   Suzlon Buys REpower for €1.02B

  World's fifth largest wind turbine marker Suzlon Energy outbid French Areva offer by 20 per cent to buy Germany-based REpower Systems on an all-cash deal worth €1.02 billion along with Portugal's largest builder Mota Engil.
     
 

World's fifth largest wind turbine marker Suzlon Energy outbid French Areva offer by 20 per cent to buy Germany-based REpower Systems on an all-cash deal worth €1.02 billion along with Portugal's largest builder Mota Engil. Suzlong will part-fund the purchase through debt and through internal accruals. REpower has over a 10 per cent market share in Germany and a leader in 5 megawatt (MW) turbines for offshore applications. Suzlong has operations in Europe, Asia , North America, and Australia
