   Muzaffarabad Students want LeT Out

  • Students in Muzaffarabad want Lashkar-e-Toiba out of the area

  • Blame ISI for influence and administration for laxity

  • Banned LeT has spawned with many front organizations

Jammu and Kashmir National Students Federation (JKNSF) in Muzaffarabad has demanded that the Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) vacate the area and accused the Inter Services Intelligence’s of interference and castigated the administration's apathy to curb terror. The JKNSF has resolved not to allow Muzaffarabad to become another Karachi and have warned that they will resort to a jihad of their own to destroy Lashkar's bases and training camps if no action was initiated against LeT.

Apparently, the LeT the provoked a strong backlash when its cadre men fired indiscriminately to injure a tailor and his brother in Muzaffarabad over a minor dispute. This isolated incident sparked off protest against the LeT and is highlighting several unreported atrocities perpetrated by the LeT on the local population in Muzaffarabad and its surrounding areas.

Pakistan banned the LeT and closed their offices after 9/11 attacks but operations merely went underground and now they seem to be mushrooming overtly all over in POK with renewed vigor and newer names. LeT cadres are reportedly freely moving in Muzaffarabad and its surrounding areas without any fear of retribution or control.
