In a major show of good faith, US policy makers worked into the night to reconcile the House and Senate versions of the amendments to US law that would facilitate Indo-US civilian nuclear cooperation and will be signed into law by US President George Bush. |

Concern 5: Access to Technology
The bill might not authorize certain exports and re-exports of any equipment, material or technology related to enrichment of uranium, reprocessing of spent fuel or production of heavy water. This restriction for India is actually more benign than the one negotiated with China but nevertheless restrictive.
On the positive side, India has already developed these technologies indigenously and therefore does not need to import them and therefore is not really a restriction.
