The United Nations World Committee on Tourism Ethics (UNWCTE) announced that
it will set up an executive committee to work on the sad increase in child-sex
tourism even though several studies have shown that overall sexual exploitation
numbers are down.
While member-countries of UNWCTE now realize the dangers of uncontrolled
tourism leading to exploitation of children and had voluntarily implemented
published code of ethics, it was not happy with the level of understanding of
the code. The UNWCTE plans to adopt persuasive measures for effective
implementation of the code.
