The king receives a number of
Western Chāḷukya birudas and
claims to belong to the Sōma-
vaṁśa. The characters are
crudely engraved and may be
assigned to about the 11th or
12th century A. D. The ins-
cription seems to record a gift
of land, 24 mattar in extent, to a
certain Chaṭṭeya-Nā[ya*]ka who
appears to have been the com-
mander of the king’s elephant
forces. Of. Ind. Ant., Vol.
VIII, p. 89. Other gifts to dei-
ties are also registered. |
