Snaking above, below and on the ground, one world-class train service is shaping a new future for urban transportation in India even as it brings cutting-edge travel technology to the subcontinent.
Since its inauguration in December 2002, the Delhi Metro has become the capital's showpiece as it makes travelling in this crowded, and at places chaotic, city of 15 million people and over four million vehicles quicker and more comfortable than ever before.
And Sunday will be a red-letter day for the Delhi Metro when Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will flag off the sleek, futuristic trains on their maiden journey underground.

shut down: Chairman and Chief
Executive Officer (CEO) of baazee.com, Avneesh Bajaj, an India-born American
national, has been arrested under Section 67 of the Infomation Technology (IT)
Act and Delhi Police has initiated proceedings to close down the online trading
portal.
No decision on EPF yet, says Govt:
The Government on Friday clarified that it was yet to take any decision on EPF interest rate. In response to a query from BJP leader VK Malhotra, Leader of the House in Lok Sabha and Defence Minister Pranab Mukherjee said the Government was in the process of taking a decision on the proposal for increasing the EPF interest rate and would make an announcement in Parliament.

Telecom Regulator Trai said it was still discussing the issue of resale price

offering unfavourable commercial terms and conditions to Indian IT and ITeS
companies and added that no directive has yet been issued on the matter.

SAIL chalks out Rs 675 crore upgradation plan:
The Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) board of directors has given the go-ahead for a number of projects involving a total investment of over Rs. 675 crore. The projects, aimed at upgrading technology in existing production facilities, are part of the first phase of the company's growth plan that envisages increasing production of value-added steels by the year 2012.
