INSCRIPTIONS ON THE WALLS OF THE CENTRAL SHRINE

41. To the shepherd Panangudi Sendan, residing at Karuvugalvallam in Eriy-nadu, (a subdivision) of Pandyakulasani-valanadu, (were assigned) ninety-six ewes in all, (viz.) [sixty] ewes) equivalent) to the ten she-buffaloes assigned out of the she-buffaloes given by the Perundaram Rajakesari-Muvendavelan for the sacred lamps (which he) had (vowed) to put up “(in case) no filth was thrown (on) him in the war of the lord Sri-Rajarajadeva at Kori ;” twenty-four ewes (which could be got) for the eight kasu given out of the money deposited by Sembangudaiyan Amudan Tevan alias Rajavidyadhara-Virupparaiyan of Sembangudi in Avur-kuram, (a subdivision) of Nittavinoda-valanadu, for the sacred lamps (which he) had (vowed) to put up “(in case) no filth was thrown (on) him in the war of the lord Sri-Rajarajadeva at Kori ;” and twelve ewes (equivalent) the six cows assigned out of the cows given by the senapati Kuravan Ulagalandan alias Rajaraja-Maharajan for sacred lamps. From (the milk of these ninety-six ewes) he himself and his dependents, (viz.) the shepherd Serumadan Pattan, living at Karuvugalvallam in Eriy-nadu, (a subdivision) of Pandyakulasani-valanadu ; the shepherd Vemban Kesuvan, living in the same village ; the shepherd Kunran Eruvan, living in the same village ; and the shepherd Uran Or am ban, living in the same village, have to supply (one) urakku of ghee per day, for one sacred lamp, by the Adavallan (measure).

42. To the shepherd Ayiravan Kandan, residing at Mangallanallur in Kirsengili-nadu, (a subdivision) of Pandyakulasani-valanadu, were assigned forty-eight cows in all, (viz.) eleven out of the cows (surabhi) of the lord Sri-Rajarajesvaramudaiyar ; and thirty-seven out of the cows given by the senapati Kuravan Ulagalandan alias Rajaraja-Maharajan for the sacred lamps (which he) had (vowed) to put up “(in case) no filth was thrown (on) him in the war of the lord Sri-Rajarajadeva at Kori.” From (the milk of these forty-eight cows) he himself and his dependent, (viz.) his uterine brothers Ayiravan Achchan and Ayiravan Pidaran ; and Maravan Kaliyan and Maravan Karukkilai, the sons of (his) father’s elder brother, have to supply (one) urakku of ghee per day, for one sacred lamp by the Adavallan (measure).

43. To the shepherd Kari Tarai, residing at Rajarajapuram in Nallur-nadu, (a subdivision) of Nittavinoda-valanadu, were assigned ninety-six ewes out of the ewes given by Rajaraja-Vanogavaraiyan for sacred lamps. From (the milk of these ninety-six ewes) he himself land his dependents, (viz.) his sons Tarai Karumani and Tarai Tiruvengadam ; and (his) uterine brother Kari Narayanan, have to supply (one) urakku of ghee per day, for one sacred lamp, by the Adavallan (measure).

44. To the shepherd Araiyan Paramayan, residing at Uyyakkondan-terinda-tirumanjanattar-velam, outside Tanjavur (were assigned) ninety-six ewes in all, (viz.) twenty-four ewes (which could be got) for the eight kasu given out of the money deposited by Sembangudaiyan Amudan Tevan alias Rajavidyadhara – Virupparaiyan of Sembangudi in Avur-kurram, (a subdivision) of Nittavinoda-valanadu, for the sacred lamps (which he) had (vowed) to put up “(in case) no filth was thrown (on) him in the war of the lord Sri-Rajarajadeva at Kori ;” and seventy-two ewes (equivalent) to the thirty-six cows assigned out of the cows given by the senapati Kuravan Ulagalandan alias Rajaraja-Maharajan for the sacred lamps (which he) had (vowed) to put up “(in case) no filth was thrown (on) him in the war of the lord Sri-Rajarajadeva at Kori.” From (the milk of these ninety-six ewes) he himself and his dependents, (viz.) the shepherd Ti.............. gayan, living at Uyyakkondan-terinda-tirumanjanattar-velam, outside Tanjavur ; the shepherd Suruppan Kandan living in the same velam ; the shepherd Kadan Kuttan living in the same velam ; and the shepherd Pappan Panaiyan, living at Karuvugalvallam in Eriy-nadu, (a subdivision) of Pandyakulasani-valanadu, have to supply (one) urakku of ghee per day, for one sacred lamp, by the Adavallan (measure).

45. To the shepherd Maran Kuttattari, residing at Kshatriyasikhamanipuram in Kirvengai-nadu, (a subdivision) of Rajaraja-valanadu, (were assigned) ninety-six ewes in all, (viz.) sixty-eight ewes (equivalent) to the thirty-four cows, and one ewe to the one heifer (nagukanru) assigned out of the cows given by the lord Sri-Rajarajadeva for sacred lamps ; twelve ewes (which could be got) for the four kasu given out of the money deposited, for sacred lamps, by the royal secretary, Karayil Eduttapadam, the headman of Rajakesarinallur ; and fifteen ewes (which could be got) for the five kasu given out of the money deposited by the Sonagan (i.e. Jonaka) Savur Paranjodi for sacred lamps. From (the milk of these ninety-six ewes) he himself and his dependents, (viz.) the shepherd Sattan Kari, living at Kshatriyasikhamanipuram in Kirvengai-nadu, (a subdivision) of Rajaraja-valanadu ; the shepherd Kamban Tattai, living in the same village ; the shepherd Kulirkoyil Kadan, living in the same village ; and the shepherd Aiyaran Tarivadugan, living in the same village, have to supply (one) urakku of ghee per day, for one sacred lamp, by the Adavallan (measure).

46. To the shepherd Palur Ayiravan, residing at Killikudi in Miysengili-nadu, (a subdivision) of Pandyakulasani-valanadu, (were assigned) ninety-six ewes in all, (viz.) eighty-four ewes (which could be got) for the twenty-eight kasu given out of the money deposited by Adittan Surayan alias Tennavan-Muvendavelan, the headman of Poygai-nadu, for sacred lamps; and twelve ewes (which could be got) for the four kasu given out of the money deposited by the royal secretary, Karayil Eduttapadam, the headman of Rajakesarinallur, for sacred lamps. From (the milk of these ninety-six ewes) he himself and his dependents, (viz.) his son Ayiravan Adigal ; (his) uterine brothers Palur Nilaiyan and Palur Kurundan ; and the shepherd Maraiyaman Nakkan, living at Killikudi in Miysengili-nadu, (a subdivision) of Pandyakulasani-valanadu, have to supply (one) urakku of ghee per day, for one sacred lamp, by the Adavallan (measure).

47. To the shepherd Seri Ilangodaraiyan, residing at Vettiyarpadaividu alias Jayangondasoranallur in Rajaraja-valanadu, (were assigned) ninety-six ewes in all, (viz.) forty-eight ewes (which could be got) for the sixteen kasu, assigned out of the money given by the Perundaram Vayiri Sangaran, of the sacred lamps (which he) had (vowed) to put up “(in case) no filth was thrown (on) him in the war of the lord Sri-Rajarajadeva at Kor” ; and forty-eight ewes (equivalent) to the twenty-four cows assigned out of the cows given by the lord Sri-Rajarajadeva for sacred lamps. From (the milk of these ninety-six ewes) he himself and his dependents, (viz.) his uterine brothers Seri Puvan, Seri Maran and Seri Surri ; and the shepherd Pandan Tari, living at Vettiyarpadaividu alias Jayangonda soranallur in Rajaraja-valanadu, have to supply (one) urakku of ghee per day, for one sacred lamp, by the Adavallan (measure).

48. To the shepherd Ariyan Sivan, residing at Pandivelam, within Tanjavur, were assigned ninety-six ewes in all, (viz.) forty-eight out of the ewes given by Araisurudaiyan Irayiravan Pallavayan alias Mummadi-Sora-Posan of Araisur in Pambuni-kurram, (a subdivision) of Nittavinoda-valanadu, for sacred lamps ; and forty-eight out of the ewes given by the Perundaram Rajaraja-Vanakovaraiyan for sacred lamps. From (the milk of these ninety-six ewes) he himself and his dependents, (viz.) his uterine brother Ariyan Singan ; (his) father’s younger brothers Kari Uran, Kari Sirupuli and Kari Achchan, have to supply (one) urakku of ghee per day, for one sacred lamp, by the Adavallan (measure).

49. To the shepherd Pidaran Vidiyan, residing at Korramangalam in Sundaimulai-nadu, (a subdivision) of Pandyakulasani-valanadu, were assigned ninety-six ewes out of the ewes given by the Perundaram Rajaraja-Vanakovaraiyan for sacred lamps. From (the milk of these ninety-six ewes) he himself and his dependents, (viz.) his son Vidiyan Puvadi ; (his) uterine brother Pidaran Kuttan ; Paramadi Vidiyan, the son of (his) father’s younger brother ; and the shepherd Kalari Enan, living at Korramangalam in Sundaimulai-nadu, (a subdivision) of Pandyakulasani-valanadu have to supply (one) urakku of ghee per day, for one sacred lamp, by the Adavallan (measure).

50. To the shepherd Uran Suvaran, residing at Merkudi in Miypori-nadu, (a subdivision) of Pandyakulasani-valanadu, were assigned ninety-six ewes out of the ewes given for sacred lamps, by the Perundaram Araisurudaiyan Irayiravan Pallavayan alias Mummadi-Sora-Posan of Araisur in Pambuni-kurram, (a subdivision) of Nittavinoda-valanadu. From (the milk of these ninety-six ewes) he himself land his dependents, (viz.) his uterine brother Uran Kalari ; (his) nephew Mandai Pattan ; and Virundan Kari and Virundan Uran, the son of his father’s younger brother, have to supply (one) urakku of ghee per day, for one sacred lamp, by the Adavallan (measure).

51. To the shepherd Nakkan Kadan, residing at Karuvugalvallam in Eriy-nadu, (a subdivision) of Pandyakulasani-valanadu, were assigned ninety-six ewes out of the ewes given by the Perundaram Rajaraja-Vanakovaraiyan for sacred lamps. From (the milk of these ninety-six ewes) he himself and his dependents, (viz.) his uterine brother Nakkan Pudi ; Seruvidai Kari, the son of his father’s younger brother ; and his (i.e. the latter’s) on Kari Seruvidai ; and the shepherd Pugaran Pattan, living at Perumullur in Panriyur-nadu, (a subdivision) of Rajaraja-valanadu, have to supply (one) urakku of ghee per day, for one sacred lamp, by the Adavallan (measure).

52. To the shepherd Kadan Sirkolli, residing at Vadavayidam in Kirsudinadu, (a subdivision) of Pandyakulasani-valanadu, (were assigned) ninety-six ewes in all, (viz.) fourteen ewes (equivalent) to the seven cows given out of the cows presented by the lord Sri-Rajrajadeva for sacred lamps ; and eighty-two out of the ewes given by the Perundaram Rajaraja-Vanakovaraiyan for sacred lamps. From (the milk of these ninety-six ewes) he himself and his dependents, (viz.) his son Sirukolli Sendan and (his) uterine brother Kadan Sendan, have to supply (one) urakku of ghee per day, for one sacred lamp, by the Adavallan (measure).

53. To the shepherd Karanai Narayanan, residing at Kurukkai in Kirsudinadu, (a subdivision) of Pandyakulasani-valanadu, (were assigned) ninety-six ewes in all, (viz.) twelve ewes (equivalent) to the six cows given out of the cows presented by the lord Sri-Rajarajadeva for sacred lamps ; thirty out of the ewes given by the Perundaram Vanakovaraiyan for sacred lamps ; and fifty-four ewes (which could be got) for the eighteen kasu given out of the money deposited for sacred lamps by (the retinue called) Jananathan-terinda-Parivarattar From (the milk of these ninety-six ewes) he himself and his dependents, (viz.) his son Narayanan Koli ; and (his) uterine brothers Karanai Surri and Karanai Nagan, have to supply (one) urakku of ghee per day, for one sacred lamp, by the Adavallan (measure).

54. To the shepherd Kari Mani, residing at Sivadasansolai alias Rajaraja-Brahma-maharajan-padaividu, outside Tanjavur, were assigned ninety-six ewes in all, (viz.) fifty-two out of the ewes presented by the lord Sri-Rajarajadeva for sacred lamps ; and forty-four out of the ewes given by the Perundaram Uttarangudaiyan Kon Vidividangan alias Villavan-Muvendavelan for the sacred lamps (which he) had (vowed) to put up “(in case) no filth was thrown (on) him in the war of the lord Sri-Rajarajadeva at Kori.” From (the milk of these ninety-six ewes) he himself and his dependents, (viz.) his father (tamappan) Sendan Kari ; the shepherd Pappan Kalari, living in (the street called) Anaikkaduvar-teru, outside Tanjavur ; the shepherd Pidaran Kuttan, living at Sivadasansolai alias Rajaraja-Brahma-maharajan-padaividu, outside Tanjavur ; and the shepherd Tangi Kutteran, living in the same padaividu, have to supply (one) urakku of ghee per day, for one sacred lamp, by the Adavallan (measure).

55. To the shepherd Vadugan Vemban, residing at Tirupparanam, a devadana in Mirai-kurram, (a subdivision) of Rajendrasimha-valanadu, were assigned forty-eight cows in all, (viz.) thirty-six out of the cows given by the senapati Kuravan Ulagalandan alias Rajaraja-Maharajan for the sacred lamps (which he) had (vowed) to put up “(in case) no filth was thrown (on) him in the war of the lord Sri-Rajarajadeva at Kori ;” and twelve cows (equivalent) to the twenty-four ewes, assigned for sacred lamps out of the ewes given by the Perundaram Rajaraja-Vanakovaraiyan. From (the milk of these forty-eight cows) he himself and his dependents, (viz.) Vengadavan Iraman, the son of his father’s elder brother ; (his) maternal uncles Kadan Pattan and Kadan Marudan ; and (his) cousin Purambi Panangadan, have to supply (one) urakku of ghee per day, for one sacred lamp, by the Adavallan (measure).

56. To the shepherd Pusal Kuttan, residing at Kodandapuram in Rajaraja-valanadu, (were assigned) ninety-six ewes in all (viz.) ninety ewes (equivalent) to the fifteen she-buffaloes, and three ewes to the one heifer (nagukanru), given out of the she-buffaloes which were the cattle (madu) of Iladamadeviyar and which (she) gave for sacred lamps to (the image of) Pasupatamurtigal set up by her ; and two ewes (equivalent) to the one cow, and one ewe to the one calf (kanru), given out of the cows (surabhi) of the lord Sri-Rajarajesvaramudaiyar. From (the milk of these ninety-six ewes) he himself and his dependents, (viz.) his cousin Kanan Pusal ; the shepherd Kari Mili, living at Korramngalam in Sundaimulai-nadu, (a subdivision) of Pandyakulasani-valanadu ; the shepherd Mudavan Sirreman, living at Kondandapuram in Rajaraja-valanadu ; and the shepherd Kadukkari Sandiran, living in the same village, have to supply (one) urakku of ghee per day, for one sacred lamp, by the Adavallan (measure).

57. To the shepherd Tuttan Kari, residing at Uyyakkondan-terinda-tirumanjanattar-velam, outside Tanjavur, (were assigned) ninety-six ewes in all, (viz.) forty-eight ewes (equivalent) to the twenty-four cows given out of the cows presented for sacred lamps by the lord Sri-Rajarajadeva ; and forty-eight ewes (which could be got) for the sixteen kasu, given out of the money deposited by the Perundaram Rajakesari-Muvendavelan for the sacred lamps (which he) had (vowed) to put up “(in case) no filth was thrown (on) him in the war of the lord Sri-Rajarajadeva at Kori.” From (the milk of these ninety-six ewes) he himself and his dependents, (viz.) his uterine brother Tuttan Vemban ; (his) brother-in-law (machchunan) Kalari Koramban ; the shepherd Tamiran Vidattal, living at Kalamalai in Punril-kurram, (a subdivision) of Rajaraja-valanadu ; and the shepherd Nattan Kurudan, living at Uyyakkondan-terinda-tirumanjanattar-velam, outside Tanjavur, have to supply (one) urakku of ghee per day, for one sacred lamp, by the Adavallan (measure).

58. To the shepherd Manni Kunran, residing at Aragiyasorapuram in Rajaraja-valanadu, (were assigned) ninety-six ewes in all, (viz.) fifty-two ewes (equal) to the twenty-six cows given out of the cows presented by the lord Sri-Rajarajadeva for sacred lamps; and forty-two ewes (which could be got) for the fourteen kasu given out of the money deposited by Suvara-Pattan-Puvatta-Pattanar of Kottaiyur,— who carried on the duties of arbitrator (naduvirukkai) in Kamaravalli-chaturvedimangalam, a brahmadeya in Mirai-kurram, (a subdivision) of Rajendrasimha-valanadu,— for the sacred lamps (which he) had (vowed) to put up “(in case) no filth was thrown (on) him in the war of the lord Sri-Rajarajadeva at Kori;” and two ewes (which could be got) for the five akkam given out of the treasury of the lord Sri-Rajararajesvaramudaiyar. From (the milk of these ninety-six ewes) he himself and his dependents, (viz.) his uterine brother Manni Arangan ; Araiyan Kandan, (his) cousin ; the shepherd Kurundan Pichchan, living at Aragiyasorapuram in Rajaraja-valanadu ; and the shepherd Kunan Manni, living in the same village, have to supply (one) urakku of ghee per day, for one sacred lamp, by the Adavallan (measure).

59. To the shepherd Munaiyan Araiyan, residing at Kurukkai in Kirsudi-nadu, (a subdivision) of Pandyakulasani-valanadu, (were assigned) ninety-six ewes in all (viz.) twelve ewes (equivalent) to the six cows given out of the cows presented by the lord Sri-Rajarajadeva for sacred lamps; twenty-seven ewes assigned out of the ewes given by the Perundaram Rajaraja – Vanakovaraiyan for sacred lamps ; thirty-six ewes (which could be got) for the twelve kasu given out of the money deposited by (the retinue called) Jananatha-terinda-Parivarattar for sacred lamps ; and twenty-one ewes (which could be got) for the seven kasu given out of the money deposited by the Perundaram Vayiri Sangaran for the sacred lamps (which he) had (vowed) to put up “(in case) no filth was thrown (on) him in the war of the lord Sri-Rajarajadeva at Kori.” From (the milk of these ninety-six ewes) he himself and his dependents, (viz.) Sattan Achchan, the younger brother of his father ; Sandiran Kalattur, the son of his father’s younger brother ; the shepherd Tari Komadi living at Kurukkai kin Kirsudi-nadu, (a subdivision) of Pandykulasani-valanadu ; and the shepherd Tari Sattan, living in the same village, have to supply (one) urakku of ghee per day, for one sacred lamp, by the Adavallan (measure).

60. To the shepherd Tolan Iniyan, residing at Maraiyur in Punrir-kurram, (a subdivision) of Pnadyakulasani-valanadu, (were assigned) ninety-six ewes in all, (viz.) twelve ewes (equivalent) to the six cows given out of the cows presented for sacred lamps by the lord Sri-Rajarajadeva ; and eighty-four ewes assigned out of the ewes given by the Perundaram Rajaraja-Vanakovaraiyan for sacred lamps. From (the milk of these ninety-six ewes) he himself and his dependents, (viz.) his son Iniyan Vadugan ; (his) uterine brother Tolan Murangan ; his father’s younger brother Vidaman Kari ; and Taniyan Uran, the son of his father’s younger brother, have to supply (one) urakku of ghee per day, for one sacred lamp, by the Adavallan (measure)..

61. To the shepherd Sattan Arangan, residing at Kalattur in Misengili-Nadu, (a subdivision) of Pandyakulasani-valanadu, (were assigned) ninety-six ewes in all, (viz.) sixty-three ewes (which could be got) for the twenty-one kasu given out of the money deposited for sacred lamps by Pudi Sattan, the headman of Midur ; eighteen ewes (which could be got) for the six kasu given out of the money deposited by the Perundaram Vayiri Sangaran for the sacred lamps (which he) had (vowed) to put up “(in case) no filth was thrown (on) him in the war of the lord Sri-Rajarajadeva at Kor ;” and fifteen ewes (which could be got) for the five kasu given out of the money deposited by Sembangudaiyan Amudan Tevan alias Rajavidyadhara-Virupparaiyan of Sembangudi in Avur-kurram, (a subdivision) of Nittavinoda-valanadu, for the sacred lamps (which he) had (vowed) to put up (in case) no filth was thrown (on) him in the war of the lord Sri-Rajarajadeva at Kori.” From (the milk of these ninety-six ewes) he himself and his dependents, (viz.) the shepherd Merkudaiyan Namban, living at Kalattur in Miysengili-nadu, (a subdivision) of Pandyakulasani-valanadu ; the shepherd Sattan Nichchal, living in the same village ; the shepherd Tanakkan Surri, living in the same village ; and the shepherd Karunagulavan Sikittan, living in the same village, have to supply (one) urakku of ghee per day, for one sacred lamp, by the Adavallan (measure).

62. To the shepherd Kurundan Sattan, residing at Puvanur alias Avanikesari-chaturvedimangalam in Venni-kurram, (a subdivision) of Nittavinoda-valanadu, were assigned forty-eight cows out of the cows given for sacred lamps by the Perundaram Namban Kuttadi alias Jayangonda-Sora-Brahma-maharajan. From (the milk of these forty-eight cows) he himself and his dependents, (viz.) his uterine brother Kurundan Kari ; and the shepherd Puvadi Pisangan, living at Malaiya[n]-padaividu in Kirvengai-nadu, (a subdivision) of Rajaraja-valanadu, have to supply (one) urakku of ghee per day, for one sacred lamp, by the Adavallan (measure).

63. To the lshepherd Kandan Aiyan, residing at Nattarnallur in Rajaraja-valanadu, were assigned forty-eight cows in all, (viz.) forty-six out of the cows given by the [Perundaram] Tirumalai Vengadan, [the headman of Vayalur] for sacred lamps ; and two out of the cows given by Namban Kuttadi alias Jayangonda-Sora-Brahma-maharajan for sacred lamps. From (the milk of these forty-eight cows) he himself and his dependents, (viz.) his father’s younger brother Aiyaran Irayari ; and the shepherd Maran Ponnan, living at................ in Rajaraja-valanadu, have to supply (one) urakku of ghee per day, for one sacred lamp, by the Adavallan (measure).

64. To the shepherd Araiyan Sattan, residing at Olaimanga[la]m, in Sennimangala-kurram, (a subdivision) of Rajaraja-valanadu, were assigned [forty-eight] cows out of the cows given by the Perundaram Karikala-Karna-Pallavaraiyan for sacred lamps. From (the milk of these forty-eight cows) the himself and his dependents (viz.) (his) cousin Kari Sattan ; and Pattan Araiyan, the son of his father’s younger brother, have to supply (one) urakku of ghee per day, for one sacred lamp, by the Adavallan (measure).

65. To the shepherd Mayilai Sadaiyan, residing at Gandaraditya-chaturvedimangalam in Poygai-nadu, (a subdivision) of Rajendrasimha-valanadu, were assigned forty-eight cows out of the cows given by the Perundaram Tirumalai Vengadan, the headman of Vayalur, for sacred lamps. To the shepherd Vidaman Kalambu, residing at Perungolur in Pandyakulasani-valanadu, were assigned forty-eight cows out of the cows given by the perundaram Tirumalai Vengadan, the headman of Vayalur, for sacred lamps. From (the milk of these forty-eight cows) he himself and his dependents, (viz.) his son Kalambu Vidaman ; the shepherd Nakkan Maran, living at Perungolur in Pandykulasani-valanadu ; the shpherd Muvaraiyan Sattan, living in the same village ; and the shepherd Tevan Orri, living in the same village, have to supply (one) urakku of ghee per day, for one sacred lamp, by the Adavallan (measure).

69. To the shepherd Pidaran Vilandai, residing at Tenkudi in Poyir-kurram, (a subdivision) of Rajaraja-valanadu, were assigned forty-eight cows out of the cows given by the Perundaram Karikala-Kanna-Pallavaraiyan for sacred lamps. From (the milk of these forty-eight cows) he himself and his dependents, (viz.) (his) uterine brother Pidaran Sattan ; the shepherd Kaliyan Tuduvan, living at Mangalavayil in Rajaraja-valanadu ; and the shepherd Kaliyan Achchan, living in the same village, have to supply (one) urakku of ghee per day, for one sacred lamp, by the Adavallan (measure).

To the shepherd Vemban Kalari, residing at Siruvenni in Virasora-valanadu, (a subdivision) of Nittavinoda-valanadu, were assigned forty-eight cows out of the cows given by the Perundaram Arumori-Pallavaraiyan for sacred lamps. From (the milk of these forty-eight cows) he himself and his dependents (viz.) his uterine brother Vemban Valur ; the shepherd Kesuvan Venni, living at [Siruvenni] in Virasora-valanadu, (a subdivision) of Nittavinoda-valanadu, have to supply (one) urakku of ghee per day, for one sacred lamp, by the Adavallan (measure).

71. To the shepherd Pasur Vasudevan, residing at Nedumanal alias Madanamanjari-chaturvedimangalam in Nenmali-nadu, (a subdivision) of Arumorideva-valanadu, were assigned forty-eight cows in all, (viz.) twenty-five out of the cows (surabhi) of the lord Sri-Rajarajesvaramudaiyar; and twenty-three out of the cows presented by the Perundaram Nittavinoda-Maharajan for sacred lamps. From (the milk of these forty-eight cows) he himself and his dependents, (viz.) the shepherd Okkur [Oma]rudan, living at Madanamanjari-chaturvedimangaam in Nenmali-nadu, (a subdivision) of Arumorideva-valanadu ; and the shepherd Vengadan Virupparaiyan, living in the same village, have to supply (one) urakku o ghee per day, for one sacred lamp, by the Adavallan (measure).

72. To the shepherd Nagan Sadaiyan, residing at Navalur in Kirsudi-nadu, (a subdivision) of Pandaykulasani-valanadu, were assigned ninety-six ewes in all, (viz.) seventy-eight out of the ewes given by the lord Sri-Rajarajadeva for sacred lamps ; and eighteen ewes (equivalent) to the nine cows given out of the cows presented by the Perundaram Nittavinoda-Maharaj[n] for sacred lamps. From (the milk of these ninety-six ewes) he himself and his dependents, (viz.) the shepherd Kali Surri, living at Navalur in Kirsudi-nadu, (a subdivision) of Pandyakulasani-valanadu; and the shepherd [Ara]n Maran, living in the same village, have to supply (one) urakku of ghee per day, for one sacred lamp, by the Adavallan (measure).

73. To the shepherd Sirraman Pugaran, residing at Kalaiyanpadi in Pulivalakurram, (a subdivision) of Rajaraja-valanadu, were assigned ninety-six ewes out of the ewes given by the Perundaram Rajaraja-Vanakovaraiyan for sacred lamps. From (the milk of these ninety-six ewes) he himself and his dependent, (viz.) his uterine brother Sirraman Kurundan, have to supply (one) urakku of ghee per day, for one sacred lamp, by the Adavallan (measure).

74. To the shepherd Vadugan Kuppai, residing at Vinnaneri alias Mummadi-soranallur in Eriy-nadu, (a subdivision) of Pandyakulasani-valanadu, were assigned ninety-six ewes in all, (viz.) sixty out of the ewes given by the Perundaram Rajaraja-Vanakovaraiyan for sacred lamps; and thirty-six ewes (which could be got) for the twelve kasu given out of the money deposited for sacred lamps by the Sonagan Savur Paranjodi, living in (the street called) Rajavidyadharapperunderu, outside tanjavur. Fro (the milk of these ninety-six ewes) he himself and his dependents, (viz,) the shepherd Kali Araiyan, living at Vinnaneri alias Mummadi-soranallur in Eriy-nadu, (a subdivision) of Pandyakulasani-valanadu ; the shepherd Sendan Kadan, living in the same village ; the shepherd Kali Mulli, living at Valuvamangalam in Vada-Siruvay-nadu, (a subdivision) of Pandyakulasani-valanadu ; and the shepherd Mullur Vemban, living in the same village, have to supply (one) urakku of ghee per day, for one sacred lamp, by the Adavallan (measure).

To the shepherd Maran Kadan, residing at Perumullur in Panriyur-nadu, (a subdivision) of Rajaraja-valanadu, (were assigned) ninety-six ewes in all (viz.,) forty-five ewes (which could be got) for the fifteen kasu given out of the money deposited for sacred lamps by the Songan Savur Paranjodi, living in (the street called) Rajavidyadharapperunderu, outside Tanjavur ; forty-eight ewes (which could be got) for the sixteen kasu given out of the money deposited by Adittan Suryan alias Tennavan Muvendavelan, the headman of Poygai-nadu, for sacred lamps; and three ewes (which could be got) for the one kasu given out of the treasury of the lord Sri-Rajrajesvaramudaiyar. From (the milk of these ninety-six ewes) he himself and his dependents, (viz.) his maternal uncle Kadan Kandan ; his father’s younger brother Komadi Kaliyan ; (his) father (tamappan) Komadi Maran ; and the shepherd Nilan Eruvan, living at Navalur in Kirsudi-nadu, (a subdivision) of Pandyakulasani-valanadu, have to supply (one) urakku of ghee per day, for one sacred lamp, by the Adavallan (measure).

76. To the shepherd Singan Koramban, residing at [Kannikudi] in Sennimangala-kurram, (a subdivision) of Rajaraja-valanadu, were assigned forty-eight cows out of the cows given by the Perundaram Kon Surri alias Arumori-Pallavaraiayan for sacred lamps. From (the milk of these forty-eight cows) he himself and his dependent, (viz.) his uterine brother Singan Ponnan, have to supply (one) urakku of ghee per day, for one sacred lamp, by the Adavallan (measure).

T the shepherd Siriyan Panri, residing at Kannikudi in Sennimangalakurram, (a subdivision) of Rajaraja-valanadu, were assigned forty-eight cows out of the cows given by the Perundaram Kon Surri alias Arumori-Pallavaraiyan for sacred lamps. From (the milk of these forty-eight cows) he himself and his dependent, (viz.) his nephew Pandan Sivan, have to supply (one) urakku of ghee per day, for one sacred lamp, by the Adavallan (measure).

78. To the shepherd Kallan Nakkan, residing at Kannikudi in Sennimangalakurram, (a subdivision) of Rajaraja-valanadu, were assigned forty-eight cows out of the cows given by the Perundaram Kon Surri alias Arumori-Pallavaraiyan for sacred lamps, From (the milk of these forty-eight cows he) has to supply (one) urakku of ghee per day, for one sacred lamp, by the Adavallan (measure).

79. To the shepherd Kurudan Periyan, residing at Mangalam in Miysengilinadu, (a subdivision) of Pandyakulasani-valanadu, were assigned forty-eight cows in all, (viz.) thirty-six out of the cows given by the Perundaram Vayiri Arumori alias Karikala-Karna-Pallavaraiyan for sacred lamps ; twelve out of the cows given by the Perundarm Kon Surri alias Arumori-Pallavaraiyan for sacred lamp. From (the milk of these forty-eight cows he) has supply (one) urakku of ghee per day, for one sacred lamp, by the Adavallan (measure).

80. To the shepherd Ayiravan Ugandan, residing at Maraneri in Kiliyur-nadu, (a subdivision) of Pandyakulasani-valanadu, were assigned thirty-two kasu out of the money deposited by the Palavagai –Parambadaigalilar for sacred lamps to (the image of) Pichchadevar set up by queen (nambirattiyar) Lokamahadeviyar. For (these thirty-two kasu) ninety-six ewes (could be got). To the shepherd Nallaran Villanai, residing at Mangalam in Mangalanadu, (a subdivision) of Arumorideva-valanadu, were assigned thirty-two kasu out of the money deposited by the priest (gurukkal) Isanasivapandita for a lamp to the image of the Gurukkal set up (in the temple).
