This begins with introduction Pugalmadu etc., it is damaged and incomplete and stops with the mention of the date Ani, su. 4. Puram and the expression agara-Brahmadeyam denoting a village.

Rajak. Kulottunga –Chola-44th Year

The inscription begins with introduction Pugalmadu etc.  The inscription is Much damaged and seems to record an endowment of land for the daily feeding of 2 Siva yogis, and of money for burning a perpetual lamp in the temple of Kalakala-devar at Tirukkadavur in Ambar-nadu a sub division of Rajanarayana-valanadu, by one Sirilango Adittadevar alias Arindaman-Muvendave [lan] of Eramel in [Ki] la-Nadu a division of Rajadhiraja-valaradu, who is said to have been the Palliyari Nayakam of the god.

Amritaghatesvara Temple-On The South Base Of The Central Shrine

Rajak.  Kulottunga-Chola I – 26th Year (A.D. 1095-6).

The inscription begins with expression Pugalmadu vilanga etc., it registers an endowment of two pieces of land making up 2 3/4 veli in extent by the sabha of Tirukkadavur, for the maintenance of some Siva yogis attached to a matha called the Kugiliyakkalai [yar-madam] in the temple, which was evidently established by one Palandiparayan of Sirramur, and for the requirement of worship during the ardhayama and the palli-eluchchi services in the temple.  The gift is said to have been made for the well being of the king’s person.  The record is incomplete.

Jambunatha Temple-On The Same Wall

Kulottunga I – 40th Year (A.D. 1109-10)

The inscription begins with the introduction Pugalmadu vilanga etc.  It registers the gift as tax-free devadana of a village by name Kulakkudi alias Virasola-nallur on the south bank of the Pennai by a royal order issued at the request of Tantonrisvaram-udaiya-Mahadeva at Sanbai alias Virarajendrapuram on the Northern bank the river and situated in Vanagappadi Rajendra-valanadu. The anatarayam tax included in the transaction is fixed at 79 kalanju.

Jambunatha Temple-On The Wall Of The Kitchen, Left Of Entrance. 

Tribh. Vijayarajendradeva-4th Year (Kulottunga-Chola I?)

This is damaged.  It records the construction of this tirumadaippalli (kitchen) in the temple of Tantonri-Aludaiyanayanar at Sanbai alias Virarajendrapuram in Vanagoppadi (a division) of Rajarajavalanadu by a lady by name [megan Karunaiyali] alias Svamikkuppilaiyadal wife of Akkivalavan Pallavaraiyan alias mndaippillai Vijayarayan, the headman of Kurugadi in Tenkilar-nadu a division of nittavinoda-valanadu.  She seems to have also made a gift of land as tirumadaip-pallippuram (for its maintenance) and to meet the expenses of a festival in Purattadi month.

Gramardhanatha Temple-On The Same Wall

Raj. Kulottunga-Chola (I) – 48th Year (A.D. 1117-18).

The introduction begins with the words pugalmadu vilanga.  The inscription registers a sale of (a quarter veli and half ma of) wet land with a well and two house sites, twenty kuli in extent, belonging to two ex-accountants in the village Iraiyanaraiyur by the sabha of the place to the temple of Urudaiya-Paramesvarar, for the requirements of worship to the goddess Tiruppalliyarai-Nambirattiyar consecrated by Araiyan Ponnambalakkuttam alias Tondaimanar the headman of Arumbakkam adjoining Manavil in Manaiyir-kottam a division of jayangondasolamandalam.  The cost of the lands amounted to 13 and odd kasu and 3 kalanju of gold of which the former was the cash endowment made by the Tondaimanar at the time of consecration and the latter, that made by the madhyastha of the village for the supply of ghee on the day of festival in Karttigai Month every year.  The necessity of the sabha for the sale of land is said to be its obligation to make up the amount of kadamai due to the king which had been defalcated by the two accountants, whose property therefore was now confiscated by the order of the king.

Gramardhanatha Temple-In The Same Place.

Raj. Kulottunga-Chola I – 35th Year (A.D. 1104-05).

The introduction Pugalmadu vilanga etc. is only briefly given in this record. It registers the transfer (by order of the king) of the village Vangal alias Parundengal comprising twenty veli of wet and dry lands in Kilar-Kurram under A new name Malaiyavichchadiranallur from (the jurisdiction of) Vanakovaraiyar As devadana to the temple of  Urbagankondarulina-Mahadeva, with the tax (irai) due to the temple fixed at 70 kalam of paddy on every veli of wet land and 30 Kalam on dry land.

Sivalokanatha Temple – On The Same Wall.

Raj. Rajendra-Choladeva (Kulottunga I) – 4th Year.

The inscription is damaged. It registers the sale of half a veli of land tax-free for twenty kasu by the assembly of Parantaka-chaturvedimangalam in Mudiyur-nadu to a certain Pattan Puvan (?) whom they helped to settle in their village and also gave him the surname Parantaka-Peraiyan after the name of the village. At the bottom of the record is a fragment of the prasati of king Rajendradeva.

Siva Temple – On The Same Wall.

Kulottunga-Chola  I – 45th Year (A.D. 1114-15)

The inscription begins with the introduction Pugalmadu vilanga etc. It records a gift of 10 kasu made by Velan Mudigondan alias Sembiyan Vilupparaiyan the headman of Karambiyam in Kilvengai-nadu a division of Rajaraja-valanadu and deposited with two Sivabrahmanas of the temple of Tiruppanangadudaiyar for burning a perpetual lamp in the temple. The quantity of oil to be supplied by them as monthly interest on the sum received is said to be 3 ulakku per kasu.

Manikanthesvara Temple – On The Same Wall.

Kulottunga-Chola  (I?) – 27th Year.

This registers the sale of 1000 kuli of temple land tax-free for 4 kasu to a certain Kalaiyan Devaganatan alias Adhirajendra-Tamila-Vilupparaiyan of Samangili in Kayirampedu-nadu a division of Kaliyur-kottam for endowment to a matha in the precincts of the temple. The land is said to have been situated in the devadana village Sirriyarrur in Purasai-nadu a division of Manaiyr-kottam and had lapsed to the temple as the landholder had been a defaulter in the payment of the irai (tax) thereon.

Manikanthesvara Temple – On The Same Wall.

Kulottunga-Chola I – 46th Year (A.D. 1115-16)

This begins with introduction Pugalmadu vilanga etc. It records an endowment of 60 kasu made by Madhurantakan Ponnambalakkuttar alias Kalingarajar the headman of Arumbakkam residing at Manavil in Manavil-nadu a subdivision of Manavir-kottam for burning 10 perpetual lamps in the temple at Tirumalperu in Valla-nadu a division of Damarkottam in Jayangondasolamandalam. The Nagarattar of Pandi alias Lokamadevipuram in the same kottam who received the amount, agreed to measure out as interest thereon, 75 nali of oil every month to the Sivabrahmanas of the temple. The record is attested at the end by 19 signatories including the Nagarakkanakku.

Kulottunga-Chola I – 38th Year (A.D. 1107-08)

This has the introduction Pugalmadu vilanga etc. after a few expressions of Virame tunai introduction of Virarajendra. It records a gift of 30 cows for burning a perpetual lamp in the temple at Tirumalperu in Valla-nadu a division of Damar-kottam in Jayangondasola-mandalam, by Araiyan Virasolan alias Viramarttanda-Vilupparaiyan of Elumullur in Tiruvalaundur-nadu, a division of Rajanarayana-valanadu in Solamandalam.

Manikanthesvara Temple – On The Same Wall.

Kulottunga-Chola I – 41st Year (A.D. 1110-11).

The inscription has the introduction Pugal sulnda punari etc. It registers a sale of 6700 kuli of land known as Mondukolli as urkil iraiyili in addition to another plot of waste land as kudiyiruppu (house site) by the Urar (comprising 16 members) of Nittavinodanallur in Damar-nadu a division of Damar-kottam in Jayangondasola-mandalam for 20 kasu to one Kuttadi Sirudaikkalal alias Solappallavaraiyan of Nagambadi in Mala-nadu a division of Virudaraja-bhayankara-valanadu in Solamandalam for the maintenance of a matha established by him in the tirumadaivilagam  of the temple at Tirumalperu in Valla-nadu under the name Arasasranalayan under the management of a tapasvin called Anbarkk-kudimai dues on the land such as peruvari, silvari etc., and for the supply of water for the irrigation of the land free of cost.

Kulottunga-Chola   I – 26th Year (A.D. 1095-96)

The inscription begins with introduction Pugalsulnda punari etc. It registers an agreement given by the Urar of the devadana village Tirumalperu in Valla-nadu a division of Damarkottam to one Namban Madhurantakadevan alias Kulottungasola-Virainattu-Muvendavelan of Pattikudi in Viraikkurram a division of Madhurantaka-Valanadu on the northern bank of the river, to pay, in consideration of a lump sum received from him, all the kadamai taxes such as nelvari, ponvari, antarayam, sirusungam, and uppukasu and the kudimai dues like echchoru, kurrunel and vettimuttaiyal due on some pieces of land measuring 1600 kuli in all endowed by him to the temple after purchasing the same from several individuals.

This is engraved in continuation of No. 290 above, and is dated in the 27th year of the same king. It registers a tax-free sale of 1969 kuli and odd of land situated in Sirriyarrur in Purisai-nadu a division of Manaiyir-kottam which is said to be a devadana of the temple at Tirumalperu by the temple authorities for a consideration of 10 kasu received by them from the same donor mentioned above, who endowed it back to the temple for the formation of a flower-garden in his name.

Kulottunga-Chola I – 12th Year (A.D. 1080-81)

This is built in at the right end. It begins with the introduction Pugal sulnda punari etc. It records a gift of 90 sheep for burning a perpetual lamp in the temple at Tirumalperu, by one Malaitangi Devan Suryan alias Rajendrasola-Mummalairajan of Nedi-nadu, a division of Perumbanappadi.
