US Plans to Attack Iran

Noted journalist of The New York Times quoted unnamed sources to claim that the US has stepped up plans to use conventional and tactical nuclear weapons to destroy Iran’s underground nuclear “research” facility at Natanz. Iran dismissed the report as American attempts to wage “psychological war” on Iran and intimidate the nation into submission. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman said that its nuclear program was a “red line” and that his country will never submit to such threats.

Iran cited American aggression by pointing out to an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) that took off from Iraq to photograph border areas. Iran says that they followed the drone and shot it down and retrieved details of what it was recording and its codes.

The West accuses Iran of planning to build a nuclear bomb, which Iran vehemently denies. Yet, the purchase of centrifuges from disgraced Pakistan nuclear scientist A.Q. Khan, lack of notifications to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) as required by the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) that it has signed, the unilateral abrogation of the Paris Agreement, unilateral termination of dialogue with the EU-3 nations (Britain, France, and Germany), refusal to accept the Russian formula that the entire world supports, bellicose comments against Israel and the Jewish people have raised serious doubts in the world on Iran’s intentions.

However, in a clear sign that the West is not considering war, British Jack Straw dismissed Times article saying that while the world was concerned and suspicious of the Iranian program, there is no cause for war.
