The Sudanese Government asked local authorities in the western region of Darfur to immediately suspend UN all non-humanitarian activities in 3 states and allow only the World Food Program and other international aid agencies.

Sudan accused the United Nations Mission in Sudan of overstepping its mandate by airlifting a Darfur rebel movement leader causing it to take this extreme decision.
