Russia has assured India that it will not allow China to use its RD-93 engines in the JF-17 Thunder multi-role fighter aircraft in planes it plans to sell to Pakistan and is apparently covered in the end user certificate contracts barring export of technology to Pakistan.

Pakistan had invested USD 150 million in a joint venture with China to get 150 fighter aircraft to counter India’s Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) and Russia is contracted to deliver 500 jet engines. The Chengdu Aeronautical Complex has already received 16 RD-93 engines.
