in Lankan peace process

The Sri Lankan Opposition leader, Ranil Wickremesinghe, who wound up a series of meetings with Indian leaders in New Delhi on Wednesday, found that India was very supportive of the peace process in Sri Lanka, but it was
still reluctant to play a pro-active role in it.
\93Both the Sri Lankan government and the Opposition United National Party have been asking India to play an enhanced role. But New Delhi continues to be aloof, preferring to wait and watch,\94 a source close to Wickremesinghe told Hindustan Times.
"The new government in India is still formulating a strategy vis-\E0-vis the Sri Lankan peace process. It still does not know what role it should play,\94 the source, which had been tracking the New Delhi parleys, said.
