Pakistan foreign ministers meet, make cautious progress

India and Pakistan are likely
to announce a series of confidence building measures after the conclusion of
talks between their foreign ministers on Monday. They also agreed to continue
the ceasefire, in force since November 2003.

will set Indo-Pak agenda: The stage is being set for the meeting between Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and General Musharraf in New York in the third week of September. The Foreign Ministers\92 meeting
in Delhi has been turned more into the nature of a holding operation that will review the progress, or lack of it, of the first round of the composite dialogue and identify areas where quick action is possible.
Kashmir
settlement key to peace, says Pak PM:
Shaukat Aziz on Sunday expressed confidence that sacrifices rendered by
Kashmiris in their "struggle for self-determination" would bear fruit

strikes personal chord with Advani:
Pakistan Foreign Minister Khurshid N Kasuri took special efforts

The length of meeting, 40 minutes and size of Pakistani delegation was a clear

Samajwadi Party MLC shot dead:
Ajit Singh and a 12-year-old boy were shot dead at his birthday bash at a motel in Unnao on the Lucknow-Kanpur highway.
The MLC had thrown a birthday party for about 100 persons. Amidst flowing liquor and
dancing, gunshots were fired as part of the celebrations. One such shot may have accidentally hit the Samajwadi Party MLC in the head, who later succumbed to injuries
in hospital.

blasts Sinha's 'vulgarity': The
Congress has expressed outrage at former Finance Minister and senior BJP leader
Yashwant Sinha's abusive remarks on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and party
president Sonia Gandhi. Congress leaders said the BJP should not stretch things
