Indonesia said that it found the H5N1 virus in its easternmost province Papua among fighting cocks possibly imported from neighboring Sulawesei Island. This is the first instance of the virus in this province and authorities say that they have ordered a culling of 200 chickens found infected with this disease.

Poultry in two-thirds of Indonesia's 33 provinces are said to be infected.
