Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University Rajendranagar, Hyderabad-500030, Andhra Pradesh - The Andhra Pradesh Agricultural University (APAU) was established on June 12, 1964 at Hyderabad. The University was renamed as Acharya N. G. Ranga Agricultural University on November 7th 1996 in honor and memory of an outstanding Parliamentarian Acharya N.G. Ranga, who rendered remarkable selfless service for the cause of the farmers and is regarded as an outstanding educationist, kisan leader and freedom fighter.

Andhra University Visakhapatnam-530003, Andhra Pradesh - The Andhra University was constituted by an act of the Madras legislature, Madras Act. No. II of 1926. The Andhra University made its beginning as a residential institution with its special concern for honors and postgraduate teaching though it has affiliating responsibilities of the old Madras University from which it has spread. The University was contemplated to set an example by running it on lines similar to Manchester and Leeds imparting training not only in the ordinary courses of study, but also in specialized branches which bear direct relationship to the industrial establishments in the adjacent districts.

Central Institute of English & Foreign Languages Hyderabad-500007, Andhra Pradesh - The Central Institute of English and Foreign Languages (CIEFL) is an autonomous Institution, registered as a society. It is a national institute of higher education. CIEFL provides for the study of English and Foreign Languages and their literatures, organisation of research, training of teachers, production of teaching materials, and extension services, to help improve the standards of the teaching of English and Foreign Languages in India. Over the years, CIEFL has been introducing various Foreign Languages that are in demand. It is the only University in India catering exclusively to the teaching/learning Foreign Languages. The Institute offers academic Programmes in English, Arabic, French, German, Japanese, Russian and Spanish.

Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Open University Prof. G. Ram Reddy Marg, Road No. 46, Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad - 500 033. A.P. - Dr.B.R. Ambedkar Open University (BRAOU), formerly known as Andhra Pradesh Open University, is located in the city of Hyderabad. With a wide network of 152 study centers spread throughout the state of Andhra Pradesh, the University has for its motto "Education at Your Doorstep". The University, the first of its kind in the Country was brought into being through an act of Andhra Pradesh State Legislature in August,1982.

International Institute of Information Technology Gachibowli, Hyderabad-500019, Andhra Pradesh - The International Institute of Information Technology(formerly Indian Institute of Information Technology), Hyderabad is an autonomous, self-supporting institution started in 1998 with seed support from the Government of Andhra Pradesh. A major goal of IIIT is to impart a uniquely broad and interdisciplinary IT education of the highest academic quality. This is achieved through an integrated curriculum that consists of a highly diverse set of IT courses, interdisciplinary IT research projects, day-to-day interaction with industry, preparation in entrepreneurship and personality development courses.

Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kukatpally, Hyderabad-500072, Andhra Pradesh - Under a broad policy framework of providing new technological education required for the industrial growth of the country in general and more particularly for the State of Andhra Pradesh, "Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University" was established on 2nd October, 1972, by an act of State Legislature. Rightly named after the ardent lover of Science and Technology, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India, the University was established with the noble objectives of strengthening and improving the standards of Technological Education and making it relevant to the rural and industrial development of the country.

Kakatiya University Warangal, Andhra Pradesh - The University originally established as a post-graduate college in 1967 with 4 departments has grown enormously during these 26 years extending its jurisdiction to cover the four economically backward districts of north Telengana region of Andhra Pradesh, namely Adilabad, Karimnagar, Khammam and Warangal. The University Post Graduate Centers at all the district headquarters and at Kothagudem, Nirmal and Godavarikhani have become full-fledged colleges and are efficiently fulfilling the academic needs of socio-economic backward region of rural Telengana under the jurisdiction of the University.

Maulana Azad National Urdu University - Maulana Azad National Urdu University is a Central University established by an Act of Parliament with an all-India Jurisdiction. It started functioning from 9th January, 1998, with its headquarters at Hyderabad. The mandate of the University, as per the Act, is to "Promote and develop Urdu Language; to provide vocational and technical education in Urdu medium; to provide education through conventional teaching and distance education system and to provide focus on women education".

Nagarjuna University - Nagarjuna University, an affiliating University established in 1976, started with only 10 post-graduate courses in the University College, which have been in existence right from 1967 when it was a part of the Andhra University as Post-Graduate Centre in Nallapadu, Guntur. Since then, it has achieved tremendous progress through quantitative expansion and qualitative improvements on various academic fronts. This has been possible by the efforts of its dedicated faculty, an efficient team of supporting staff and high quality student input. The University at present offers post-graduate education in 44 courses (35 on the University campus, 4 at University PG Centre at Nuzvid and 5 at University PG Centre at Ongole) besides Post-graduate courses in affiliated colleges. It is situated between the cities of Vijayawada and Guntur in Andhra Pradesh on Calcutta and Chennai National Highway (NH-5). Its campus is spread over an area of 293 acres. Besides the campus college, it has two University Postgraduate centres - one each at Nuzvid (Krishna Dt.) and Ongole (Prakasam Dt.). Its affiliational jurisdiction extends over the three districts of Krishna, Guntur and Prakasam of Andhra Pradesh.

National Academy of Legal Studies & Research University - NALSAR UNIVERSITY of Law, established under the Andhra Pradesh Act 34 of 1998, is a body corporate having perpetual succession and a common seal. It is a fully residential university engaged in teaching and promoting research in law and allied disciplines. The University campus is located on a sprawling 55-acre site abutting the Shameerpet Lake about 28 kilometers from Hyderabad Airport, whilst its city centre is located in Barkatpura, Hyderabad.

National Institute of Technology Warangal-506004, Andhra Pradesh - The National Institute of Technology (formerly Regional Engineering College), Warangal was established in 1959 and was the first in the chain of 17 RECs in the country. RECs are jointly sponsored by the Central Government and the Government of the State in which a given REC is located. Warangal is very well connected by road and rail. The nearest airport is Hyderabad at a distance of 140 kms. The nearest railway station is Kazipet Junction at a distance of 2 kms. The Warangal railway station is at a distance of 12 kms. Kazipet Junction is well known in the national railway network. Everyday there are trains to any part of the country from the Junction. All trains in the routes (i) Delhi -Madras and (ii) Bombay - Hyderabad - Howrah stop either at Kazipet or Warangal.

Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences Punjagutta, Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh - The Genesis of NIMS dates back to the year 1961. The Nizam's Charitable Trust thought of starting a speciality Hospital for orthopaedic patients. With the objective of further developing the educational and research facilities in the field of medical sciences in super specialities and to develop a pattern of teaching in post graduate level including training in para medical and allied fields, the Andhra Pradesh State legislature passed a bill making NIMS a university. The Act came into effect from 18.06.1989 and NIMS was recognised by the University Grant Commission, Medical Council of India, Royal Society of Radiologists of UK.

Osmania University Hyderabad-500 007, Andhra Pradesh - Osmania University, established in 1918, is the seventh oldest in India, the third oldest in south India and the first to be established in the erstwhile princely state of Hyderabad. Throughout its existence of over eight decades, it has shown remarkable progress and sustained an integrated development of all faculties. It has significantly contributed to the academic and economic development of not only the region but also of the Country. Its alumni have distinguished themselves nationally and internationally in various spheres of life and are spread far and wide around the world. With a sprawling campus of nearly 1600 acres (6 km²) and buildings of majestic beauty and architectural splendor, Osmania University, is perhaps, the largest higher education system in the Country.  It is a multi-faculty and multidisciplinary university, offering rich and varied courses in the fields of Humanities, Arts, Sciences, Social Sciences, Law, Engineering, Technology, Commerce and Business Management, Information Technology and Oriental Languages.  The University’s strategic planning, teaching-and-learning policies and research direction have always emphasized respect for the concerns of the society and the need to address the issues that challenge it.

Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh - The Vidyapeetha was established at Tirupati (A.P.) in 1961 by Govt. of India on the recommendation of Central Sanskrit Commission, as autonomous body - Kendriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha Society Tirupati. Foundation stone was laid by Dr.S.Radhakrishnan, the then Vice President of India on 4th January,1962. Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, Tirupati generously donated 41.48 acres of land along with a munificient grant-in-aid of Rs.10 lacs for the establishment of Vidyapeetha thru the good offices of Dr.C.Anna Rao, the then Executive Officer. In April 1971, the Kendriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha, Tirupati came under aegis of Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, New Delhi- an autonomous body under Ministry of Education, Govt. of India. The Deemed University was formally inaugurated by the then President of India His Excellece R.Venkataraman on 26th August, 1989. From 1991-92 academic year onwards the Vidyapeetha has been awarding its own degrees.

Sri Krishnadevaraya University Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh - Sri Krishnadevaraya University, came into existence on July 25, 1981 fulfilling a silent demand and a long cherished dream of the people of Rayalaseema. The University is named after a great patron of learning and the arts, Sri Krishnadevaraya, of the glorious Vijayanagara empire of the sixteenth century. The University is an offshoot of the erstwhile Postgraduate Centre of Sri Venkateswara University started in 1968. The University has an academic history of 33 years. Situated in rural environs in an extensive campus of over 500 acres of land, the University has ample scope for development as also an infrastructure which includes a University Science Instrumentation Centre, a Computer Centre, a Health Centre, a Gymnasium, an Outdoor Stadium, an Auditorium and adequately built up space to accommodate departments of studies, laboratories, hostels, and housing for the staff, teaching and non-teaching.

Sri Padmavathi Mahila Visvavidyalayam Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh - This University was established by the Sri Padmavathi Mahila Visvavidyalayam Act 1983 (Act No 16 of 1983) passed by the Andhra Pradesh legislature. It bears the name of goddess Sri Padmavathi, the consort of Lord Venkateswara. Admission is open only to women. The ratio of intake is 42:36:22 in the regions of Andhra, Telangana and Rayalaseema respectively, subject to statutory reservations.

Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning Vidyagiri, Prasanthi Nilayam - 515 134, Anantapur District, Andhra Pradesh - The Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning was founded on November 22, 1981, by Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. An autonomous body, it has been recognised by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, and the University Grants Commission (UGC), as a Deemed University vide their notification no.F9-11/81-0.3 dt.10.11.1981. The Institute has been admitted as a regular member of the Association of Indian Universities vide their letter no.Meet/Reg.Memb/86/97596 dt.20.4.1986. The Institute which grew out of the Colleges founded earlier by Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba at Anantapur (A.P.), Whitefield (near Bangalore, Karnataka) and Prasanthi Nilayam (A.P.), which aims at imparting Intergral Education, development of character being considered the primary objective of education. In practical terms, the programmes offered by the Institute seek to combine the best of both our ancient traditions, and modern advancements. While the foundations are the eternal human values, the superstructure relates to today's Society. The Institute subscribes wholly to the concept and practice of national integration and has adopted an open admission policy, based on merit, encouraging the enrollment of boys and girls from all over the country. In order to effectively mould the student's personality, hostel living has been made compulsory and patterned in the ancient Gurukula style.

Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, TTD Administrative Building, K.T. Road, Tirupati-517501, Andhra Pradesh - Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS) caters to the medical needs of the poor and needy in the Rayalaseema region of Andhra Pradesh. Apart from patient care, teaching and research is an important activity here. The faculty actively participates in National and International Conferences and presents research data. SVIMS was upgraded to a medical university in 1995. CME programmes for general practitioners and junior doctors is a regular feature of the Institute. About ten PG Diploma Courses (PGDC) in various specialities have been started. The College of Nursing offers a bachelor's degree in Nursing. Proposals to start DM and MCh courses are under consideration.

Sri Venkateswara University Tirupati-517502,Andhra Pradesh - Sri Venkateswara University, was established in 1954. The University is a standing testmony to the wisdom and foresight of Late Tanguturi Prakasam Pantulu, the then Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, and to the munificence of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams. Equiped with the most modem laboratory facilities and a very strong library resource system, the University has been conducting sponserd and funded research in soveral key areas such as Water Resource Management, Rural Sanitation, Low Cost Housing, Alternative Systems of energy, MST RadarApplications, Environmental Stidies. A good deal of research activity of Sri Venkateswara University is a response to the problems of drought prone semi-arid Rayalaseema region.

University of Health Sciences Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh - The “Andhra Pradesh University of Health Sciences” was established by the Act.No. 6 of the Andhra Pradesh legislature and was inaugurated on 9-4-1986 by the late Sri N.T. Rama Rao, the then Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.The University of Health Sciences started functioning at Vijayawada from 01-11-1986. After the death of its founder Sri N.T. Rama Rao the University was named after him as NTR University of Health Sciences, Andhra Pradesh with effect from 2.2.98 vide Act No.4 of 1998. The University was established with the objective of improving the standards of Medical Education including Research.

University of Hyderabad - University of Hyderabad is a premier institute of post-graduate teaching and research, established by an Act of the Parliament of India in 1974 as a Central University. Over the years, University of Hyderabad has emerged as a top ranking institute of higher education and research in India. The University is located about 20 KMs from the city of Hyderabad on the old Hyderabad-Bombay highway. Stretching over nearly 2300 acres of land, the sprawling, scenic, serene campus is the home of a variety of birds. The University also has a city campus - The Golden Threshold - the residence of the late Sarojini Naidu.
