavhchakravartis, the priests in the (various) temples (tirumurram) in all the three districts, viz. Vaigavi-nadu, Karaivali-nadu and Virakerala-valanadu and the dakshina given to the Brahmachchakravartis in the temple pf Kariyapiran on such occasions as festivals foe food offerings to god Singapperumal (i.e., Narasimha) set up in the temple by the Brahmachchakravartis.

This inscription records the gift of land by the Brahmachchakravartti Srivallabham Sundarabahu-bhatta-somayaji of Bharadvaja gatra, belonging to pullur, for food offerings to the god Singapperumal (i. e., Narasimha) set up in the temple of Kariyapiran by him.

This inscription records the royal order, addressed to who individuals informing them of the gift of land to Narana-dasan of Vankurugur for maintaining a flower-garden dedicated to the god Emberuman Vedanayaka-perumal of Tirunarayanapuram for the merit of the king.

This inscription records an order of the king addressed to the Sri-V aishnavar  and the temple servants of Tiruvaranga in Solamandalam granting lands situated in the parru belonging to the sabha of Kovanputtur alias Virakeralanallur in Perur-nadu for food offerings daily and on special occasions to the god Alagiyamanavala-peruaml.

This incomplete inscription records an order of the king addressed to the Nagara-dasa of Vankurugur granting lands in Parutikulach-chaturvedimangalam situated to the east of the tank at Kolumam in Karaivali-nadu for maintaining a flower-garden named after the king dedicated by Jananathabrahmadhirayan to the god Vedanayaka-perumal, for the merit of the king.

North wall of the Karivaradaraja-perumal temple.

Virarajendradeva :Year 25=Saka. 1153:1231-32 A. D.

This inscription dated in the 60th day of the 25th year of the records his order granting a land called Pannirukulavan situated in the village of Ulagudaiyapirattich-chaturvedimangalam in Rajaraja-valanadu which was separated from karaivali-nadu for food offerings to the ten Alvars in the temple of the god Alagar (in the standing pose) at Tirumalirunjolai in Kil Iraniyamutta-nadu, a sub-division of Pandiomandalam, during the Virarajendran-sandhi named after the king.

Sangramanallur, Udumalaipet Taluk, Coimbatore District

South wall of the central shrine in the Cholesvara temple.

Virarajendradeva :Year 45=1251-52 A. D.

This inscription records the setting up of (an image of ) Aludaiyar Nittaninraduvar (i. e., Nataraja) in place of the old one, probably damaged during the war of the northerners, of the temple of Aludaiyar Virachohsvaram-udaiyar at Kolumum (i. e., Sangramanallur) in Karaivali-nadu, by a certain Alavandan Avinasi alias Kachchiyarayan. It also records his gift of lands, to provide for offerings to the same deity, at Kadarruralias Irasarasanallur in Karaivali-nadu, purchased for certain specified amounts of money, in avanach-yakki-palanchalagai coins.

Tribh Konerinmaikondan Virarajendradeva : No date: e. 1207-52 A. D.

It is incomplete and damaged. It refers to the devastation caused to Karaivali-nadu during the king’s invasion and to the damages done to the temples in a number of places (in the nadu). It records the gift made by the king of the village Irattaiyanpadi in Vaikavi-nadu as a devadana to a number of temple including the temple of Viracholisvaram-udaiyar, etc., probably of Kolumam, the temple of Tirumarududaiyar of Kadarrur, etc., It is stated that this gift excludes the devadanas, tiruvidaiyattam and manradu already existing in the village and that the existing tenants would continue there and no tenant from another village should be allowed to be tenant here.

Tribh Konerinmaikondan : Virarajendradeva : Year 25=1231-32 A. D.

This inscription is incomplete at the end. It records a gift of paddy, made by the king. To provide food daily for three ascetics (tapassiyar) of the Tiruttondattogaiyan-matham in the Viracholan-tirumadaivilagam of the temple of Viracholisvaram-udaiyar in Kolumam. It is stipulated that one tapassiyar would chant the Tirumurai and offer worship to the deity and another would attend to the preparation of the bed-chamber of the deity. The work allotted to the third tapassiyar is not clear.

Tribh Konerinmaikondan Virarajendra : Year 15+1+1=1223-24 A.D.

This inscription is incomplete and damaged.  It records a gift of paddy, made by the king, to a private individual named Kandan Adiyan alias Valavinan Udaiyan, in the village of Kallapuram alias Virasolanallur, a devadana of the god Viracholisvaramudaiyar.  It appears that this done was enjoined to render certain services to the god Viracholisvaramudaiyar.

South base of the mandapa in front of the same shrine.

Konerinmaikondan (Virarajendra) : Year 13=1219-20 A.D.

This inscription contains an order of the king addressed to the servants etc., of the temple of Viracholisvaramudaiyar in Kolumam recording a gift of paddy, made by the king, to the deity Pillai Perumpillai Alvar for providing offerings on the occasion of the durbar function of the deity held on the day of the asterism Bharani in the month of Chittirai for the merit of the king.  It is attested by Vairadarayan.

Konerinmelkondan (Virarajendra ?) : Year 16=1222-23 A.D.

This inscription is damaged in some places. It records a gift made by the king of the village of Umaparamesvarinallur in Kavadikka-nadu as devadana together with its existing tenants, to the goddess in the temple of Viracholayis-varamudaiyar.  It is stipulated that the various taxes, paid in the form of kalanjus (gold coins) by the tenants of the gift village, should be paid as the villages of the devadana Devanpadi did.  It is further stated that the taxes should revived and remitted to the temple treasury by the temple tanattars (trustees) and not by the members of the temple executive council. 

It is attested by Virarajendra-Piramap-Pallavaraiyan.

North wall of the same shrine.

Tribh Konerinmaikondan (Virarajendra) : Year 29, 98th day=1235-36 A. D.

This inscription records a gift of land, made by the king, to provide for food offerings and other services to the deity Chokkanar represented by an asrayalinga set up by a certain Tillaivinayakan in the temple of Viracholisvaramudaiyar at Kolumam. The gift-land is stated to be situated in the village Ulagudaippiratti-chaturvvedimangalam in Karaivali-nadu. The signatories were Villavadaraiyan and Tondaiman.

This inscription is a copy of No. 175 above, addressed to tanattar (trustees) of the Viracholisvaramudaiya-nayanar of Kolumam.

Sangramanallur, Udumalaipet Taluk, Coimbatore District

Slab set up in front of the central shrine in the same temple.

No King ; (Virarajendra) : Vilambi, Ani 3=May 29, 1238 A. D.

This is a late record. It registers the gift of the six villages, viz., Viracholapuram, Irrattayampadi, Mulaikkallapuram, Sinnakkalaimari, Melaikkannadipputtur and Teni in favour of (the deity) Nittiyappar, by Andaperumalayyan, the agent of a certain [.]shamanappa-nayakkar-ayyan. The record was written by Chidambaranathan on the orders of Sevandinatha-pillai, the temple accountant.

This inscription records that the soldiers must protect the temple of Virachola-isvaramudaiyar, its gopuram and its premises.

South wall of the central shrine in the temple of Avanasisvara

Virarajendradeva : Year 21=1227-28 A.D. 

This inscription records the endowment of three salakai of Sriyakki achchu with the temple to provide for food-offerings during one sandki to the deity Kshetrapalappillaiyar by a certain Virapperumal Edirilaldan, a Pillai of the king.

Rajekesarivarman alias Tribh Virarajendradeva: Year 15=1221-22 A.D. 

This inscription is incomplete.  It records the undertaking given by a certain[.....] Avinasi alias Sikaliyan of Kasyapa-gotra, a Sivabrahmana having a right in the temple, to burn 32 sandhyadipas in the temple with the oil endowed during his grandfather’s time as well as oil and other things endowed now.  Also records the undertaking given probably by the same person to feed ascetics during the midday worship in the temple.  With the help of the amount of ten kalanju of god endowed by Arrurudaiyan Tiruppurampiyamudaiyan.

Virarajendradeva : Year 17, Masi=c. 1223-24 A. D.

A portion of this inscription is lost. It records the gift of one hundred achchu (coins) to provide for food-offerings (probably to the deity Avinasi Aludaiyar), by a person (name lost). It mentions a certain brahmana named Sivallan.

Konerinmaikondan Virarajendra : No. date :c. 1207-52 A. D.

This inscription records an order of the addressed to the servants of the deity Aludaiyar, granting the village of Papparpundi alias Virarajendranallur in Vadaparisara-nadu, as a devadana to the temple. It is stated that the village was made habitable then.

Tribh Virarajendradeva : Year 29=1235-36 A. D.

This inscription records a gift of land made by a certain merchant named Maraudanmudali alias Vanikachakkaravartti of Muttam alias Amarabhuyankaranallur in Peru-nadu to provide for food-offerings to the deity Avinasi Aludaiyar Kuttaduvar.

Tribh Virarajendradeva : Year 28=1234-35 A. D.

This inscription records an endowment of 14 Palanjalakai achchu in the temple of Avinasiyaludaiyar, by the prince Nachchinarkkiniyar alias Kandiyadevar, for oil for bathing the image of the god Avinasiyaludaiyar and of the goddess Perunkarunaichchelviyar of the Tirukkamakkottam on Saturdays and also for giving to the people suffering from diseases. It is stipulated that the servants of deity, on receipt of the endowment, should measure out every Saturday the specified quantity of oil at the shrine of the goddess.

This inscription is damaged and incomplete and the date portion is lost.

It seems to record some gift made by a certain Virarajendra-Anittirap-pallavaraiyan to the image of Dakshinamurtti set up by some manradis and priests.

Tribh Virarajendradeva : Year 18=1224-25 A. D.

This inscription seems to have been damaged and some passages are missing. It appears to record some gift to the god Vinayakappillaiyar in the temple of Tiruv-Anantisvaramudaiyar, by a certain person (name lost) who was a senapati of the king.

East wall of the Selva-Vinayaka temple in the village.

Virarajendradeva : No date : (13th century).

This fragmentary inscription seems to record a gift of 3 kasu to provide for food-offerings. Other details are lost.

Solamadfvi, Udumalaipet Taluk, Coimbatore District

In the same place as above.

Virarajendradeva : Year 15=1221-22 A. D.

This inscription is much damaged. It records a gift of land in Solanmadevinallur in Karaivali-nadu made by a certain individual named Siraimittaperumal to the same god figuring in No. 234 above, for the festival conducted on the Tiruvadiral days in the month of Margali and for conducting the procession of the image on those days. Amongst the boundaries of the gift-land is mentioned a land belonging to the deity Konguvilanka-isvaramudaiyar of Kadirrur given to it by Jayangondasoladevar.

This inscription is damaged and incomplete. It seems to record a gift of land, and mentions Solamadevinallur in Karaivali-nadu.

Solamadevi, Udumalaipet Taluk, Coimbatore District Same wall.

Tribh Virarajendradeva : Year 29=1235-36 A. D.

This inscription records a gift of a grove by Perumal alias Perumaltolan to the Melaittirumatham (the holy monastery on the western side) of the temple of Kulasekhara-Isvaramudaiyar in the village (name omitted). It is stated that the gift was intended for a lamp and for providing vegetable dishes on the said matham.
