   Suzlon Buys REpower for 1.02B

  World's fifth largest wind turbine marker Suzlon Energy outbid French Areva offer by 20 per cent to buy Germany-based REpower Systems on an all-cash deal worth 1.02 billion along with Portugal's largest builder Mota Engil.
     
 

World's fifth largest wind turbine marker Suzlon Energy outbid French Areva offer by 20 per cent to buy Germany-based REpower Systems on an all-cash deal worth 1.02 billion along with Portugal's largest builder Mota Engil. Suzlong will part-fund the purchase through debt and through internal accruals. REpower has over a 10 per cent market share in Germany and a leader in 5 megawatt (MW) turbines for offshore applications. Suzlong has operations in Europe, Asia , North America, and Australia
