Warns of “further bloodshed” if SPA makes Parliament supreme body
Alarmed by the bonhomie shown to Nepal Prime Minister Girija Koirala,
terrorists say that it is concerned by the "slow pace" of talks and warned of
"further bloodshed" if the seven-party alliance (SPA) made the Parliament the
supreme body in the country.
Terrorist group chief Prachanda said "If the Government tries to move ahead
with their agenda to make Parliament the Supreme body, ignoring the rebels'
role, this may result in further bloodshed.” He argued that the "Republican
system has its root in the people's heart, but the Seven Party Alliance is not
moving as per the aspiration of the people.”
Prachanda tried to further divide the nation by warning that “If India tries
to prove that parliamentary system is everything by extending financial support
it would be counterproductive for the country.”
The terrorists want a system that is essentially governed by their divisive
principles and one that they can control. A Parliamentary democratic system
which divests powers to village level would obviate the need for Maoism
resulting in the redundancy of the movement.
