Gail gets incentive to make
Dabhol plant operational

The public sector gas major Gail (India) has obtained a
major incentive from the union government to make the Dabhol Power Plant operational.
It has received a 12-year contract for the supply of gas.
Gail, along with NTPC, SBI Caps and IDBI, has been entrusted with the task of reviving the Dabhol Power Plant. This group plans to get the plant going in all probability by the 3rd quarter of the next calendar year, said Prashanto Banerjee, chairman and managing director of Gail (India) on Tuesday.
Gail has also signed a pact with
a Russian institute. The Skochinsky Mining Institute of Russia and GAIL are entering into a Memorandum of Collaboration for undertaking in-situ gasification of lignite in Mannargudi, Tamil Nadu, and
Barmer, Rajasthan.
No hike in petrol price:
The Government today decided against changing petrol and diesel prices for now.
"The public sector oil companies have decided against revising prices this fortnight,'' an official of Indian Oil Corporation said.
