   Maxis Budgets Rs. 2000 Crore

  Malaysian company Maxis Communications owning 74 per cent stake in mobile telecommunications operator Aircel Cellular plans to invest Rs. 2000 crore (USD 454 million) and reach eight million subscribed in 2007-08.
     
 

Malaysian company Maxis Communications owning 74 per cent stake in mobile telecommunications operator Aircel Cellular plans to invest Rs. 2000 crore (USD 454 million) and reach eight million subscribed in 2007-08. The company expects this investment, in addition to its Rs. 2700 crore current investment, to contribute 10 per cent of the group's total revenues. Maxis has paid for rights in 14 additional circles in Maharashtra, Karnataka , Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Delhi, Mumbai, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh East, Uttar Pradesh West, Kolkata, Kerala , Haryana, and Punjab. It currently has rights to 9 circles
