Unnamed sources present at the laboratory tests performed on Portugal-extradited gangster Abu Salem said that the names or issues relating to Bollywood actors did not even feature in their questioning. The sources trashed newspaper reports that suggested that Salem had implicated Sunil Dutt for smuggling in assault weapons, procuring bombs, and providing shelter to terrorists.

The Terrorism and Disruptive Actives (TADA) court directed the forensic lab to determine Salem's involvement in the murder of realty developer Pradeep Jain.
