Indo-US bilateral trade during January-May 2006 has grown substantially with 23.3% increase in imports and 19% increase in exports totaling USD 12 billion and set to pass last year’s level of USD 26.8 billion (previous year’s level was USD 21.6 billion).

The two nations aim to double bilateral trade to USD 60 billion within the next 3 years. At current levels bilateral trade is about 10% of US-China trade levels.
A recent article from Wharton Business School concluded that India is a better place for business than China as there in the long run because of solid fundamentals for for economic growth and has “a democratic government, a strong education system, widespread knowledge of English and a deep pool of expatriates experienced in Western businesses.
