It contains a Sanskrit verse engraved in Grantha characters, praising a Chola king and the god Hara (i. e., Siva) in the dancing aspect.

It appears to record a gift of land to the image of the goddess Durgai Mahesvari, probably of Tirunallam, by the sabhai of the place. The land seems to have belonged to Vaikanasan Barggavan Narayanan and Barggavan [Saeuppedi] Sri-Krishnan of the same place.

The village Pungudi, a devadanam of the god Tirunallamudaiyar is mentioned in connection with the boundary of the gift-land.
