Registers the royal grant of the village of Rēyūru situated to
the north of Asidhārāpura in Mēl-Muṇḍa-rāshṭra to Kumāra-
Maṇḍaśarman, son of Kumāraśarman, and grandson of
Kūḷaśarman, a resident of Kuravaśrī and of the Rāthitara
gōtra and Āpastamba sūtra. The king is given the epithets
Rājarshi-guṇa-sarva-sandōha, Paramabhāgavata, Parama-
māhēśvara and Paramabrahmaṇya and described as the son of Paramēśvaravarman and grandson of Mahēndra-

The grant consists of 55 plates falling into three groups. The
first comprising three plates is entirely in Sanskrit written
in Grantha characters. It gives the genealogy of the Chōḷa
family upto Rajēndra Chōḷa I and records the gift of the
village Tribhuvanamahādēvi-agrahāra to a number of Brāh-
maṇas. The second group consists of 22 plates and is in
Tamil language. It starts by referring to the king by the
title Kōnērinmaikoṇḍān and quotes the regnal year 8 and
107th day. It gives details of lands included in Tribhu-
vanamahādēvi-chaturvēdimaṅgalam after which the king
is introduced with his praśasti commencing with the words,
Tirumanni-vaḷara. etc. It concludes by mentioning the
boundaries of the gift village and the officials connected
with the grant. The third group of thirty plates, also in
Tamil, contains merely the names of the Brāhmaṇa donees of the village Tribhuvanamahādēvi-chaturvēdimaṅgalam.

This set consisting of two stray plates which were found along
with the above number forms the concluding portion of some
grant evidently made by the same Chōḷa king mentioned
above. They contain the names of some persons who received shares for services rendered.

the office of Vaiśya-kula-guru i.e. high priest of the Vaiśya
community, having jurisdiction over the Vaiśya communities
belonging to the 18 paṭṭaṇas and 102 nagaras to one Bhūpat-yāchārya, son of Bhāskarapaṇḍita. It is stated that when one Kṛishṇaya claimed the same right, the dispute was referred to the local administrator Abdul Hussain Saheb
who after due examination of the documentary evidence declared in favour of Bhūpat-yāchārya.

Records the grant of a village called Ardhākamaṇḍuka,
together with (the locality) Chandanavāṭaka, situated in
Parakkhalamārga-vishaya by Mahārāja Dharmarāja, who
was administering Padmakhōlī, to a number of Brāhmaṇas,
upādhyāya Maṭūsvāmin and others. Dharmarāja is stated
to be of the family of Ubhaya and born of Bappadēvī and
